  1. Yep I had a bad cold on the last Superlap, and why I was not jumping up and down on the Vid, lucky I had Johnny Boston there to rev it up, and he did a great job driving and on vid. Lots of good cars gearing up for this next one. More new entrants to with tough cars, including Sam Markov's immaculate and fast R32 GTR. This next one will be bigger and better than the last one. Yes in the off season we are pumping the Slot Car up. Better brakes, suspension, more aero, lighter, PPG dog box and more. fats get that 31 out there, you know you want to.
  2. That Torry must have been the white Sports Sedan with massive gaurds and rubber. The event was not promoted well and very late as it was approved late I heard. More Pics
  3. Yes Sam builds and works on race cars for a living, and his car is always impressive and immaculate. We talk a lot on the phone, and it was great to catch up. He got my attention last year at Phillip Island. We shared a garage at this event and lots of people were coming to our garage to check out the two Nissans. I have been to his workshop, which is big immaculate shed 25 mins out of Albury on his property. Times
  4. Bring the RX7 Baron I haven't seen arotor blow up for at least a week. BBQ is under cover and only light rian, all good and cars will love it.
  5. Wow another big SAU roll up. Not to hot lathugh may be a little wet. As always it willl be an interesting day.
  6. Hey Roy, not cheap although if you grind your cradle bushes flush it raises everything about 25mm as mentioned as long as clearance to chassis is ok, which on R32 GTS-T is ? BTW I noticed no added vibration, although I expected to as locks the cradle to chassis with no bush. We also made a custom lighter Chrome Molly upper control arm in rear like R33/34 type have, as it does not need to go around the shock like Z32 and R32 have, which Nissan realised and lighter. The front upper are custom pivoting models which don't wear out or bend as they don't bind. Re struts I have tried various spring rates, Tein RA, D2 ( waste of time) HKS, Tein Flex, Tein RE, Bilstein and now actually half and half as in Billy's in rear as abit softer than the Tein for Wakey. Hard to pic although I am now looking at what I think is the ultimate for the price range and that is Brillstein PSS9 adjustable shock version. They have huge range of adjustment
  7. Re the rear cradle mods I can say it works, as we did to The Slot Car and I went to Wakey last Sat after completing both front and rear geometry changes, by raising pivot points, which raises roll centre, did a PB of 1 min 4.65 which was .8 sec faster than previous 1 min 5.4 when I had done rear pivot points and partial front, and best prior to that was 1 min 6.18 with a few other changes but the main one was raised roll centre. Car is a lot more predictable and flat in corners and does not slide or pitch like it used to, and much safer and easier to drive. Dunc and Mark you will love it. See link for more. Slot Car Mods.
  8. Yes Duncan I thought something like that may have been the case, cross your fingers they last a few meetings. Re Accusump, I run one on my speed boat Zed, and motor has not had a prob and has not been out of the engien bay for aobut 3 .5 years.. Sam Markov runs one with over 4004wkw for years in his race car and no issues either. Dry sump is obviously better but cheap go between. Funny GTR owners think zeds are unreliable. My zed and I know different. Beer Baron, waiting............
  9. Hey Mark and Duncan getting there, and tell me you are not running shinny hard crack for sure manifolds on a race car?? Giant runs stock cast, NO CRACK, manfiolds with no probs and makes big power. Factory manifolds are not a bad design unlike the zeds. Ported and extrude honed even better, although can't get any more I may have one set left.
  10. My boat did 139.67mph with 456 rwkw although only 10.70 with 1.57 best 60 foot. It had 540 pound springs at the time in rear, yes way too hard and wouldn't weight transfer, and front diff not there. PS Good power Dave and good result. PPG helical dog box would have less power drain I guess over stock synchro box??
  11. FLoppin impressive. Booted it into the 9's. I was at the WSID same night with the cardi camp and at the time I was impressed with my mate Rn ( Wizard ) in his ZedTT PB 12.009 and 60foot 1.577 Street ET tyres and 12 zeds all up there. Then I get the SMS from Russ. WOW. Raised the bar again. What records is this, must be one or two?
  12. Beer Bitch and six pack great idea you cheeky you. Like Thomas Edison found many ways a light bulb would not work before he found how to make it work. Frustration and set back adds character and appreciation to the end result and success is a journey anyway, bla bla.. I thought about running without power steering but decided not, as the small weight and power improvement is not worth it , and with wide tyres it would be too hard to steer. 4wd even more load and suggest not. Definitely get the new Ross Racing balancer which has vulcanised rubber and two big O Rings. It absorbs resonance from crank better than factory one which RB26's need, and stronger. Also under drives water pump 10% and power steering by 20%, which will help with high revving race car. I would also go Greddy oversized pulleys. I did both on my zed and works well. Peddle box is s a big job but one of the best things I did and brakes work heaps better and much more feel, booster is OK if retain ABS otherwise lock brakes all the time. Hope this helps, and keep up the great work Mark and Dunc and keep your eye on the prize.
