Yes Bris but cost and don't need to much more power but it would be nice. Cubes equals torque. Check this out. Superlap info from USA SIte.

Why, because JB is at least a second faster than me, and easiest second I wil ever get. I am not slow he is a freak and does it more so. I drove it 13 track days last year, so plenty of fun. As a business and representing my company it would be a luxury for me to drive it at this event. Apart from Mark Berry how many cars in pro class are driven by the owner??? Duncan drives it no probs and lucky fats won't fit in it. I could not deal with Pete being faster than me also. Engine swap on the way VQ30 100kg lighter, there is asecond or two straight off.

Yep for sure.

Yep and a tough zed at the very start hey? We are pumping it ready for the next one.

Sau Nsw Oran Park South Track Driver Training Day
Boosted Zed replied to Neil's topic in Events Archive
Well done Neil, Duncan, and others for organsing and running this day. Good roll up after all. Neil crazy spin on the dog leg, did you hit the ripple strip? I did and cracked my gear box, as staddled the dog leg and hit cooling fins we had welded to the gear box. It atualy cracked the case we found out when loading on the trailer. I lost 5 th gear so finished early, lucky I did as losing fluid. Good to catch up with Nick ( Blitz ) and others have not seen in a while. Duncan very good time 47 secs considering conditions. I see Noddy made it home and yes big trip for a quick play. A very quick car. Saw some crazy having a big go in silver R31. Looked like he was trying to really cook his brakes and brake them? Doing lap after lap with brakes on fire? Did you drive it home? Good to see someone having a big go. White VR station wagon was also crazy, what happened to it and did you get any oil on the track? Sad day no more Oran. -

Big Brake Kit For R32 Gtr
Boosted Zed replied to SRB's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Correct top shelf quality too. My rotors are the cheap part brand new Alcon pre bedded 48 vane cresent slot way less than those PFC or V8 Supercar current model as old stock and no one uses anymore, suits me. Yes talking to fats about a quality cheap brake set up how about Brembo Big mono bloc 996 GT3 cup 6 piston callipers, 365mm by 32mm slotted rotors 48 curved vane, annodised alloy hat and adapters, pads, braided lines etc for $4300 the lot. Requireat least 5 sets to be worth while. -
Big Brake Kit For R32 Gtr
Boosted Zed replied to SRB's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yep Bris fraction under 2.5kg per side lighter than the 997 cup package. Rotors are 375mm 48 vane 55mm anulas ( swept area of rotor ) 997 380mm 72 vane 65mm anulas. I don't do endurance racing and have good cooling, so this set up is going to be better. Callipers are billet alloy and wasted down to minimum weight, compared to cast alloy 997, which are slightly bigger and use a much bigger pad. I have not tried it yet but 5kg less un sprung weight whould be much better. -
Hey great to see Noddy is coming to town. Last chance to run at this track, so have to be in it. The SLot Car will be there also and show you the lines of this track. Maybe I can also pay you back some hospitality and have your car stay in my shed, very welcome, you must at least visit whilst in town.

Big Brake Kit For R32 Gtr
Boosted Zed replied to SRB's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I could scare you easy then Troy. My latest brake adapters and hats cost heaps more than this. However top shelf custom stuff, using 7000 series alloy to make radial mount big radial mount rack off adapters, with pockets machined to save around 100 grams per adapter. Hats same material and pockets machine to waste donw where strength not needed, for further weight saving, then all hard annodised. With special floating hat nuts and bolts etc and one off set for programming and machiningetc many thousands. Pic below is my old 997 Cup brake adapters, compared to new AP Racing Sprint V8 Supercar caliper adapters with pockets machined. Also R35 GTR brakes are big but not very good as heavy and no cooling. -

