  1. normal phone user: where did i put my phone? iphone user: where did i put my iphone? shits me how so many iphone users only refer to their phone as "iphone". i'm also amused by the older generation who uses an iphone and thinks it's the only smart phone on the market. had some guy in at work showing the boss an app on his iphone and my boss (who isn't that technology savy, and owns an iphone but thinks it's shit) says "do they have an app for that?" the guy said "it's a $1000 iphone, of course there is...." .................................. so i said "i can get that app for my $200 android phone"
  2. i think the terrain makes it a lot more interesting that what the basic track layout would have you believe. same thing applies for a lot of tracks (bathurst would be much less exciting without the massive altitude difference)
  3. the new nose gives me the impression that it may have a bit of flex to it. probably won't, but for some reason that curved look just makes me think of flex
  4. i laughed so hard when i recently saw a story about 2 mac viruses infecting a few hundred thousand macs only a few days/weeks apart
  5. they do have the neo engine, but if the engine cover has been taken off the engine looks very much like the standard rb25. only major difference in looks is the throttle body setup (other small differences, but throttle body is the easiest to spot)
  6. most likely be the gasket, but you will need the head machined either way. cheaper than a new head though.
  7. this. don't put a nismo thermostat in with a lower temp rating. not good for street use.
  8. i should just point out that there is no such thing as a RB25DETT, unless someone has bolted a second turbo to it. the standard motor is a RB25DET (one T for Turbo. the second T is for Twin Turbo, which yours won't have unless it has been modded, like i said)
  9. the general public think not running a bov is worse for the turbo than it actually is. sure it isn't the best for the turbo, but it isn't going to kill it in a few weeks like some people think.
  10. pretty sure even going through all the work of changing the motor and getting an engineers cert would still be illegal for other reasons than posted above. i may be wrong, but i have a feeling that replacing the engine with a different one that the car originally came with is classed as an engine mod, which P platers aren't allowed to do just to clarify what i mean by "different one to what the car came with", replacing a rb25de with another rb25de from the same model car is ok, replacing a rb20de in a r32 with a rb25de from an r33 isn't allowed
  11. the proposed track reminds me a bit of barbagello (or whatever the track was that the v8's raced on on the weekend)
  12. nothing really dodgy about it, except for the fact that it's where i live, lol. if you are driving north on the highway you will go through it (highway runs through the centre of town). but yeah, there's pretty much nothing there worth stopping for. save your time for the sunny coast and noosa (an hour south of gympie)
  13. i had to make a choice about jobs just after i shut my business. i got a job doing what i was doing in my business, but also got offered a job as an electrical trade assistant. $ per hour was about the same, but the TA job was going to be 6 days a week, 12 hours a day. the other job was 4 days a week, normal business hours, and the occasional 5 and 6 day weeks when needed. i took the job with less hours and am extremely glad i did. it's a great place to work, and great people to work with. i work in noosa and the amount of people from new zealand (and england for that matter) there is pretty amazing. a lot of them come over for 6 months of the year
  14. pc because i don't like penis in or around my mouth
  15. having said that, if i had a track in my backyard, i wouldn't let random people roll up an drive around on the track
  16. don't get me wrong, it doesn't suddenly make the car a slug to drive on gear changes, etc. nissan had it down near the cooler on the s13, etc.
  17. i use the "no time" excuse because i simply don't have the time to take the car to a mechanic to get done. but i do take that into account when pricing the car as well. having said that, the cars i have sold "as is" have always then passed rwc's first time with no issues either. most of the stuff a car may fail a rwc for is easily checked yourself. as long as the tyres are good, there's no oil leaks, the brake pads are good and it drives well (no weird noises or vibrations) then there won't be much trouble with it passing a rwc. and besides, a car can be a complete lemon despite passing a rwc. they don't check actual condition of the engine, etc. just check that it is safe for the road. hence the fact that you can have a car pass a rwc that could be defected due to illegal mods.
  18. i dare say that the insurance needed to let the public use the track/have an event there would be one of the reasons why he doesn't
  19. his last 2 races he's gotten off the line as good (bahrain) or better(china) than vettel.
  20. my boss went over to NZ a few weeks back. went into a bike shop. there was a bike in there that we sell at work for $419, it was about $600 over there. goes to show just how much having a small population (small buying power) can have an effect on things. in a lot of cases NZ companies join up with australian companies to try and get a better price, but they have to pay extra freight charges on the small amounts that they do buy. oh and the government doesn't take 70% of the price of fuel in NZ. it has a fuel excise which is just under 60c, and then whatever GST is. so on the $2.19 you paid the other day, the government took just under 80c.
  21. no, we're just sick of the same questions getting asked every 3 days because the OP figures that they are the first skyline owner to ever have asked that question in the nearly 10 years this forum has been around......
  22. as cowboy said, as far as ebook readers go, they are a completely different animal to a tablet. they are designed to do one thing and they do it much better than anything else. battery life is in the weeks, not hours like a tablet is. to put it into perspective, they say that a kindle battery will last about a month of constant use with the wifi turned off, and 10 days of constant use with the wifi turned on. i think they also cause less eye strain when reading for long periods of time as they are more like looking at a book
  23. most likely it is running rich because of the issue you have, not because of the o2 sensor. the issue is probably causing the car to run too rich for the ecu to use the o2 sensor to lean it out
  24. run the engine for 30 seconds or so, turn it off, let it sit for about a minute and then check the oil level. if it is still well over the max level then you could drain a bit out. if it is about at the full mark then it isn't so much of a drama.
  25. they are a pretty highly strung engine. that's why their economy sucks donkey balls for a 2.5L engine. gearing isn't that much worse than any other small engined car. they don't have the torque to run tall gearing like bigger cube engines. if they did have tall gearing then they would be shockingly slow (in the same way that if falcodores had shorter gearing they would give mildly modded gtst's a run for their money).
