My father bought a BA falcon XR6 ute a few months ago...although i have driven it before i have borrowed the car for a few days and i have to say its not a bad thing......Very smooth power delivery, nice top end in fact it feels like an electric engine. Its quite funny actually when dad said he wanted an XR6 ute i suggested he get the turbo version....he is 65 years old and its the first new car in his life... The old man has hit positive pressure for the first time !(first turbo car he has driven as he is a bit big to fit in my GTR!) ;)

Clutches GTR - Push or Pull, Twin or Triple
ylwgtr2 replied to meshmesh's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
push type clutchs are better for high horsepower applications....i hear you can get more clamping pressure out of a push type clutch -
Thanks for the compliment nark, but everyone is equall....all our minds are the same...its up to the individual to want to learn about stuff and not just say i want it and dont give a toss how it works!

278 kw @ wheels standard turbos and internals R34 GTR
ylwgtr2 replied to jezzrrr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Dont mean to interupt your thread but seeing as tho i got a 34 i thought it would be good to compare results.....I got 245kw with 1 bar boost, ganador cat back pipe, japanese "Sift" rewritten ecu...the rest was all standard...i then fitted HKS manifolds,HKS dumps,GT2530's and a trust plenum and at 1.1 bar boost got 298kw.Now fitted HKS cams and gears havent fitted the engine yet so havent dynoed yet....still has the standard front pipe which i will replace after a short dyno run when its running again -
hahaha yes its quite impressive isnt it?Its a jaguar V12 with 2xXJ6 heads fitted...its is an absolute work of art....billet cam cover, billet inlet manifold, billet sump..its breathtaking

looks great....good work! -
I am after a good strong reliable engine...thats why i used those internals....the car gets cornered really hard (twisty fun stuff....not so high speed)thats why i am thinking dry sump...I learn my stuff from trial and error ....some books and the internet can be way off but also some people i know also have knowledge that i have gained access to and learnt off...and you would be suprised on who these people are.....a peice of one persons mind and a peice of another and put it together and you got a good bit of info...however storing it can be a problem sometimes ;)however some people dont know about a certain thing you ask them and they guess but not telling you they guess and more often than not...they are so far wrong its not funny! This is done sometimes due to people being embarrest to admit they dont know (and some of the time they are from popular workshops!)I have alot of respect for very intelligent people that say "jeeze i really dont know about that" Bottom line is we ALL learn new things everyday but unfortunatly some people dont want to share them....some of us do....i dont know that much but what i do know i am willing to share!I enjoy motivating people hence my posts/pics...they are not to show off or anything else...i hope they are welcomed!I learned a hell of a lot from the builder of this unique engine...sorry for the speach

White R34 GTR blasts cops.
ylwgtr2 replied to R33s-Goesoff's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Once i got done speeding and i pulled over and had a go at the cop..i told him that me doing 80 in a 60 was more safe than him doing 60 in a 60 in his bucket of bolts...he agreed with me and said"after we signalled to pull you up i turned to the other officer in the car and said Fark if he decides to go we are gonna have to get the chopper out to catch him in that...we dont have a hope!" -
no....Apart from the flowed head i am getting i do everything myself...right down to the block boring....so the money you guys pay other people on doing stuff...i get to spend on the parts...i would be interested to see how much work some other people do themselves....i find it interesting to learn about stuff from actually doing it yourself apart from just paying someone or reading on the internet....My mind is a like a dry sponge!I look for stuff to absorb and hope other people can also learn from the things i have learnt...this is why i aint usually at any functions or partys ect...i can always be found in a workshop or machine shop somewhere......usually playing with something out of the ordinary!
-
well u obviously kno more about it than me....i know nothing...why am i doing this...i hope it runs maybe.... i should take up knitting

as pictured any Qs please email [email protected] $1300 Cheers Troy

oh a simple one....just take the sh1t off and put it back on after.....a mate of mine got done the full hog(Big turbo, external waste gate, custom plenum ect) and when he got there they had laminated pics of the engine bay from when he got done...he fitted a standard motor the guy just came over pulled the hood then closed it then walked away...its not a major check out...should be easy for you...
-
is it the full emmisions test at ford or toyota or is it an EPA inspection?
-
i would have to say that if the waste from a bleed valve is plumed back into the air intake it would be ok *in a forest gump voice*----->"and thats all i have to say about that"
-
i have the following stuff...HKS GT2530's,HKS manifolds&dumps,HKS Cams&springs and a Greddy Plenum.....I also have Nismo gasket set,HKS pistons and HKS conrods here but i am waiting for my Nismo flowed head thanks to my good friends at kazzama so i am waiting until i get that before i build up a new bottom end... this will most likely include a dry sump set up .I have been gathering dyno data from standard setup then turbo fitment then greddy plenum and the next run will be cam data...then we will know what does what
-
Fitted the head back on today and dialled in the camshafts,Fitted the OS quad plate clutch......i also made a carbonfibre backing plate to replace the standard metal one(fits behind the cam gears....here is some pic

ylwgtr2 replied to jezzrrr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I will ask a mate of mine in melbourne on this one he is in the turbo trade ....beleive it or not he actually knows the guy that designed them on the 34!Also a snipit of info.....the same guy that designed the 34 turbos designed the BA falcon turbo! -
WTF Engine conversion,R34 ECU????If your not sure about something it may be better to not say anything at all!!!I mean i find the same answer when i ask anything anywhere these days...people seem to take a guess about stuff. The screen can be wired to suit any car...i have the wiring diagrams around somewhere...
