  1. Re aero I have read race car books, research heaps on the web, and spoken to motorsport engineers and carbon race car gurus on this subject. Also tried and tested and tuned on my car. Re unnnndertrays. Full or if can only do partial under trays, even if only flat reduce drag and indirectly give down force, as the whole car becomes a wing indirectly. This is done by air moving smooth and fast under the car whilst slow over the top, having further to travel, and F1 cars gain 40% approx in down force from doing this. If have room to ad an air dam at front, and rear diffuser at rear even better. Both work on principal of air expanding causing a vacuum, I think is best way of explaining it or negative pressure which pulls the car down. Any angle over about 15% air separates and causes turbulence. The front under trays section needs to be flat then taper up at less than 15% to stop the air separating. IF it goes up then tapers back down it has no effect and I don’t think it works , in fact may just create turbulence. It would probably better just being flat. Proper air dams need to be flat at front then gradual rise less than 15% then be flat and continue under the car. Depending on space you can move this air dam further forward or back to tune desired down force. Add trip strips and rubber lips under the car around the front wheels reduces turbulence also and makes front air dam and rear diffuser work better, as air is cleaner and again faster under the car, reducing drag and making more down force indirectly. This was my first attempt and not right as explained. If over 15% then can use these small vortex generators to keep air attached and rear diffuser as in this case on my car works better. Also the angle of the rear diffuser director plates are at 3 degree angle to act like big vortex generators reducing turbulence as air separates from the car and reducing drag. For more see link. 2. It won't rain small, small chance of a shower long term forcast. Pumping up the slot car a bit more atm.
  3. Yep Baron got it covered, and you are on the job aren't you. Also to save any confusion, these are for R32 GTS-T, GTS-4 and GTR.
  4. Hey yeah Neil what happend to the wave, or were you to busy driving? Neil have you driven this red rocket at OP GP?
  5. Nice Neil, vid from open wheeler is trick. There was another session where I was chasing you for about 4 hot laps, and nothing in it. Do you have a vid of that? It won't show my car, as I was behind you, but interesting to see your times which can be measured from vid? A motorsport engineer is coming to UAS tomorrow, checking roll centres etc, to squeeze a bit more out the speed boat. It will be good to have Merli out again with us at the track, it has been a while. ZED V GTR Oran
  6. The SLot Car will be there, how could I not. Lots of Nissans, crazy fool drivers, awesome track and soon to close. This will be the second time at Oran that week for me and the Mad Max mobile, and make 15 track days in last twelve months. dnissi and others keep an eye on your mirrors.
  7. Re camber I run up to 5 degrees Neg, although cut the middle bolt down a little. Some want less neg camber as car lowered and road use only, so we cater for a little less neg, so need to be able to adjust longer, and then others want to adjust shorter for more neg camber for track use.
  8. It seems t the SAU crew, those with R32, don't fully appreciate or understand the virtues of these arms. A lot of the zed crew forum gang are aware of on going problem with bending aftermarket arms or flogging out OEM or after market bushes due to this binding, check out the link. Zed g Bottom line is we have to get 100 pairs made to make it work. UAS has to commit to a bunch of money to do a production run. Let alone pay for many hours spent on this project, along with Fulcrum suspension engineers. It will go ahead anyway, as enough demand to stock some, and also getting orders from other workshops and suspension and race car specialists in Australia, as well as overseas. This is your chance to get at a much cheaper price and start to get your steering and suspension to work properly, and unrestricted, and thus perform better. Plus save money indirectly, with less tyre ware by relieving play in front end, less load on power steering, and not have to replace worn bushes or replace bent aftermarket arms.
  9. Any Skyliners going to NSCC track day this SUnday 17th May at Wakey. The SLot Car is going land ots of quick 200's going to. Weather prediction is 16c moslty sunny day. For More info
  10. The Slot Car Before and after. 8 years in development and improving. Does an average of 10 track days a year, and keeps going strong.
  11. It was a good day and great conditions, best ever I have seen. I loved hammering past fats on the straight, although over did it as high revs in 5th on the right hand side of the straight towards then end is not agood idea and ran out of black stuff. THe off tore front left tyre as hit the guard. Had a great go with Neil and his Radical, trying to keep up with him around the tight stuff, and then catching up on the straight. My timer was turned off at the time which I realised after about few of the best laps I did all day. Then turned it on and did a 1 min 5.4 but felt faster previous laps and Neil said he was doing 1 min 4 's on the day, so good enough considering. Then my timer was paying up which is odd giving crazy times. Duncan did a nice job driving it and Ron Wizard had a drive also. He kept it fast and smooth after a little off on the horse shoe, getting used to the no brake booster.
  12. To be fair though Bozman would have to carry an extra 110kg of weight, on the drivers side. Migth be a bit closer but I still say Boz would win, same car same day. I am sure you would give him a run.
  13. Good guess and this is Wakey. This is as it looks now.
  14. Yes but not on this day, it will be me and Duncan will have a go. No fats you won't fit in it.
  15. No hope of rain Pete, Weatherzone now predicts 15 c and sunny. It will be good to have you out again. What out for black Mad Maz machine in your mirrors.
  16. Perfect conditons this Sat 17c and sunny. Weather
  17. Sorry to hear Duncan and you cop it on the chin well though. You are finding and overcoming lots of problems and running out of bad luck and sorting issues so light at the end of the tunnel. Hmmmm get a VG once sorted no probs, just no front diff. Sam Markov runs a Acusump in his R32 GTR with over 400wkw and no probs. Has some smarts in it though.
  18. I was not warned at all but could have been. Funny thing is I had in n my mind as I pusehd the boost button a little early coming onto the straght and did a big fish tale, slight over correction coming onto the straight on one lap. There is enough to think about controlling these cars to have to think about getting black flagged and incorrectly for drifting. There should be a warning to.
  19. Go Ron and I have same PPS9's now and aiming for 1 .03 old tyres though so maybe a 4. GTR Jason migth be bring the Drift come circuit zed, powered with LS1 turbo. So a few zeds going and some S15's to, plenty of Skylines to mix it with should be a top day. Great time of year to weather wise.
  20. The Slot Car will be there, keeeeeen.
  21. Wakey would be good after Oran has closed and E Creek would be good in ways, and get more spectators as in Syndey, and P I same reason but they cost a lot more. Wakey is good for veiwing.
  22. Hey Noddy sorry if I messed up your time a bit in the end, I thought when the light went out you had to go. Car got sorted and I travelled a long way and it was my best chance to do a time.
  23. Team UAS got back 3am this morning. I received a phone call last night in transit to say we came 2nd outright, not sure how. Rediculous Mark being given the cold shoulder treatment, simply trying to tame the beast. Big thanks to Noddy for storing The SLot Car in his shed over the weekend, and filling us in on the track. Your car and you steering it is very impressive for few mods it has. Best lap I did was 1 min 9.48. Tracky and fun track. Good to catch up with everyone and meet WRX Killer, Brad Botcher and see his GTR which sounded strong down the straight, with BOV going off between short changes with sequential box. The Dat Nissan Nats are every two years and I think the next one is Adelaide.
  24. Hey Funky monkey where did you think I had been? Mainly, actually almost only here on motorsports section of forum. Yep this event will be a big one and a good one.
