  1. yeh mine too so youre getting the same sort of problem?? (only just noticed your cars the same as mine) is this what you did? is it a common thing in R32s?
  2. im running 9psi and making around 210rwhp i didnt rebuild the engine, i just bought a new one as the RB20s are so cheap these days i still dont understand why sometimes the oil pressure is fine and sometimes its really low... does this sound like a worn bearing or could it be a dodgey guage?

  4. yeh, 11:1 at 0.6bar (9psi) and 12:1 at 0.8 bar (12psi)
  5. yeh well this oil pressure bull**** has put me off boosting my car. it went in for a service last thursday and was supposed to have boost controller fitted but i bailed. now i need to buy an oil pressure guage instead... dont want to have to replace the engine AGAIN ill definately be down, will probably race.... not looking so good on times though i dont think:D
  6. i know im running rich but only have a remapped std ECU, which is gunah cost $400 to remap. im around the 11 mark at the moment

  8. well after changing the oil and filter a couple of days ago it does seem a little better, although the guage still fluctuates alot. ive decided not to make an conclusions until i buy an oil pressure guage. when you say the main bearing is stuffed, what exactly does this mean?
  9. well i got a new set of plugs in the other day its a much smoother ride and no flat spot when cold. it starts a little better but still not perfect, guess ill just have to learn to live with it its not a big deal anyway thanks for the replies guys! adam
  10. it depends what was done.... and a ECU reset has no negative effects but dont expect an additional 50KW or anything...
  11. im 99% sure the 2835 doesnt come internally gated the 2530/2540 both do and are bolt on upgrades for the RB25DET, these will probably be the best option

  14. i also located where my oil leaks from a cracked oil hose from the turbo... this may be affecting things?? anyway the pressures all over the shop will get the service done tomorrow and then reassess. i have a feeling its now the guage cos ive been watching it recently and it fluctuates alot. sometimes its fine oil pressure then it looks like it gets stuck below 1!! i may have to put off the injectors and buy an oil pressure guage!
  15. yeh plugs was my initial thought macka: ignition timing is slightly retarded but not that much and it idles fine... 7-800rpm at hot and just over 1000 on cold am changing plugs tomorrow so will let you all know! thanks for the repsonses

  17. the car doesnt like to start cold.... but if you rev then it will start. what can this be? spark plugs? not enough air in pipes therefore need to rev...?
  18. that is also why on a HKS SSQ when you loosed the plate it doesnt make the flutter anymore, only a pshh
  19. it happens when you run without an air filter have you seen the hard tuned imports video? when they run the cars down at central circuit they mke th flutter on thir burnout and you see an after shot of the engine bay, THERES NO AIR FILTER! ITS THE BOV WHICH MAKES THIS NOISE!!
  20. yeh there is, HKS SSQ makes the sound under low boost ie not enough boost to hold valve open to make the pshhh noise
  21. yeh i wish i had your clearance too! every speed bump is a mission in my car... every single pipe underneath the car is scraped

  23. i duno the exact specs, has been rated at 350-400ps it all came from japan with HKS manifolds and HKS external gate i was making 290rwhp before the engine blew, at the moment im at around 200-220. before i was running std injectors with fuel pressure reg but i was gunah get new injectors soonish and then boost in aim for 300-320rwhp. although this oil pressure thing has got me a bit stressed, cos if i boost on low oil pressure ill blow the engine again the only bad thing about the t04 is its pretty laggy, full boost kicks in around 3500-4000rpm so if you choose the wrong gear people can really leave you behind!!
  24. haha thats not really what i wanted to hear but kindah expected it!! would that make sense though, i thought if the bearings had gone then it wouldnt hold pressure at all, the fact that it holds pressure when the engine is cold/warm just nor hot is kindah weird
