  1. are you talking about this one? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...c=67878&hl= lol, i just need a girly sporty daily driver for my gf. edit: just realised you said damaged. no didnt see it.
  2. what year? how much? i'm about to go see this one now, but will keep in mind. thanks EDIT: nevermind, have details in PM. cheers.
  3. ok, so blue or black smoke, walk away ?
  4. 3500 - 4000rpm ??? that seems pretty high to be revving in neutral. are u sure emsta?
  5. yeah i heard that about the 1.6, they reckon it was a better model. still i'm finding it hard to even find an mx5 for under 10k, besides a few ragged '90 models. i've been told this one is in perfect condition (yet to be seen), serviced regularly etc. so for 9k, i think it's a bargain if all checks out ok.
  6. Jdfnq, the 1.8i came out in Nov '93. Will check soft top/anchors thoroughly. It's a girl's car, doesnt need power Thanks for the tip. Do you think 148k is a bit high for those little blender motors? ctjet, as if i'm gonna drive it, paleeeeeez. any more tips?
  7. At 3pm i'm going to have a look at a '93 1.8i 5sp soft-top MX5 that my gf wants to buy. I'll be leaving a deposit on it if it all looks good, and possibly pick it up tonight. Has anyone got any tips on problems or common faults with these models? Anything in particular to look for ? This one has 148k on the clock, nice 17" mags, and i've offered 9k over the phone (hopefully bring it down a touch more).
  8. yes, a little bit, i guess, meh i dont know, let's not find out.
  9. lolz, i thought that said mustard at first. i think i like mustard better, as in hot dog, as in weiner, as in tiny genitals.
  10. hmmmm, so it may be the GPS that is out? I thought those things were very accurate.
  11. old thread, i know, but rather than risk a "use the search button" warning, i'll just add on here. I had a GPS and a friend in my car (borrowed both, i have no friends). He was watching the GPS screen for speed readout. Apparently, this unit updates 5 times per second, so i assume it's accurate. At 60kph on speedo, the GPS stated 65kph. At 110kph on speedo, the GPS stated 112kph. This sounds backwards, does it not? I have 18's on my car. And i assumed my speedo would be out a little. But it looks to me as if the speedo/needle isnt really accurate, or the error/difference would have increased at higher speeds. How have you guys found your R33 speedos to be?
  12. faaarken hell how would you feel if nissan made a skyline ad aimed at fags? i'd be deeply cut.
  13. i go with anti-leech hotlink protection. here's a fake hotlink where nothing exists: http://www.theresnolinkhere.com/nolink.jpg and when placed in IMG tags, you get: same thing would happen if the image was made unavailable by the host.
  14. if you were beating the motor, then you were half way there.
  15. dezz, i suggest checking ur boost in a higher gear, like 3rd, pref 4th if possible. u get a more accurate reading there. but i guess if the spiking was apparent in 2nd before, and it's gone now, u should be ok. so what was the prob anyway? edit: nevermind, it's a mystery, lol.
  16. my mate's s15 does the same thing. also has 2 stage b/c with in cabin switch. his makes strange noises at 8psi, but it's all good at 11psi. It's got me fked. I suggest the b/c may be the issue. Will let you know if he sorts his issue out.
  17. if you're talking about the lense looking hazy, there's a thread somewhere about how to clear it up. goes along the lines of cutting compound and buff, or hand polish. have a search.
  18. and i had to let it go at a pathetic price too. u woulda got a good deal.
  19. ok, you have PM. So get back to me on the 25th where are you located?
  20. ok, took it for a nice big run on the fwy tonight. reaching 9spi after 4500, no prob. was very apparent in 2nd and 3rd, less so in 4th, but then i had to back off a bit at that stage, speed limits and all so it looks like the solenoid is ok, maybe grounding it manually to get the thing to switch did the trick. when i get time, i'll get the turbotech boost controller on and set to 9psi. did u guys get better spool times, more response, etc etc, after installing the turbotech (compared to the standard solenoid)?
  21. but you are a member on this forum. believe it or not, that's enough. i'm with shannons.
  22. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=133257
  23. i grounded the solenoid, and i can clearly hear it clicking. so i assume it must be working. i've had no time, or space(traffic) to give it a decent run and check psi +2. will let u know how it goes.