  13. GTR Jason anyone can go in a straight line, not hard? Circuit is much more of a challenge and fun.
  14. Yep 2rismo thinking about the straight line thing. Going out this Wednesday with the zed gang, around 10 or more going I believe, but I am not taking the Slot Car as it is all pulled apart modifying stuff. Will go back when I get my PPG dog box.
  15. I am holding out for R35 GTR V spec, just need sponsor or something or another minor miracle. What about this car for track weapon? How about a 4wd carbon body, custom V8 with 2 x Hayabusa heads, dry sump, 420hp and only 500kg, awesome aero and very low height and centre fo gravity. Illegal for Superlap though. Track Beast
  16. Yep all same callipers, pads, rotors. R33 has cast iron knuckle or hub and zed are alloy like GTR. My roster is Grand Turismo 6 days a week and some Sundays. When we get around to putting the VQ38 in the slot car it will fall over 500rwkw and alloy block and lighter component motor alone will be about 100KG lighter. Plus carbon Targa roofs nearly done, carbon tail gate and Perspex windows and lighten passenger door it should be a bit over 1100kg, throw in the PPG dog box still scaping money to pay for it. Throw in big aero, what do you say Bozman will be in the top 5 at least? PS Sydney kid sent my softer rear springs yesterday, which will also help.
  17. Hey Russ you are famous again, check this link and website about Superlap. Lots about the R35 GTR, and this is a zed owner and Z fans web site. SUPERLAP
  18. Hi Peddler this no doubt going to be a contender. As long as it gets the power down, as it will need some flared guards and decent rubber and suspension and brakes etc, and you know.
  19. GRrrrrrr I hate thieves, and could be me next I have only had 8 break ins in last 11 years. Although I made new place like a maximum security gaol. You know me Steve if they come here with any of this stuff I will cable tie them and wait for Police to turn up. I suspect this stuff will be in shipping containers going OS. The cops probably know this but? and need to inform customs to keep an eye out in future. Our laws are so piss weak even when you catch the bastards.
  20. I came across this YouTube vid from USA and pretty good promo and SUPERLAP fastest growing Motorsport in USA and soon to be here if not already. EVOs seem to do the job in Japan, USA and did well here and guess in Europe also?
  21. Hey Adrian when are you coming to do corners, and how is your car? EGO's, opinions, ideas, throw in some false statements. Sounds like a forum and why we need moderators, police, speed humps, regulations etc Adult humans can't be trusted to look after themselves it seems. I did not mention drag racers.
  22. West yes most zeds have done way more k's than they show and have been neglected and trouble and most are worn out shit boxes. They do have tight engine bay and can run hot, bottom radiator hose is not hard to get to, and no need to touch the motor. Once sorted they are much more reliable with far less money needed to spend than an RB at the track. They NEVER spin bearings or get oil starvation or oil surge problems, NEVER crack blocks, NEVER have crank or crank balancer problems. No need for snazzy expensive oil pumps, water pumps, baffles, restrictors ect. Hey GTR Jason how good are they??????
  23. Hey yes Wolverine these VG30 nuggets make great moorings if you take the pistons out so the mud settles in well.
  24. Good to see you are back Bozzo and thought you might have been blown out. Let’s keep this thread going until 100 at least and surely be the biggest thread of all time. GTR Jason Bozzo only fights my track times battles, lol, although it is not the size of the dog in the fight you know. Let's not go there thow Roy and GTR Jason, all good and back onto Superlap. He Bozzo these GTR's had better watch their backs as we are coming. Actually if you could only get them to stand still though as I know BSM are up to things too, Russ and Marks R34 will be King next year though it seems. Re the Slot Car I currently have the engine cross member out, and spent a few hours linishing off the excess metal, and welding in a few spots to strengthen. Also welded some Chrome Molly plate to reinforce where I just redrilled the bolt holes higher to raise the front roll centre. Carbon targa roofs nearly done then attacking passenger door next, as this is all stock with electric windows and all still, then tail carbon tailgate and perspex window. Aero link. Aero Link GT500 F1 aero
  25. RB26 not much lighter you will find if any? Nissan smartened up and did this and put an alloy V6 in the new R35 GTR. People often ask why I don't race a GTR. RB26 fans don't read this below................................. Just to compare the VG30DETT which has not come out of the car for three years, has done zillion track days and this one makes up to 438rwkw has stock, block and crank, water pump, oil pump, sump other than little plate we Tig weld in to stop oil flying out of the well, stock manifolds, throttle bodies and plenum. Much more reliable and cheaper than RB26 with similar power for track use.
