For anyone interested there will be a 1 hour Sports car race held as part of the AMRS round at Winton on August 25th and 26th. The Intermarque Challenge will be running over the Saturday and Sunday having practice, qualifying and 2 five lap races (one for each driver if two drivers are listed for 1 hour race). On the Sunday the race will be the feature event for the round with the 1 hour "endurance" style race including driver swap if 2 drivers are entered. The round will get national TV coverage (SBS speed Week) as well as international coverage on pay TV in South East Asia and New Zealand. All sports cars are welcome (generally 2 door coupes) Skyline GTST, GTR, 200SX, RX7, Supra, NSX and 3000GT's ect. Currently every round of the series has been won buy a Porsche with Maserati, Ferrari and Dodge close behind them. The series administrators are interested in seeing some Japanese cars out competing with the European and American cars. Unlike a few of the other sports cars series turbo cars are not only able to race but are welcomed as the series organizers drive Turbo Porsche's. payment will not be processed until 14 days prior to the meeting if you request it. yeah, i would like to see the new Peugeot win the race. Rain is meant to be on the way so anything could happen even more i want to see martin get up in the podium from his 5th spot. Now that Creation Autosportif has retired he's my last car left in the race.

For a new Match concept Ford GT you looking around $750 000 for the car. The running, repairs ect also have a much higher price tag. So not quite 3 times.

we were discussing this a few years back at the Clipsall, when looking at the times the GTP cars were not that far from the V8's in speed. Considering the HP difference ect and they had some of the closest racing

maybe . 2-3 years ago you wouldn't have found a bigger fan of the V8's and i would have never thought i would be saying that. I have had a bit to do with the V8's through JB and the more time i spent around them and the more i got involved the less i liked them. Ford has 2 different GT cars a Mustang FR500 and a Ford GT. The Ford GT has very little chance of ever coming over here as it cost 3 times as much as a V8 supercar. This is why you tend to find the people driving the GT's usually own the cars and are The closest holden has is the Corvette. The rules here have changed alot since the mongrel monaro and it subsequently cannot be raced in a national GT series.

ok so far i have found out that there was an Australian Team entered in the 24HR race with their 430C, However due to continual mechanical drama's the car was pulled out back in Feb. The cars are still running with experimental cooling, braking and tyre packages for now until they can get a good consistent reliable car. Look out for them next year as they are eager to get over there. The team was also entered in the Dayton 24hr and pulled the pin on that as well. How ever knowing Johns driving technique i seriously doubt the car would last a lap around there. Will talk to my mates and find out why there was a lack of Ferraris from teh European teams. may have something to do with Le Mans this weekend. The 430GT2 well and truly capable of beating the 997RSR as shown in all FIA / ALMS races this year.
