  1. cam specs valve timing IN.39/73 EX.75/37 DUR 292 0.75 DUR 225 Valve lift .495" would a l20et cam be any better than the stock l24e one cos i can probly get one from the guy im getting the other stuff from . i almost for got about the oil pump i remember now that i have spoke to you about it before and the reason im putting extractors on is that i got a perfectly good set for free and im still not gonna be starting the conversion for a few months im just starting to collect things. and with the l20et inlet mani would that make any difference putting that on my N/A l24e?
  2. so the 86mm and 87mm pistons won't fit the l24 is that what you are saying? Ive got a L20ET exh mani, L20ET int mani, L20ET injectors, and a KA24E tb coming nxt week and once i have the rest of the stuff i will be starting the conversion but before i do i was going to get the head recond, ported & polished, crow cam fitted, performance valvesprings, and i thourght i might get some oversize valves (what size are the stock valves?) Quick question im fitting extractors to my car in the next few weeks i hope so far i have not got around to it so the intake manifolds has to come off and i was going to put the KA tb on it but im getting this L20ET manifold nxt week so i just wondered if that would be better to put the tb on and stick that on my car
  3. just found that stewart wilkins motorsport sell 86mm and 87mm flat top pistons and rings to suit for the L6's $244 for the piston set and $155 for the rings
  4. how much dose this place want to modify the ecu and by stock you mean the L24E ecu and loom or do you mean the L20ET ones

I have been talking to a guy in Tassie about geting fibreglass copies of these parts made he recons about a grand for a kit including both bars and side skirts not sure what he wants for the front lip but he needs one of each of the parts in good condition to use as a template and he needs atleast 5 people commited to buying them be for he will make any so i recon that a grand for a full kit is pretty bloody good concidering how hard they are to get so i guess someone would have to loan him these parts to make the first mould. so if people are genuinely interested or have any of these parts they are willing to loan to him or something i dont know how he wants to go about it. I will have more info on prices soon here is a sample of some R31 stuff he has done

  10. im looking at doing the same thing. To turbo the L24E you will need the following L20ET intake and exhaust manifolds, L20ET injectors, L20ET injectors, L20ET afm, and a L20ET engine loom and you should also look at geting a piggy back ecu, a P90 head, and some flat top pistons if you are rebuilding the motor just get your self a P90 head and recon that and chuck that on and you will probally get new pistons when you rebuild so you might as well fork out the extra $$ and get some flat tops and also use good quality rings, bigend bearings, and conrod bearings (the motor will be stronger and should handle a bit of extra boost also if you wind the boost up you should think about an intercooler to) and with the L20ET gear the only stuff that you may still be able to buy new is the injectors and the rest of the stuff aint easy to find. if you got any other questions ask me or gohstrider he's where i learnt everythink from

  12. i went to Grand Auto Wednesday to try to get a KA24E tb and they wanted $95 for one
  13. some one told me that but i thourght it was bulls#!t i only thourght they came out in an efi
  14. there is no such thing as a RB30 only RB30E the E stands for efi and they only come out in efi as for the bottom end the only diiference between the turbo and NA bottom end is that the turbo ones have slightly stronger conrods and different pistons and you deffinently want a series 2 block i have a mint one you can have for $80
  15. i know all to well about the pain of coping something in the eye ive coped a valve spring in the eye i was useing a dogey home made spring compressor (aka a G-clamp) and was leaning over it very close and had just got the second collet off and bang a spring operated eylid lol. so dose fuel come out when you turn the key also you should dissconnect it after the fuel filter as well as before that way u can test the filter as well but when you disconnected the fuel line and got shit in your eyes was it before the fuel filter that u disconected it cos if it was and there was enough pressure to spray every where then it sounds like a verry blocked fuel filter if the fuel filter is blocked then every time u start the car the fuel pump it just putting more and more pressure in the line and that would also explain why it would go then stop because it would be getting blocked a bit and then the block would clear and it would go again so my money is on a blocked fuel caused by dirty fuel but i could be wrong
  16. simple way to test the fuel pump is pull the fuel line off of the fuel filter and turn the key and see if fuel squirts out but it sounds to me like its possible fuel pump or maybe a stuffed spark plug or plug lead
  17. i think i might only need the TB as im getting my extractors fitted this wk end so the inlet mani has to come off to fit a new mani gasket and i think im going to just leave the manifold off for a wk so i can get it painted and slap the new TB on i think im gonna have to go to my local Nissan wreckers to get the TB which i dont like doing because they are the most useless people and they will rip you off any chance they can get they have got a set of DR30 tail lights that they are trying to flog for $400 i only paid $80 for mine and there isint a scratch on them. If you get a chance over the wk end can you measure the in let and outlet side of that Cressida afm so i can see if it is any bigger than myn and can you tell me which model cressida its off cos i thourght that i might have a look around at a few wreckers this week for one . As for the turbo conversion that is still gonna happen altho i have been thinking about just getting an L20ET cos im trying to set my car up 4 drifting but i think im gonna set the suspention up first one more thing is there any difference size wise between the KA24 and RB25 Tb's

  20. what ive read is that with the L28 afm you can swap the guts out of that in to the cressida amf which is 34% larger so it might work for the L24 if you want i can give you the link to the site
  21. ive got a full exhaust, extractors, cold air intake, coil, leads, and ive got a crow cam, a cressida afm, and a MSD 6A igniton controller coming in the next few months
  22. one more thing can some one tell me which Tb to use the RB20 or the RB25 there was a thread on it either here or on SDU not long ago but i cant find it now
  23. im after an intake mani cos im about to fit my new extractors and a new manifold gasket so the intake mani has to come off and while it's off i want to get it powder coated black and put an RB20 or RB25 throttle body i forget which on is compatable but i cant go with out my car for a few weeks while it's getting powder coated but anyway if some one has just a bare manifold that is un dammaged that they want to off load cheap that would be great otherwise i guess i will have two go two u-pull-it
