  1. Still got the button clutch in my R33 that came with it, but I can tell you my Patrol as seen plenty of high rpm launches... Pulled out a stump last weekend, front hubs locked, low range, dropping clutch at about 4.5-5krpms, clutch has never had a problem. My chassis and tow points (and the tyre marks on my driveway) on the other hand.... The cheaper 3ltr Patrol that was released (I think in the late GQ model days?? can't remember) uses a RB30 (no D, T or even E!) that produces about 2 or 3kw less at the flywheel than the RB30E in the VLs. A carby and high torque@low rpm tuning will do that to you though. I think they would be fine for a stock to mildly tuned Skyline, but I can understand too many high rpm launches could start causing glazing and other problems. The compound used would be designed for low rpm clutching/declutching whilst towing, crawling along 4x4 tracks, etc - fairly tacky for high torque. Never designed for high rpm use.
  2. Yeah, I remember rthe Liberals saying they were going to put it back to 10%... What I don't understand with the current system, is that someone once mentioned that the ADRs state that a vehicle's speedo must be accurate to +/-5%. Now if that's what Federal law states (and if I'm wrong, someone please correct me cos' I'd love to know!) how the hell can State government come up with a law stating we will only allow 3%? If it's true we could all get proof that our speedos are 5km under (putting larger tires on if we must! ) taking that to court, and getting these stupid 3km/h over fines thrown out!!!
  3. I wanna find out where to place an order!
  4. I did get a quote from Just Cars for my R33 GTS-T for $1200 full comp, that is rating 1 with 60% NCB though....
  5. Mate, I'd love to come depending whether I'm free on the chosen weekend - only prob is I'm to used to packing in the 4x4... not a lot of room to spare in the Skyline!! I've got a full compliment of camping gear, nowhere to stick the Weber in the Skyline either though... grrrr
  6. Only took about three panoramics myself, they do give a nice overview of the goings on though! I think my mate in the ZX took a few more, don't have a download of his photos to put up however. I'll put them all up on a website tonight, after a bit of photoshopping and collating! Oh, if anyone wants any originals - just pm/email. (Note - large files!)
  7. Was definately a great day, and a great introduction to cruising with the SAU crew! Looking forward to the next one!! Got plenty of photos (150+), I'll just attach a main one for now... Don't want to use too much server space so I'll set up a website for them all later.
  8. DON't go to TTF Dandy..... I can guarantee at the very least they'll snap your wheel studs off... (Nissan wheel studs snap easily, especially with a heavy-handed rattle gun that they will use no matter what you tell them). They are shocking - scratching rims, not knowing how to balance tyres. My mate bought rims & tyres from them unknowingly, ended up with around 85 grams worth of weights just on one corner... Still wasn't right, took it somewhere else and that tyre ended up with a single 10g weight on it to make it perfect.....
  9. I think I saw some Nismo mats designed for the R32/R33 on Nengun... (If you want to pay for the Nismo logo...) Wouldn't mind knowing where to get the OEM accessories though - I want the side window air deflectors.....
  10. Or of course they can just cut through the steering wheel with a hack saw, split it apart, pull steering lock off. I think the current world record for doing this is two seconds?? Steering lock = hardened steel. Steering wheel = 5mm mild steel + plastic.....
  11. Would UHF or AM CBs be in the majority on cruises??
  12. PC! Definately prefer the graphics on the PC (yes, assuming you have a good (DX9) graphics card, and have either an analogue joystick/PSX controller/analogue steering wheel) And Funky's got the right idea - nothing better than sitting in front of the big screen, THX-certified tyre screeching blaring through the surround sound.
  13. If you're got a bit of electronics nous, the schematics are available on the web to make the PSX controller adaptor for PCs. The drivers are downloadable for free too (but you'll have to find the one that works best for you - there are heaps!) No components in the schematic (unless you want the force feedback to work), just linking the different PSX pins to the pins on your parallel port.
  14. Cool, people wont mind if I invite my mate with his Z31 turbo?
  15. If you can, I'd take out the whole back seat, soak it with a hose (and any detergents you wish to use, Pine-O-Clean?) for 10-15 minutes, let it dry for a few days and put it back. I had a half-empty 600mL "Strong IC" bottle that hid itself away in the back of my old Patrol. Was hidden for a good two months before we had a nice hot day... then the heat (and fermenting) built up pressure and made it explode. Threw up about six times in the remaining 10km trip home . Luckily the seats and floor is all vinyl - I just hit it with the high-pressure water sprayer for a good half hour.
  16. Stick with D-Link, good price for a decent enough product. Something like a DSL-504 $254.17 (if you've got multiple computers) or a DSL-200 $132.09 for a single connection. Check www.instantit.com.au. Any type of filter is fine, as long as it's for ADSL. InstantIT is quoting $14.00 for a filter, I'm sure I got them cheaper than that... I'll have to put in a plug for Internode as well... They've got great service, excellent network speed/pings albeit for a couple of dollars extra than the cheapest of providers (you do get what you pay for in the broadband arena). There must be an echo in here (Whirlpool is your friend!) - they just completed their survey too which gives a pretty good breakdown of the current broadband scene.
  17. Yup, saw that one! 'Tis pretty f*&%ed up though. He was driving a Peugeot 406 and the copper stuffed up the boxes on the form (put 406 under speed, and I guess the speed against the model of the car) 406 miles/hr = 653.394km/h. I suppose they still have his real speed though.
  18. LOL! From my boss, that would be about right!
  19. So what does "Kung Hei Fat Choi" mean?? I just got that in H.N.Y. SMS from China.... (Don't flame me if it's wrong/misspelt/offensive - my boss is Italian, in China at the moment, and only ¼ way through his Mandarin course.....)
  20. Dunno what model 'Line you're looking at - I've heard (read) that the S15 200sx OEM tow kit will bolt straight on to a R33, allows you to take the tongue off so you wouldn't know it's there. Don't quote me on that, you might want to do a search first as I've seen a fair few threads on people chasing tow kits.
  21. I've been wanting to come to one of these for ages! My car's only a stocker, but I'm sure more than enough for a day in the skidpan! Add my name to the list...
  22. Well, they're legal in Vic, as long as they don't flash (so yours don't count... changing colour=flash=illegal.)
  23. Still haven't seen a PM myself.... if someone wouldn't mind forwarding...
  24. Thought you must be a year ahead of me, 1996. Still got heaps of friends from your year level though, in fact - one still works with me!
  25. Was wondering if I'd see my school put up by anyone else! Primary: St. Mary's, Dandenong Secondary: St. John's, Dandenong Tertiary: Deakin, Bundoora (1 mth) & Monash, Clayton Inasnt, what year did you finish St. John's??
