  1. yes it can be done, but it will be well down on power compared to a stock non turbo skyline. it will have about as much power as a hyundai excel, but weigh a few hundred kgs more. and i'm not being sarcastic
  2. could also be an issue with the heater tape, or possibly the heater core has been removed/blocked off due to a leak
  3. just because you can, doesn't mean you should........ but yeah i'd still hit lewis
  4. but then he also has to prove that you knew that there was an issue with it and you falsely advertised it.
  5. take a picture of an empty box, send it to him with a message saying "this is all the f**ks i give....."
  6. box should bolt up fine. only possible issue i can see is the bolt pattern on the clutch to flywheel, but i have a feeling they are the same too.
  7. if you want to spend a lot of money doing a skyline up then wait till you have your opens and can drive a turbo skyline. doing mods to a NA skyline is a waste of money (especially if you plan on doing performance mods). NA skylines aren't that fast and will get beaten by plenty of other cars out there, if you are thinking you will be able to beat commodores, etc off from the lights
  8. go to the home page of the forum. in the list of all the sections, the WTB section will be the last one on the list under the classifieds heading. it's actually the one directly above this section
  9. and that is why saying "a tank" when talking fuel economy is pointless as for your tank being smaller, is it actually an aftermarket tank, or is it that you've got an aftermarket fuel pump that hasn't been fitted low enough to allow you full use of the tank? either way, i'm down to halfway in my tank, done over 400kms, trip computer saying about 500kms left till empty, and even then there will still be 10 to 15L left in the tank. but it's a crappy old commodore with a 75L tank.
  10. my work lappy (from when i had my business) is about 8 or 9 years old now. it's a packard bell i think. only issue i've had was a crashed hard drive about 5 years ago. and i've upgraded the ram. still works fine, despite being a bit outdated. my HTPC is my old PC that is probably 10 years old now and all i've done is put a bigger hard drive in it and some more ram. it was also my work computer for 6 years. again, it's outdated, but works fine for playing movies through the tv
  11. this is the biggest issue with electric cars. that and their poor range. you drive a few hundred kms, then have to charge it up for a few hours before you can set off again. no, they generally charge up for a fraction of the cost of filling a car with petrol. but they cost a lot more to start with, so this alone makes them a poor choice if you are buying one to save money on a day to day basis. to put it into perspective, with that nissan costing 51k, for 30k you could buy a nice 4 cylinder hatch and then put $60 worth of fuel a week (basing it off fuel being $1.50/L and using about 40L a week) into it for 6.7 years with what you would save on the purchase price. or in the case of my missus, where we fill her car up once a month for about $60, it would take over 29 years to make up the difference (obviously not taking into account inflation, rising fuel costs, etc). and i'm sure the batteries in these electric cars would need to be replaced well before that, at a very high cost i would imagine. i think more cars will end up going the diesel generator route like (i think) honda did. i saw it on topgear a while back so i'm a bit hazy on the details (such as make/model, etc) but it was a good design. you have batteries, etc, but the car also had a diesel engine that doesn't drive the wheels, but simply acts as a generator. that is how diesel/electric trains work.
  12. if the fluid is low then it may also be worth checking the pads as they may be low (resulting in the low fluid level)
  13. yes they will fit, but by the time you pay to get them fitted you won't be far off getting tyres straight from a tyre shop. i got a price from the bridgestone tyre place next to work the other day for 18" tyres (hit a rock on the highway on my way to work and trashed a tyre and rim). cheapest 18" tyre they could get was $159, but they were going to do it for $133 each for me. that was fitted, balanced, etc.
  14. There is only one pcv. It is in the drivers side rocker cover and a house runs from it to the plenum. The other hoses are simply breather hoses
  15. 1: there will be close to 100hp difference, and about 150kg weight difference, both in favour of the r33. You do three math. Long story short, you are wondering if a mid 13 second car will be faster thana mid 15 second car....
  16. Could be a dodgy switch. The only way changing brake pads would get rid of the light staying on would be because the light is also an indicator for low brake fluid, so when you pushed the pistons back to fit the pads in, the fluid level in the reservoir went up a bit. Long story short, check the level of your brake fluid
  17. "We have no evidence that makes up think that Felipe has slowed down because of the accident. Zero," no, he has slowed because he's run out of talent
  18. i think the first thing is to get the leak sorted and then see what temps do. a leak in the cooling system will cause temps to skyrocket. for example, i've seen plenty of overheating issues caused simply by a dodgy radiator cap.
  19. one hose will always be hotter than the other as one hose is have cooled coolant flow through it and one has coolant fresh out of the engine. and given that there is a leak in the system, that will make the problem worse. also if your radiator is somewhat blocked (not totally blocked, but not flowing like a new one, which is a common problem on older cars) then that will make the radiator feel colder than it should another possible issue is that your water pump is worn out
  20. yeah was good racing. that hit that whincup took when will broke his suspension/steering was hard.
  21. yeah as above, 40L is a long way from a full tank. skylines have a 65L tank. you should have about 10L left when the fuel light comes on. as for the economy you are getting, yeah that's pretty ordinary economy for highway driving. i'd start with your o2 sensor as that is responsible for altering the mixtures at light throttle. getting a tune won't help too much on highway driving (if the ecu you use still reads from the o2 sensor). you can check whether the o2 sensor is working correctly with a multimeter, or a consult cable. it's also worth asking what size wheels and tyres you run, as that can make a noticable difference. big rims (17" and above) plus fat tyres will hurt your economy, as will running the tyre pressures too low. engine condition as well as fuel injector condtion will also have an effect. dirty injectors will hurt you economy (and a bottle of injector cleaner won't do squat), as well as a tired engine that is a little bit down on compression will also use more fuel.
  22. if you both reread my post, i said that there are plenty of cars with over 200,000kms on the original trans fluid, but then i go on to say that most service intervals are half that.the service manual for my VT says every 110,000kms. someone may also be able to confirm this, but i have a feeling that all oils and fluids have to be changed when the car is complied, so depending on how long the car has been in the country it may well be relatively fresh fluid in there.
  23. pipe size will always have an effect on noise though, even after the muffler. the more restriction in an exhaust, the more effect the muffler will have. this is why with a big exhaust you often get a drone at low rpm. there isn't enough restriction to really quieten it down. also the amount of echo that you get with bigger pipes. twin 3" pipes will be mega loud. twin 2" pipes will still be pretty loud, but not as loud. if the car is a natro (hence posting in here), and an r32 (according to your profile, then anything above 2.5" on a 2L engine is a waste of time and you may well be losing low end power. 2.25" would be more than adequate for a 2L engine unless you spend all your time on the track at high rpm.
  24. and it's also a shite load cheaper than most others on the market, so what does it matter?
