  1. I'll give you $5000 for it
  2. Ummmm... Are we expected to be able to actually *PLAY* golf? Or is Happy Gilmore-style whacking acceptible?
  3. Sorry... brain fade Yes, I meant Turn 2, and my point is still valid
  4. Looks like it could be Turn 1... Very late apex is one of the lines you can use on that corner
  5. I should never have sold that white beastie
  6. See there you have my perfect example of balance Rich has an awesome R32 GTR that is his "project car", "power car", "weekend car" etc etc... But he also has a very nice Soarer which he takes out for general duties. Both are nice cars, without a massive disparity in their prices or comfort levels. He could have easily bought a Porsche Boxster and a 1950 Holden Fairlane, but he chose much more wiser options
  7. Yes. I think that is ludicrous. And anyone else who knew you had a $100,000 car in the garage but drove a 1980 Holden Camira ($5000 worth) everyday would also think that you're nuts. I wouldn't buy a $100k mercedes to "show it off". I'd buy one for the driving pleasure it gave me. The comfortable interior, the creature comforts, GPS sat nav, heated seats, premium nappa leather, etc etc. All these things are there to make my 10 minute drive to the station more enjoyable. Please don't get me wrong. I'm in no way opposed to buying a second car for daily commuting duties and shopping centre trips. But if you spend all your money on one super duper amazing-mobile that you end up being so scared to take it out into the big bad world, and then have to resort to using a $5000 crapper instead, that my friend, is absurd.
  8. Nope, I don't see the point at all. Insurance is your friend. It covers your ass in ANY of your suggested situations. I just think it's absolutely LUDICROUS to buy a nice car, and keep it in the garage and subjecting yourself to driving a relatively crappy car (in relation to your "nice" car) instead of enjoying the nice car.
  9. Why buy a nice car so you can leave it in the garage because you're too scared to take it anywhere? Do you think that people who buy $100,000 Mercedes and other cars have a $5000 cr4pper that they take to shopping centres? Uhhhh no. I buy my car so I can drive it, not so I can baby it and leave it in the garage whilst I drive a $500 sh1tbox around instead. That's just stupid.
  10. Your $15k skyline is more than likely NOT more precious than "the value of what ever thy are driving" Parking a $15,000 car in two spots is a sure fire way to get your car keyed. You simply care more about your car than they do. Lesson 1: Park it in single spots with pole either side of your car. Lesson 2: Park next to cars that are MUCH more expensive than yours.
  11. You know........... The lack of trackdays organised through SAU has been a major factor in my putting off buying a "track bitch" for the past year... I honestly hope this event takes off with a bang and Team Trackday is revived to it's full past glory Come on you pompous little pansy prick pillow-biters!!! The "fully sik" cruises don't make me miss owning a Skyline, but regular track days DEFINITELY would!!

  14. That traffic light is green in the photo?!?!
  15. I'm still not convinced with the interior of those BA Falcons... Bring it to the March dinner so I can check it out
  16. Rich, I did Beginners, Level 1 and Level 2 at USYD Continuing Education. http://www-secure.cce.usyd.edu.au/cgi-bin/WebObjects/CCE.woa The classes were very good, but above Level 2, people entered with prior speaking experience and the class ability started to vary immensely, which meant that the class either went way too slowly if you got a particular lesson, or way too quickly if you didn't understand... So I suggest that once you feel that you're not getting the most out of the classes, to go find a personal 1-on-1 tutor if you want to progress even further.
  17. Trivia: What does his shirt say? (NO CHEATING!!!!)
  18. Doh! I have a corporate kick-off on that day... Will be kicking on and drinking in the city so I won't be able to make this dinner
  19. Post the pics here on SAU.
  20. Wow... Looks like an excellent turnout planned! I might have to tag along and see some nice skylines again... It's been too long
  21. Why the lack of details? Just privacy or legal issues?
  22. Post your photos on SAU.
  23. Holy crap... Take a look at that conrod!!!!
  24. Werd. Consider yourself lucky........ Not unlucky. - if negligent/reckless driving normally attracts 3 demerit points, it instead attracts 4 demerit points. - if evading police normally attracts 9 demerit points, it instead attracts 10 demerit points. - if failing to stop at a stop sign normally attracts 3 demerit points, it instead attracts 4 demerit points. Since you only have 1 point left, it's all moot anyway. You're going to be hit with an automatic suspension 3 months
