  1. i just bought the apexi s-afc II but cant find english instructions. anyone help me with this?
  2. tyres might have seperated. ive had this problem before with cheap shit tyres. check the tread for any un even wear. if this is the case then get new tyres. my car was scarey at 150 with one tyre seperating. its perfect upto 250 with the new ones.
  3. from my opinion deaths are caused my stupidity. i drive allot of country roads and ive never ever had a accident (other than taking the life of a roo or two in the land cruiser at night - little ones). the other month i was going to fix a truck and i had a young guy with me. it was about 2 in the morn and i let him drive for a bit while i slept. i woke up and the car was going sidewards on the roads before coming to a stop in the bush. this *** head wanted some chips off the floor so i went to grab em, looked way from the road. the car swerved to the left onto the gravel then shot right of the road. leaving black marks from the back tires. if it was done on purpose it would have been a hell move. 110 kmh drift in a landcruiser. nice. but i nearly died from that little dicks stupidity. ive had once accident on the road. and that was caused by my not paying attention. now speed on country roads. you can jam that in ya pipe and smoke it. ive sat from port hedland to perth at arround 200 kmh and not had one problem. the roads are fine. but you make god damm sure you dont stop paying attention. i personally think ppl should be made to think more about what they are doing. yeh 50 is safe. not when you sooooooooo assured that your safe that you dont use your own brain to keep things safe. no speeding isnt safe. but nt has no speed limits on the major highways. (well just started to enforce some) and they have the LOWEST road toll. dont quote me on this because im not 100% sure of this, but i was once told that the 110 kmh speed limit was introduced in the time of war to try reduce the fuel ussage. like i say im not sure of that so if anyone knows for sure i would be interested to know. fire me up. cya
  4. does forged internals mean crank, rods and pistons? or is it just pistons? bottom end to me means crank. cya
  5. we had flight revs of 13,000 rmp and we estimate we were pushing well over 1000 horsepower, the bottom end has no marks on the mains what so ever. if thats any indication. also i read a article of that engine in the use which running nos psi corp blower etc was getting over 2000 on the standard crank.
  6. when your company suffers a 1.4 mil bad det. as for the stroker kit i have no idea about. i know the crank from the 4.7 toyota v8 and heads will fit. if you wanted a upgrade use a set of these heads which flow allot better due to straighter ports, also use that crank which will give you about 4.3 litre. or if you wanted to go crazy use the latest heads which also will fit from what ive heard. cya
  7. 1125 cfm. from mem. you ever heard of a engine that uses 9 litres for 50 seconds?
  8. bit of random info on the lexus v8. my father has one which was done in a track racing jet boat. because basically the dollars stopped we never ended up getting this to run its full potential. but we were close. on this engine these are some of the things we did (from memory so some of the details i forget) the block had the holes for the head studs drilled and helicoiled for larger head studs custom forged pistons. 6:1 compression ratio custom cams 630 lift nearly no overlap custom intake manifold 2 x 2.5 litre super chargers running 2 or 3 x the speed of engine we used heater elements in the intake manifold running fresh water from the under the boat to cool the air. we were running to barry grant carbs (we couldnt get big ennuff jets to flow the fuel we needed so we got the smallest drill bits and drilled some out to stop getting det) standard crank standard rods we only ever had this engine on the dyno once and got 900 horse power (6000 rmp) . cant remember the touque. at that time we only had 14 degress advancement. when we stopped working on the engine we had the advancement set on 32 degress. no dett what so ever. in a 50 second run it would drink approx 9 litres of c-16 racing fuel. we were running cold water from the track straight thought the engine yet still after 1 min we would have to leave the boat 15-20 mins to cool down as the super chargers were getting too hot. the lowest we could idle was 1700 rmp. we used carbs because it was easier than trying to house 24 injectors (which is what we calc we would have needed at the time) this engine also has a HUGE solid al pulley on the frount which would have to weight 1-2 kg. i mean its two inches think. that would bring the dyno horse power down due to having to spin that thing up. also we were running 40 psi of boost. guessing by the size of the blades (in jet unit) we were running compared to others whom ran the same size that had has there engines dyno'd we could only presume that we were producing arround 1200-1400 horsepower. some of the things that needed to be re done to inprove performance extractors - they were made by some aussie f#$@ head who thought that a little 4 litre engine only needed small pipes. we were going to make a set that 2 1/4 inch pipe from each port running into 3 1/2 or 4 inch extractors. a new manifold was going to be made to house meth injectors. and we were considering a psi corp super charger. the engine is sitting in ma workshop in a frame that who knows what my crazy father is really doing with it. if anyone wants pics i had a camera phone but no digital camera. 9. could get the commodore on the frount of a skyline. no wait. dont.
  10. the ultimate. a v8 fan who thinks that skylines have never raced bathurst...... i dont think extra comment is needed.
  11. you can buy the proper spacers. in all different sizes. ill find the brand etc when i got 5 mins.
  12. i once got done for speeding 82 in a so called 60 zone. i explained to the officer that the area was special rural non residential and how i was sure it was a 80 zone not a 60 like he thought, in the end i just accepted the fine. 2 months later they put signs up to say it was a 80 zone.
  13. does anyone know the top speed recorded by any car on Australian Roads?
  14. when i want power i drive the car in the place where is produces more power. when i dont want power i drive in the low rpm's where is more gental and quiet. and if your wondering how to drive your car in the range where its producing the most power. pick the right gear. not really that complicated.
  15. no that would be a really technical way of doing it. because the car has after market wheels and white dials in the cluster the speedo was over 10 kmh out. when i got the apexi rsm it allows me to fix this. so first up i sat on 60 kmh and corrected then checked at 100 and last off 150. me smart like tractor
  16. the import rules from what i understand have changed and this means its really hard to import a car with modifications. ie from what the import guy i got mine from explained they have to be stock standard. from wheels to exhaust. maybe if you waited a bit your car with the modifications would increase in value as most ppl dont want to buy a standard car (or is most ppl just me)
  17. why not just get a t78 or something nice and big.

  21. mine has the wikid auto choke feature. comes with the wikid dual pumper doo hickey on my big full sick big aussie donk.
  22. i have a kakimoto ss exhaust. dump pipe, pod filter and running 11 psi of boost. on the apexi rsm with g-force meter it records my 0-100 as 5.3 seconds. 1/4 as 13.5 and my top speed is 257 (the apexi rsm kept that) (i wasnt daring to take eyes off road). i set my speedo with a gps so it should be spot on.
  23. why not ring jms. they always seem helpful im sure they can tell you how they did it
