  1. is the after market bosch coil from my datsun 1200 likely to be compadible with my R30 they look the same and are both resistor type coils i need an awnser asap
  2. ok here goes don't go with a motor transplant there is a better option get a RB20 head and put the rb30 block which will give you a RB30DE DOHC instead of a RB30E SOHC which will have the capacity to create much more power than a RB20 or RB25 ever could, you can find the info on the conversion on the R31 club. some other mods you could do to the RB30E are .a mild cam (stage 1) will go straight in $300-$500 if you go with a more agressive cam (stage 2/3) you will have to get the lifter blocks machiened and run a piggy back ecu $1000-$2000 .loose the restricting air box and go with a pod filter and a cold air intake from the front of the car .extractors and a good free flowing exhaust $700-$1000 .get a PowerChip chip the claim to increase your power from 118kw to between 128kw and 134kw $490-$690 .a Ford XF throttle body they ar bigger and they are a common upgrade for the RB30 .a performance coil (MSD blaster) $70-$100 .a set of performance plugleads (TopGun are good)$70-$100 .a ignition controller (MSD 6A) $330 .get the head ported and polished with all that 160kw-200kw could be achievable

Iv been thinking about getting a MSD 6A ignition controller for my MR30 for a while now but with the way petrol prices are at the moment im thinking about it a bit more seriously if it's gonna save me fuel so what i want to know is would it be compatable with the L24E and are they hard to install. Performance whise what difference would one make paired with a performance coil and a set of 8.8mm leads. (If anyone has a secondhand one for sale i might be interested) Ok next the cam, has any one got a aftermarket cam in there L24 or L20 what brand is it and what differnce did it make, Iv'e been looking at mild Crow cams and i will also be getting extractors to compliment the cam. any help would be greatly aprisiated Cheers Josh

  12. I was looking at turboing my L24E motor using L20ET gear about a month ago but had to pull the plug because no one would insure me. What i was told was that the L24E motor wouldn't handle any more than about 10psi of boost and would only produse about 160-170kw at the wheels. The L20E and L20ET intake manifolds fit the L24E so i would imagine the L24E ones would fit the L20ET i think. I was also told that the N47 head on my L24E had larger ports and larger combustion chambers so the N47 head might work good with the L20ET bottom end might lower the compression but i don't know enough about that sort of stuff.   13. i would try skylinesdownunder i got a pair of mint ones a few months ago from NZ for $80 but if all else fails Grandauto wreckers at Lonsdale have a pair for $400 but the guy there said he would do them for $350 when i was in there on the weekend and when i told him i already ha a pair i got for $80 he wasn't to interested in helping me anymore lol but $400 i a rip off but i guess thats up to you
  14. that guy had 2 for sale when i went to have a look he wasent a very good salesman he told me straight up there was no way i would get the ex race one with the rollcage through regency thats a real great sales pich he was helpfull though. what did you end up paying for it he had something like $10,000 on it when i looked. the car look absolutly nuts now nice work

  17. id say no because you need different injectors and you have alot more air being forced in so you probally would get a bad air fuel ratio and your engine could lean out use a L20ET or L28ET one
  18. Can any one who has a intercooled L20ET powered r30 post up pics and tell me what size pipinig and intercooler you are running and what it cost you to plumb it Cheers josh

  22. for $100 you can buy a f!#ked motor with a cracked head that would probbaly take alot of time to clean and check/test and all my prices are negotiable i realy didn't take the time to see what the going rates for all this stuff was so i just put what prices i thourght where reasonable
