Help Me Choose The Right Bodykit ))) Options Inside.

I'm a fan of white wheels on nissans factory silver colour. -
I was looking into this aswell because it would mean I wouldn't have to worry about damaging it when I have stuff in the boot, or having to seal it off etc but it just isn't practicle to have it in the engine bay. The only other reasonable alternative would be mounting it underneath the floor of the boot (outside the car) next to the fuel tank.

Get your hands on a pair of the coilpack brackets, that way you only have to undo 3 (or is it 5) bolts and you can lift all of the coilpacks out at once, then have your other coilpacks already bolted down to the brackets and swap them over.

Hey I'm looking for a clutch pedal bracket to replace my broken one, would be convenient if it had the pedal attached. In brisbane. Let us know what you got
-
It's not something you can adjust yourself, I believe a specialist shop would replace the spring components with new items. Makes sense about the auto/manual thing considering they usually have different gear ratios between auto/manual, and the speedo cable is driven from the gearbox output.

make sure the AFM is disconnected if you have the intercooler pipes off.

A31 Need To Run Some Wires From The Engine Bay Into The Car
daisu replied to Lum's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
If you pull the plate off there should be a hole already there. The hole is quite large though (large enough for hte clutch master). So I drilled a small hole in the plate (slightly larger than the cable I wanted to put through) and put the rubber grommet in the plate, then bolted it back onto the firewall. -
Yep that will be it. It's a feature found on all cars, they flash faster when a bulb is blown so you know to check them and replace it. Though sometimes they will start flashing fast because of bad contact between the bulb and bulb holder, corrosion in the plug or the wiring loom. LED bulbs will also cause this because LEDs have a high resistance compared to regular bulbs.

A31 Need To Run Some Wires From The Engine Bay Into The Car
daisu replied to Lum's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yeah, I used the plate for the clutch master when my car was auto, it comes out behind the dash above your left foot, line the hole with a rubber grommet, you can pick them up from pretty much anywhere. After I changed to auto I used the hole for the parkbrake cable (parkbrake cable removed and replaced with manual handbrake lever/cable). -
Does Ne One Have A Ceffy Wirring Diagram?
daisu replied to 4bez's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Davo, there is a large plug on the side of the engine bay fuse box with 2 wires in it, join them together (if you are referring to the inhibitor switch, the one that lets you start the car). -

Metal plate to the right of the brake master would be for the clutch master. Not a problem if you intend on keeping it automatic. That hole in the corner that runs into the wheel arch (same on both sides) is the factory location for the wiring loom to run into the cabin, should be able to feed them through there. -
R32's have the HICAS computer under the parcel shelf, same with the speaker amp. Cefiro's have the HICAS computer mounted above the ECU adjacent the glovebox, and the speaker amp is mounted under the parcel shelf.

Lum, I'll have a look for the parts over the weekend and give you a more accurate idea of the cost. Hansmaniac, I didn't realise that the malaysian models were supplied without climate control. Putting in climate control will involve doing the same things as the USDM S13,
-
Yeah that all sounds about right to me. The relay for your girlfriends S13 should come as part of the harness.
-
hansmaniac - As far as I know, all A31 and C33 had analogue climate control, which means they will all have the required sensors. If yours looks like the one in the top of this picture then you should have all the sensors. I did not have any problems with the fan or temperature settings, they worked straight away. If your fan blower and temperature settings don't work, you may have a faulty digital unit, or you may have incorrect wiring. Plugging the digital unit into the A31 without using a rewired loom can result in permanent electrical damage to the digital control unit. Double check your rewired loom against the wiring table here http://www.a31cefiro.com/ryuuyou/air_con.htm Where are you located?

Pulstar Plugs - Anybody Tried Them Yet?
daisu replied to Asphalt Jet's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Apparently regular spark plugs only have 50watts of power, whereas the pulse plugs have over 500watts! -
Not a fan of external wastegate? Or are they difficult with twin turbos?
-
Yeah, making the loom involves a few hours work sourcing and stripping the parts, but it's not really that difficult. I mentioned on another forum I'd knock them up for $100 + parts. Does your girlfriend's S13 have the hot/cold or the 20-25-30 type?
-
Yeah, even here it is hard to find good information for the cefiro. Alot of the S13 and R32 information translates over to the cefiro/laurel but it's all the little things that are slightly different where the information lacks. Digital units are pretty easy to get around these parts, last time I checked they set you back about $100 or so.
-
Yes and no Lum, there are 3 control units for the aircon in nissans. Regular aircon (only option available in USDM 240sx, and some JDM S13) this is the one that has COLD-HOT written on it and no auto functions. Analogue climate control (available in JDM S13, this is the only option available in laurels and cefiros) marked 20/25/30 and has auto fuctions like pictured above in your link. Digital climate control, pretty self explanatory (different models available through silvia/skylines) That guide (installing sun sensors etc) is for USDM 240sx models (and JDM models that didn't have climate control). You don't need to follow that as your cefiro already has the sunload and temp sensors. The difference between the analogue and digital units is the wiring order. All of the wires are there, but they are arranged differently. The analogue unit has 2 black plugs and a white plug, where the digital unit only has 2 black plugs. You don't need to chop the plugs off as they are the same shape, they just need the wires to be rearranged, but that is pretty difficult to do in the cefiro. So the easiest option is to make up a loom that rearranges the wires to suit the digital unit. S13's have it easier, as that part of the loom that needs to be rearranged can be removed and replaced with one that suits the digital units. http://www.a31cefiro.com/ryuuyou/air_con.htm It's a japanese site, so you'll have to run it through a jap translator. In the picture above, the large black connector on the left needs to be removed from a climate control unit (either that or you can press pins into the connectors on your cefiro loom) The 2 black connectors on the right hand side can be sourced from an S13 climate control loom. Or, if you want, I can source the parts and wire up the loom for you.
-
Guys, I found a japanese site with wiring diagrams for the digital climate control loom. This loom plugs into the cefiro loom and adapts it to suit the digital unit. Prototype #2, it's no where near as good looking as the jap one, but it'll do for the moment. Planning to redo it this weekend. And it works!!

Waste Spark Vs Ignition Boost System?
daisu replied to abulurd's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Wouldn't the resistance at the plug in the opposing cylinder (end of exhaust stroke) be less than the resistance at the plug of the cylinder that is on the compression stroke? If so, more than half of the spark energy would be on the wasted side. But, surely these things would've been taken into account when designing coils for wasted spark systems. Did you try comparing the wasted spark to individual coils remote mounted? Are your wasted spark coils new? Unless you only change one variable at a time you can't really compare them fairly. The best way to test with be with a spark gap tester.
