How To Afford Your Skyline?
PSI_GTSII replied to Boostkid's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
My GTR is only a Toy and in the last 12 months I have done about 6000kms in it. (In which time it has had 3 oil Changes!) I own it outright, as well as my 2002 TJ Magna I am not good with money, and have wasted absolutely Thousands of $$$$ on cars since getting my license, I Have had well over 30 cars, infact the only reason I own both cars now is 'Time' as I myself am well over 30! (Dont laugh it comes around pretty quick, before you know it you'll be 30 to ) -
Hi interested in the turbo and live in perth. Does the turbo have any shaft play? I'm guessing it will bolt onto an rb25? Can pay cash if you are interested sms me your moile number to 0417990398

Official results are up http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results....01/2006.BARB.P1 http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results..../2006.BARB.P1.I I could'nt agree with DJR81 more as this is my favourite form of motorsport and would love to get involved, but for now I will not be returning until I have a set of R-Comps. Almost did'nt pass scrutineering with my tyres on the night, did'nt realize they were so bad, probably most of the reason my car was somewhat of a handfull! So did no one get any pictures...?

Was'nt really talking about his time specifically, but most of the other catorgories represent there would have been

http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results....03/12/2005.BARB Dont forget those times above will have been done on slicks You can cut approx 4 seconds from your time running a set of R-Comps.....

Kermit spins -
The TT Supra was an instructors time also just above yours, so you jump another spot All in all was a great night, well organized, with great timing equipment (From the V8 Supercars) and is highly recomended to anyone considering it in future. Myself well I had a great lose at the hairpin on my 2nd lap inspired by Kermits lose 1/2 a lap earlier , probably 100kmh sideways as we hit the sand! if you had a bucket and spade you could have made some great sandcastles with the sand from 'inside' my car.....Seriously!! The off Seemed to Stuff up my HICAS however as the dash light is now on and Steering very heavy, only did few laps after that but still managed fastest time of the night a 1:01.1, my 'very first' lap of the night was a 1:02.2! I reckon if i'd stayed out longer I could've scraped in a high 59 BTW, The Glowing brake discs and 'Sparks' from my Brakes was a bit of a worry as they were coming thru both open windows but would've looked pretty good from the outside! They also mentioned to us as a reference point that a HQ holden Lap record is a 1:02, and a 49hp Formula Vee a 57 I beleive which is sobering news, the short track especially is more about neatness and holding speed thru the corners than outright power Anyone get any pics of the night, or links to....? This is all I have....waiting for my instructor....dont think anyone wanted to ride with me after my errr 'Little' off (Notice the electronic timer taped to everyones front bumper)

Heres the lap times I know (at least) the WRX STi and XR6T times in 2nd and 3rd were done by instructors very late in the night. So it was an R32 GTR One Two

I run GT2560Rs which in essence are similar to your N1's Mine are also Noticeable laggier than the standard units, when really they should'nt be. I also have retained the standard ECU for now, and like me this is what will be holding you back Because your new Turbos will be flowing so much more air it goes beyond the Factory ECUs mapping capability, hence when you come onto boost 5000rpm for me, your AFRs take a big dive and prevent noticeable gains in HP being made Mine is making 315rwHP on 14psi (No Boost control fitted but restrictor removed) *Quick look at my Dyno sheet shows its making 315 from 5000rpm to 8000rpm revlimit, before 5000rpm AFRs are fine, as soon as it starts making Power (5000rpm) AFRs take big dive* By simply fitting a PFC and keeping boost the same this should jump 40rwHP and improve driveablity by sorting out the AFRs. It will be my next Mod. You can acheive similar result from Remap of standard ECU, but if you make any more changes down the track a whole remap is required again which can get expensive. Go the PFC

R32 Gtr - Ecu Speed Cut
PSI_GTSII replied to PSI_GTSII's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Ok I found and cut the wire which was a very easy job thx Reddrifter for the link below I have just done over 70kms+ in the car, it now surpass's 180kmh with ease, Idle is uneffected, I have started and stopped the car - no problems. Took car around a new housing estate swerving vigously to activate the HICAS and driving pretty hard, yet No Hicas Light or adverse steering effects at all. Nothing infact, car appears to be totally uneffected Heres a few pics for anyone attempting it in future which along with the link below should help you. I will be sure to post if something happens to go wrong, but for now i'm not even bothering with rigging up a switch. -
Wow... Hope my Credentials are OK for the event as all I have is a 25metre Breast stoke swimming certificate from Primary school  Anyway....If its only the short track, I wonder whether its worth disconnecting the ECU 180kmh Speed limiter? I still think it will hit it.....
-
You may be flashing me to get out of the way if i cannot disable my 180kmh Speed limiter... I presume we are running the long Track..? Also is my GF going to be charged to enter..?

R32 Gtr - Ecu Speed Cut
PSI_GTSII replied to PSI_GTSII's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Thanks mate...just what I was looking for I will wire it so as it is switchable as being a speed sensor im guessing it will mess with the HICAS. -
I generally just buy genuine Nissan items and for $8.80 why would'nt you...? I have heard the Ryco ones dont have a Valve to hold oil in the filter when the engines turned off..? I also read about an oil filter that is Magnatized so as to attract and hold any bits of metal floating around inside the engine, that sounded like a good idea.

Quick question, as I have a track night this Friday and want to disable the 180kmh speed limiter before hand. From Searching I have found that it is wire 53 from the ECU, and to cut the wire close to ECU, but all of the topics from the search were for R32 GTST's or R33's. My Question is: Is wire 53 the one to cut on a 32 GTR? Any other advise appriciated Cheers Lindsay

How Many Skylines Are Daily Drivers?
PSI_GTSII replied to nare's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
My GTR is just a toy, has only travelled 5000-6000kms in the last 12 months. Have an 02 Magna for general duties... -
My GTR runs 113mph (181kmh) terminals, and probably would go a few more as it hits the speed limiter just before it crosses the line.... It has no boost controller and is running 13psi which = 315rwHP which aint really a lot for a GTR. I thought those Terminal speeds would have been the norm, but infact now appears quite fast!..? As for the Launch my clutch (standard) will only handle 5000rpm max or else it slips badly (2.1 60fts)

That'd be me Welcome to pop over anytime for a spin, although Passenger seatbelt needs fixing as it wont retract so maybe not a good idea atm

I was there specatating last night looked like a good turnout...that Black R34 GTR was Gorgeous! and plenty of 32 GTR's as well B) Although I was surprized at there MPH,s I thought they'd be a bit quicker over the line.....? I thought mine was fairly stock but seems to run 10kmh faster over the line..!..? Could the 32 GTR drivers post your Mods, HP, 60ft times etc Cheers Lindsay
