aha... the P901 Project (codename for R32 GTR from back in April 1987) was tweaked and tuned at Nurburgring to beat the Porsche 944 (sound familiar?)... and on the 10th of October 1988 it made a best time of 8 minutes 20 seconds... beating the Porsche which was timed at 8 minutes 45 seconds.

had it today at about 4pm for a couple of mins. -
the three used in nurburgring aren't production persay, they're development cars.... which nissan tweaked and tuned to optimise the settings which would then theoretically be transposed onto the production cars... whether or not that happens is up to the manufacturer.

not precise how? thought they were electrical gauges, which are pretty accurate as long as the signal being fed to it is accurate?

just make sure you bridge the connections for low beam so they are constantly on... R32's alternate between high and low beam, and it can be quite detrimental when xenons are flicked on and off. one thing that intrigues me is this whole heat spot thing... thought xenons were meant to be cooler than regular bulbs.
