  1. lol, I played a heapd big part More accurate to the point, if the RTA didn't make a clerical error, none of this would have happened... But you're probably right about no one caring, and that really sucks... but I'm still going to annoy the crap out of them til I have my plates back. This problem isn't going away for me, so why should it for them...
  2. 6 weeks pretty much isn't quickly... and the thread isn't about what actions to take, I think I've taken all the right ones, it's about what to do when the police just don't do their job and dick you around...
  3. I knew someone would do that... 5 words out of the whole essay... suppose I lose a point then? either way, I'm being extremely inconvienced by the police force. They're supposed to HELP people...
  4. Well this officer had no problems with taking them... at least he was careful while doing it... Any info would be helpful I know a few expensive solicitors... but luckily, all it has cost me so far is a few work hours... Easy to say when you're behind a keyboard, I don't think I want to risk it all over a bit of "in your face" action after a long and expensive lawsuit... Why am I getting so upset? The plates are my property, I pay for them. I understand the officer was doing the right thing when he took them (I assume it's the right thing) off of what he thought was an un-registered vehicle... I was ASSURED on the day that the plates would be at Thornleigh RTA by Monday, regardless that it was a public holiday. I went there on Tuesday to sort it out and pick them up... the error was sorted out in ten minutes with the RTA, the car has rego again, but the RTA have not seen my plates... I've spoken to Hornsby Police who passed the buck to Gordon Police, who passed the buck to highway patrol. I now have a number for Highway patrol that so far, has just rung out without any answering service. B-Man, this is my only car, I can normally organise another car if mine goes into a shop for whatever reason, but that is planned... I NEED THIS CAR TO GET TO AND FROM WORK. I had an appointment to go and pick up my plates yesterday at two at Gordon Police Station. I took time off work and the boss' car to get there. When I got there, they were gone, and no one can tell me where they went, or how on Earth I could get them back... I LITERALLY CAN NOT AFFORD to be without a car for 6 weeks without notice...
  5. Well if you were a member, I have been updating them with my actions over the day in the rant thread... It's good readin' I tells ya! I didn't feel like typing it out twice, as it's one hell of a predicament to be in... and luckily, I was at my dads house, installing a sub and amp into a beamer, went up the road to BP to get some electrical tape, headed back, by the time I stopped for him (no safe places to stop) I was about 20m from an empty garage That is where the car sits now... if there was towing to be happening, you had better believe someone who isn't me will be footing the bill... for now, all this has cost me is a few work hours, 8 or 9 years off my life, and a dull long weekend...
  6. Happy bday, I didn't have the net til today... plus I said it in person anyways Does this mean I can have my wii back now??? I'll trade you back... my wii for your curse!
  7. OK, I'm going to explain this once, and only once... The rego of the car was cancelled on the 6th (Friday) unknown to me, and for an erronous reason. A highway patrol officer ran my plates as he went past me, to find the car is unregistered, pulled me over, took the plates, and said if I want to move it, it has to be towed. So he buggered off with my plates, leaving me with an unmoveable car, and one itchy head wondering why the hell my car was unregistered... Went to the RTA this morning (after a long weekend of having no car, this was when they next opened) and asked them to tell my why my rego was cancelled... they said it was due to a defect I had recieved. I produced the ONLY defect notice I have ever received, stamped by the RTA as cleared... after 20 minutes of them talking in back rooms saying "shit, this is a f**k up", they came out to me and said "shit, this is a f**k up". They said it was a duplicate. On the day that i cleared my defect, the person typing it up somehow put through a NEW defect on that day, giving me 21 days from THAT date of rigistration. That was over on the 6th. I got booked on the 7th. Ten minutes later they had me out the door with a registered car, but no plates, after I was ASSURED by the highway patrol that the plates would be at that RTA by that time. So long story short, thanks to a clerical error by the RTA, which is now cleared, the police took my plates (probably the right thing to do from their point of view) and I now have no f**king idea where they are... no one does...
  8. Security beat you. But even then, that's more set up for if a single entity abused you, or failed to take action... Not exactly the best for when the entire force sucks, can't sommunicate and lose your shit... Anyone wanna give me a lift home? Thanks DECI M8 So I have no car, and a job I can't exactly get to... Should they be paying me for loss of time if it comes to that? And what if they need to be replaced? Can I legally hit cops upside the head for being this dumb?
  9. I'm fairly sure they can, seeing as how they are the enforcers of the RTAs laws... and I'm fairly sure they did... cause they did... My plates. Are gone. I don't know where they are, I don't know how I'm getting home, and I don't know how I'll be getting to work until they are found... Edit: Thanks Security, didn't see your post before, I'll look into it...
  10. Thanks Corinne, but I'm serious...
  11. LONG ass story short, the police have my number plates, they have no idea where they currently are, I have personally been to 2 police stations, called 3 and the highway patrol (no answer), been to 1 RTA and called 2 and their central office... I need my plates. I need them today so I can get home. The RTA f**ked up, I had organised to pick up my plates from Gordon Police Station at 2, went there at 2, and now they have f**ked up. So far, no one I have spoken to can tell me where the hell MY PROPERTY is... This is unnacceptable, as far as a public service goes, I have been severly inconvienced. The irony in all this is that both Hornsby and Thornleigh RTA have my mobile number, and have people on standby to call me if they ever turn up... The police can't even tell me if the plates were sent by mail or taken in personally! All they know is that they weren't where they were this morning... So my number plates, that were taken off me for a clerical error by the RTA (which was fixed up in less then 10 minutes this morning, and are now helping me to track them down), are nowhere to be found, and the police force is continusouly passing the buck from one person to another... Is there actually something in place to govern the police force to make sure they are doing their job? PS: I thought up an idea last night... www.ratethatcop.com.au
  12. I have no net at home, so sorry about the late update... 9 entrants (will have to find one more, or buy 1 spare spot) Cheque has not been sent off yet, will sort that out now...
