  1. awesome will be looking at purchasing one of these units shortly along with my e-boost2 controller and maybe a new jvc exad2 head unit, just cos i wanna!
  2. awesome thanks for that i have been surfin around lookin at heaps of different sites lookin at all sorts of things and have since found a few different styles of 'pods' that fit in a din slot but would ideally like to replace the existing ones and keep the same carrier for looks etc. but am yet to try and take the carrier out of the dash to see whats goin on behind there.
  3. just wanted to know if anybody has replaced the guages in the centre console and if so what breeds did they use and was it in the original cluster? or did you have to butcher it to fit them in? i have sen some blitz guages that are in a single din carrier woudl these be usable? also was just looking on nengun and saw some DEFI guages that are designed for fitting into a single din. but cant really make out what the guages are meant to indicate as the pic doesnt show real clear,as well as the description is not real 'descriptive' if any one could tell me would be great.
  4. don really know what they are worth cos i havent been able to find one/any for sale anywhere. but have been told that they cost the dealers around $80 to buy? i tried to have a look on the nismo/jp site but i cant read japanese and they dont have a translated page link, so if any one has any info about these books i would be interested to know what they are worth?
  5. hiya all. i have obtained a copy of nismo catalogue volume 10, but as i have a series2 stagea i have no real use for it so i was wondering if anybody on here would be interested in a swap if they have volume 11? or maybe even to purchase the one i have? also if anybody would be able to point me in the right direction to buy/obtain a copy of all the stagea specific parts/part no's for a series 2 from the nismo catalogue, it would be greatly appreciated. cheers guys. oxford
  6. wow im amazed the last time i posted something like that on a forum i may as well got told that i am very naughty and that i should go to my room! hhaahah good to see that i am not the only one to want to get rid of the pesky limiter. as it was i got to around 4500rpm in top (5sp manual) when it kicked in at a little past the 180 mark, so would be interested to find the end of its rope so to speak. this is with a stock engine/driveline in a series2 only mods so far are koni suspenders, lowered springs and gtr rims. i would like to see what it will do before i put a boost control and cooler on it. if anyone on here has done so in a series2 man. i would like to hear so i know what to expect when its modified further.
  7. in alot of ways i agree with you sydneykid but i am yet to find any one that has fitted an A2A to a series2 without butchering it? if i were to fit an A2A it would be painted matt black but am still looking at the W2A options too. if you know of anyone who has done a series2 fit out i would be keen to see pics or get details of which kit? as all the ones i have seen in the forums have beeen on series1 stags
  8. i have done a quick search for how to get rid of the speed limiter as i hit it 4 times on the way home from work today(isolated country road) at 185klms an hr at 4500 rpm ish. i would like to get rid of this and actually see what the thing can do. are you able to bridge this out or isloate it in some way so i can wind it out and pass my mates modified ss crumpledorre above these speeds?. before the hounding starts i am an ex-racer of bikes and karts and i know the road etc. and you can see for miles if there is anything/one coming the other direction. a group of us use the road for testing of race cars/bikes all the time and the best part about it is that either end of the strip there is about 20k's of tight mountain roads that get the tyres nice and sticky too.
  9. only reason other than being discreet for fitting a water to air type is that you wont have to butcher the front of the car to fit it in there! and you also have less pipework to stuff in the bay.
  10. i am also looking at fitting a water to air cooler and have looked at several options but the water to air option seems to be the way i will go as it is more discreet as well as being a bit more efficient, i will however watch this thread for updates and also opinions
  11. i am looking at the e-boost unit as it is all contained within the single guage pod and the only external part of it is the solenoid itself so there is no hand controller required, it is adjustable for a heap of stuff and it also has flash memory so you can log info then download without having to buy adaptors etc, it is also able to be set up for different amounts of boost for each gear, these settings can also be adjusted on the fly by pressing 1 button!!! thatrs why i am looking at one of these and not some of the others that are out there that require building and setting up

    Petrol Usage

just did a reasonable roadtrip and got 550klms from a tank including around 80klms of town driving from full till the light came on so that would be around 9 or 10ltrs per 100klms? but thats with pretty much stock everything.
  13. i have also looked at those but there is around a 300 dollar price difference and the blitz unit takes up more room in the cabin as well as being apparently more complicated to set up?, adjust etc?
  14. i had a similar noise with my series2 not long after a long trip recently so got the belts all done on the front including the timing belt just to be sure and noises all gone now, all the drive belts were cracked an mechanic said it sometimes happens cos of the chemicals they spray the cars with when they de-bug them for quarantine?. must react with the rubber i spose.
  15. has anyone used an E-Boost controller in a stagea before and if so what sort of success did you have?, was it a S1 or S2 stagea and or a series one or series two E-Boost? i did a search but didn really come up with anything to say there was an existing thread on this subject.
  16. it is still the same car they had advertised all that time ago i bought one same colour but a manual from motorman in springwood qld. they were really good to deal with and cheaper by bout 8000 bucks!!!!
  17. iknow what ya goin thru with the running in part of the new engine i had the same with my neew aprilia when i got it. jus couldn help myself and had to give it a bit before she was due. got in trouble from the service guys when they downloaded the info to see how it was ran in. not sposed to do 10k rpm on a v-twin till after 1000k service. good luck with it

  21. its not really meant to be practical seeing as its a drift car. if you were to make your own i spose you would put a gate in the back
