B180 went in for a service. Pretty comfy sled for carting two little kids around with every conceivable electronic gadget and option being an AMG Line. The roof is 10cm taller than an A Class, other than that it's near identical. But it makes a world of difference trying to load a toddler into a rear facing car seat. The lane departure pre-emtive braking shits me though, the number of times it's had a false positive and just started applying the brakes while driving cos it got confused by a reflective road after rain.

Didn’t think I’d ever see CarPlay in an old as hell R32! added a few spacers to the mounting bracket to make the unit sit flush with the shroud and gap free for a factory look. usability is good. Originally thought I’d need to move the aircon controls down and make a custom bracket, but it seems the head unit is still usable and I can reach it fine in its normal position. On ya Nissan engineers for thinking about ergonomics of a touch screen 30 years ago! -

No worries. Wow V37 with the VR30DTT is an amazing first car. Mine was a 80’s Mitsubishi Colt that I saved up for! Both my kids are still under 4, but the older one has started helping me while wrenching on the cars. -

Oh sorry Justin! I was racking my brain trying to remember names, not sure why I associated “Adam” with 7tune! I’m good, been away from Skylines for over a decade, got family and kids now. Just getting back into owning a 32 but it’s a whole different world now… tax is higher and tech is better. -
Wtf. $1000 for knockoffs? Tell em they’re dreeeeamin!

zomfg @Rezz! How've you been Adam?? Haha sadly yes it's going up for sale, just tidying it up a bit and modding it ever so slightly so I can still drive it to SAU events. -

Car got complied and road registered on club plates. First aftermarket mod 7inch double din Android head unit with CarPlay and a bunch of adaptors so I don’t have to hack into the wiring. -
Should you buy cheap Chinese tyres?
funkymonkey replied to PranK's topic in General Automotive Discussion
On my commuter B Class merc I run Winrun R330 run flats. They feel the same as the Michelins they replaced and so much better than the Pirelli PZ4's that my mate runs on his A Class. The road noise is marginally more according to the noise app on my iPhone at 80km/h by 0.3db. I've heard Sailun's are pretty good too. There are good Chinese brands and ones with terrible QC. There's also heaps of non Chinese brands that manufacture in China. Buy tyres from someone local that you can have a decent warranty and quality conversation with. Why not... tyre compounds and tech have come a long way since we used to question if Kumho's were any good in 2010. Plus I'm not picking up the tab of the corporate motheship sponsoring the F1 or other sporting events. -

I might be selling mine soon. She’s too bone stock - I don’t have the heart to rip into it. -

Oh man that's a sweet GTS4! Such nice mods and a GTR bonnet as well! I think I got rid of mine around the same time. Just bought another one for like 3 times the price now 😭 -
Nice one! Welcome to the forums. A few of us are nursing the old birds back to health.

Is that regular 3M wrap? Should be more durable than that. unless it was melty and someone brushed against it? -
Hello from the US - looking to buy ER34

you won't find many Australian exporters holding stock, it's not the usual business model. They will often act as sourcing agents, so you tell them what you want, and then they actively go an look for the car that matches your criteria. Only used car dealers here hold stock, but you won't find many old imports at used car dealerships (only newer imports from 2015ish onwards.) Japan is a different kettle of fish as there are exporters who make money by the tax refund of exporting cars out of japan, hence it makes financial sense to hold a few cars, let them appreciate in value and then export them. Top Rank etc. do this. -
Depends on the system you're running. Factory 18 gauge wire should be able to handle up to 200W.
-
Reuse existing wiring from the front to the back or from an aftermarket amp in the boot to the front speakers?

I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old. They constantly remind mum that dad's car is faster. 20 years ago I thought killerwasps at wheels was all that mattered. Now, those 4 words "Dad's car is faster/cooler/nicer/fun" is all I live for. The missus is now eyeing off an Evo 9 wagon. The arms race has begun.

@Streeter on the forums can help you grab stuff from YAJ and ship it over as easily as possible. Generic freight forwarders won’t know how to handle car parts. He’s my go to guy for getting stuff big and small.

You could ask @Streeter if he can get it for you and forward it.

Reckon someone colourmatched Calsonic blue? or a poorly matched LM GT-R?
-
Oh my bad, I was thinking of the bonnet support. latch and mounting bracket is a trip to the wreckers. try the S13 bonnet latch, looks remarkably similar: 65601-35F00

If you've got a standard GTR bonnet, then go with this: https://justjap.com/products/jjr-bonnet-damper-gas-strut-nissan-skyline-r32-gtr?currency=AUD You'll need to adjust the struts if you have a fibreglass or carbon bonnet though.
