Hi Any word on when the Event schedule / maps will be available ? cheers M -
OK thought I'ld jump on in here. I'm ex president of a then decent Target rifle club affiliated with TRV (target rifle victoria) and VRA (victorian rifle ass) first thing you need to do is find yourself a local club: http://www.trv.org.au/clubs.htm? go and talk to these people and they will give you all your answers. Shooting targets in a shed will be illegal anywhere in melbourne, so A don;t do it B don;t tell them your even thinking of doing it. You will need to join a club first, then once this is done go to the Cops and apply for your shooters License. you will need to sit a safety course and answer a quiz, (all the answers to the quiz are told to you in the course. then you need to apply for a permit to purchase a firearm, stating why you want it and how it will be stored. they will come and visit you and confirm how it is stored. (and they can and do appear at random to check it is there) once this is done you may go buy your gun. Alternatively if you know a primary producer you can get a letter from them stating they give you permission to shoot vermin on their property and then you can use this and not the gun club as your reason for getting license, (all the rest in the same) All this will cost you around 300-400 b4 you even get around to purchasing a gun. (that's License, club membership storage safe etc.) now if you are caught not storing the gun correctly, (and ammo for that matter) or doing somehting illegal eg shooting in a bilt up area, you will loose gun, license, and a big wad of cash, not to mention a criminal record. now if you just want to have a bit of fun and do a bit of shooting. Most clubs will ahve their own guns, join, get a license and use theirs, It will be better than anything you will want to pay for, and you can learn a true sport. So I guess what I am saying is, unless you own a farm or have ready access to one join a club use their gear. like all activities we hate idiots who buy a gun illegally use it in a stupid way and ruin the image of all of us.. (same as we don;t tolerate hoons ruining our image here)

Ok so I'm in HK for a lay over for 2 days, and just around my hotel I spottoed 4 R35 GTR's 2 white, 1 black and 1 gun metal. the gun metal was parked outside our hotel so got have have a nice close up look. one of the whites was in a dealer but only say on my way out of time..must try and con some-one into a test drive next time I go through. only complaint I had was they are so damn quiet. so needs a better note.

Track use only naturally but having hassles finding some-one to refill bottles. so looking for some-one who refill's on the spot (not swap overs as getting the tank airbrushed) and the rough pricing for a 10Lb refill any help would be appriciated

ok who did it: Fire sweeps through landmark hotel December 02, 2007 07:51pm Article from: AAP TWO people have escaped a fire which severely damaged a landmark hotel in the northern Victorian city of Shepparton. The Goulburn Valley Highway remains blocked as Country Fire Authority crews mop up at the Shepotel (Shepotel) in Wyndham Street in the centre of the city, 180km north of Melbourne. The hotel was not open when the fire broke out about 3.40pm (AEDT) but two people inside escaped unharmed, a CFA spokesman said. The upper floor of the double-storey building was destroyed and the remainder suffered severe smoke and water damage. The fire took more than 40 firefighters about 90 minutes to control. The hotel had been refurbished about 18 months ago, the spokesman said. Fire cause investigators will examine the scene. The damage bill is expected to be well over $1 million.

OK so i was looking to get a portable satnav as I travel for work quite a bit. Now this is going to start including a lot more International travel, (mainly SE Asia and India.) does any-one have suggestions for sat nav companies that can supply maps for these regions, (yes I know they will charge extra for them) I was looking at tomtom and garmin, but they have very limited Asian maps. any help would be appreciated.

I did this about 4-5 months ago. will there be others there on the day..oh yeah big time.. it's a processing plant. basiclly you get there sign in. wait around, finally get called into the briefing. takes about 30 min. then they line u up, (there about 20-30 in each group.) put on a suit/helmet, get your pic taken for a certificate at the end. then line up again and wait for the car. this took a little over an hour on my day finally they strap you in. you get out there trash the tit's off the car (there something cool about having an instructor, yell just as you turn in to the corner, "f**ken drill it") as Mav said the slicks are to die for, literally able to go full throttle on turn on of the clubman circuit in a 250odd kw V8 with no chance of loss of traction. and yeah at end of main straight doing in the region of 180-200 and brake pedal flat to the floor just ot have the car squirm a little and just stop. However, (is there always a however) these are NOT v8 supercars by along shot. they are pretty well stock fal/commo with stripped out interiour, cage, body kit and slicks. the motor felt stock...(well a thrashed stock one anyhow) the car was set up to under steer not over steer so twits that don't realise throttle have mroe than on and off don't spin the thing. (I tried to get it sideways but the front just kept washing out on me first) that been said it's still great fun basiclly listen to your instructor do what they tell you and they will give you a great experience.

Damn would ahve loved to be there. but after getting car serviced on thursday and ending up with with only first and reverse.... anyhow gear box in parts will be ready to run by next one.
-
I think it's time to have another go at this myself. So I'll bring the camera gear as per normal but yeah have a bit of fun as well. New rims, rubber, springs, swaybars, clutch, cv's, rebuilt gearbox in past 2 months might as well see what they do. can we have a FWD class this time
-
I based in south melb for work, Where about's is the restorers? I might be good for at least a push or a jump start if needed
-

Caster yes I think so, camber has bee affected, was thinking of getting some camber bolts to get this adjusted anyhow
-
actually stock rubber is 195/60 R15 so it's closer to 8%
-
ok so recently I installed white line control springs front and rear white line front and rear swaybars and new rims. new rims 18 x7 +45 offset old 15x6 +32 offset and went from 205 60 R15 to 225 45 R18 rubber. btw this is on a 93 FWD Nissan Bluebird since then the car's turning circle has increased around 30-50% I can still get full lock with nothing rubbing but yeah, any suggestions on cause/treatment would be appreciated
