id say you will end up with a finished product like the 34 RB26 engine...the polishing is definately the way to go...but horses for courses i guess......i dont really need anything at the moment but an IOU would be accepted

Hi sydney kid...I have a sandblast cabinet so i blasted them with glass beads first then they were polished to a mirror finish...next the surface must be free from all polish and foreign matter(its extremely important...more so than with other paints as this paint is transparent and if you get fish eyes or silicon spots then you have to start again)The paint is 2k and must be painted in a completly dust free enviroment as any dust or crap in the paint will show up and a big black spot( this is due to the candy gathering around a speck of dust..therefore a darker patch in that area)The heavier the material is applied....the darker it becomes as i said in the above post,very shapey parts are very difficult to get the surface looking uniform.The part should then be baked at approx 80 degrees....obviously its not spray can material...its a 2K product by a japanese company called ROCK the colour available are very wide from blue purple gold green red and can be mixed to acheive a custom colour........Its important to use the correct material as normal candy will not stick to the polished surface,i guess some adhesion promoter may make it stick but i am unsure on how this would affect the finish......I am quite sure this is the product that Nissan used on there 34 GTR engines from that factory as when i blasted it off there was no primer or nothing under the original paintwork,I remember i painted some R34 covers for a 34 that was repaired when i was in japan and 99 percenet sure its the same stuff i got from the nissan dealer........the covers could have been painted over the original finish but a inferior finish would be acheived Hope that helps I still have some material left if you need a set done

depends on how good you do the job...ie sealers and stuff....however anodized parts do fade ...as far as leaving jobs to the professionals......leave stuff to them and it never gets done...Just turn up and say i want my covers and i will pay you for what you have done on them....then when he gives you a price and pay him double what he wants...then tell him that he better take the duoble amout coz its the last time he will be seeing you...also tell him that the extra money is compensation for the other 100 people that you will be telling not to go and use him....I really cant understand business's...they winge when they got no work and screw you around when there is work...

step1...go to famous coatings "specialist"in thomastown in victoria....Step 2 Get jerked around by a bunch of lying pricks......Step 3 set up and do your own.....the old saying applys...if you want a job done ....do it yourself! However this can be quite dangerous if care is not taken....I could post up step by step but some people might end up blowing themselves up

yeah thats the dodgy fake carbon look.....i am in the process of making real carbon centre covers.....

its baked enamel (2K)The covers and plenum have been polished first then the paint applied.....Its quite tricky to apply as they have lots of shapes and angles and paint such as this candy is hard enough to apply on flat surfaces ...theres also the issue of applying it to a mirror like surface,Coz it runs easy.

The engine covers are not anodized but i have painted them with a special paint and it looks almost the same...its kind of hard to tell by the pics

why should an ABS light come on all the time when the ABS module fails....after all the ABS does work all the time does it?

i think what he is trying to say is that light came on below 80klms because you had a fault in the system not because it was working and had a fault....

put the original one in the chuck and then angle the tool to the same angle and then take the reading...then make you new one and put the same angle on it....why dont your machinists know this???Its not so difficult