The SLot Car will be there, how could I miss this last chance. -
Hi gang, sorry for not keeping an eye on this, and yes Pete gave me a shove. Anyway we are getting two version made, one for road- track cars and another for race cars, from memory option for 10mm longer and 20mm shorter, and standard length to 30 mm shorter for race cars. Also there has been a slight improvement and change in fixing the main body, now using a cotter pin, which is getting made. No extra cost. They are delayed, yes, and still a few weeks away. I will update with pics and or info. If you get road - track version you can always cut it shorter if needing more neg camber, if turns into a race car only. I have the shorter prototype on my Zed race car, and can go up to 5 degree neg. I have used with no issues for about 3 years, suspension works better as does not bind, steering is lighter and has more feel, and it does not wear out. Re camber, the road- track version should range from about .5 degree neg to 3 deg max, and race from about 1.5 deg neg to 4.5 deg neg. These are estimates as depends on height of the car, and if has stock length lower control arm and inner pivot point is stock, or moved outwards, as some race cars do this mod, in which case you can probably go up to 6 degrees neg.

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
Boosted Zed replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Dirt Garage should be in an F1 team. They could use your talents of taking it up atm. Actually why not just start your own, rather than share all your good ideas? -
Re cutting outer steering arms we had to do this as they had bottomed out and the wheels were still massively towing in. With different offset and narrower tyres or pumped guards, teh lower control arms could be extended it would be ok. Cutting them was not a biggy and gives user the option as too short is worse. The lack of steering stop is very not good as the arm over extends then comes back on itself, potentially damaging the rack and drive shaft boots. It can be fixed by welding a post onto the lower arm, which Ikea F should do.

Ouch this clutch has coped a hard time and let go big time. Looks like a rag clutch ( organic plate) no good for heat or racing. Re air cooling, no pics to show as haven't taken any, other than probably some on my car which would be on our site in motorsports section. No bling parts, it is more drilling and leaving things out, although you can run a duct in and out of bell housing as some race cars do. GTR's have small rubber vents at top of bell housing, which is more than most cars have and ok for high performance standard road car, but imagine how hot it gets in this almost sealed relatively small area. Also helps cook the gear oil, along with the often unshielded after market staino engine pipes, right close to the gear box. Imagine if you had full face wheels and full dust shields, your brakes would melt, not quite the same although lots of energy going through equivalent of one rotor. Bottom line is if a car is going to the track with much more hp than it was born with, you should do counter measures, as everything gets stressed a lot more, and everything gets a lot hotter. My single plate clutch has lasted for many years, mainly as ari cooled. I know not 4wd which puts extra load and lighter, but using wide sticky semi slicks or previously old slicks and hanging on to up to 400 plus rwkw, with an average of 10 track days a year. R34 GTR have a series of alloy fins moulded to gear box for cooling. I have done something similar also on my car.

Hi Jack, and good choice Andrew. You realise your car is late model R32 and has pull type clutch, so you will need to convert everything over to push type? I guess who you bought this from advise on this? That silver R32 GTR here the silver one has one of these clutches, and nice to drive yet strong. FYI car is on hoist looking at us, waiting, with The SLot Car sleeping underneath atm.

Our clutch specialist checked the old clutch and says the 4 spring Extreme are a problem and the 6 spring ones they do are ok. Measured the clamp load to be 1220kg and can increase this and make 6 button, and would be fine, espcially with air cooling we do. I have single plate clutch 6 button in my car for many years and no problem. Heat kills clutches, and mostly sealed bell housing is bad enough for big hp road cars, but if going to the track they get very hot. Get some air in and out is the trick.

Yes will get road come track car length, and track car shorter ones to suit also. Both should have plenty of adjustment, and easy to adjust to, on the car.

Oh deer the confident ones are beering it up already. I was out ther warming up the track for you guys yesterday. Paul don't mention the smoke. Times -
I was just talking to Andrew about our fats sort of behaving himself, and here he is like a champion. My car is a wedge yes or as you call it a chock you nugget. Front end and bonnet is at an angle unlike GTR's, free down force. Zed also has more of a slope of the windscreen, which is lower by a few inches. Another reason to race a boat.
