i have this problem too..... and made a thread about it a while ago so you might want to search for it as i think there were some answers there. incidentally i still havent fixed my problem but its better with new plugs and a service...
i know people are always talking about which tuning shop to use etc etc well i think ive found mine!
cypher had my car and fitted a fuel pump and boost controller, tuned on dyno and replaced a few odds and ends like belts/clamps etc
power went up from 165rwhp @ 8psi to 226rwhp @ 12psi so im very happy!!
if anyone is still looking for a good tuner then i highly recommend cypher, now its back down to the drags to improve on the 14.8 :burnout:
oscar
he running a FMIC, 17psi through an s15 turbo, GTR fuel pump, pod, full exhaust and BOV
the cars a bit of a time-bomb at 17psi though!
he pulled a 14.001 at 12psi
yeh youve got to be pretty cool to blow up an engine:D
hopefully thos days are behind me, it was actually taggart who said hed blown it up.... dodgey b!@#!rd
do you modify the existing bracket to fabricate this new bracket? also the R32 one will be different-ish.... how hard was it to fit the new pump
rating out of 10....
1 being dead easy
10 being near to impossible:D
what sort of air/fuel ratios are people here running?
im after a balance of good power but also safeguarding against pinging/detonation on a hot day or as a result of some bad fuel, as happened last time if my turbo spikes it will blow the internals as im currently running the std fuel system. am going to upgrade soon but am going to boost it a little as 8psi and 10.8-11:1 A/F doesnt make for a very quick car!
ive been told 12-12.2 is the best range for a safe yet powerful air/fuel mixture, any thought/opinions?
thanks!
adam
what sort of relationship is there between the speed you reach the line and the calculated ET you should have got
ie does over 155=14-14.5sec
175=low 13
??
ok i rang a performance tuner here in perth, they reckon no bosch pumps will fit the std bracket and to fit a 390 you would have to go for a surge tank setup....
i might investigate the possibility of using a GTR or VL pump, does anyone know of anyone whos used these?
bosch 390 can fit into the std bracket it you modify it though. i know some pumps are WAY too big and need a completely new bracket to fit...
is the 390 overkill?? im only after a 400hp pump... and with replacing the ful filter i just did that on my last service... do you need to replce it again or do they just say have anew filter present cos mines less than a week old!
im looking for a fuel pump upgrade which will fit into the existing bracket without too much messing around. im after one rated to around the 4-500hp mark (nothing too big!)
so far ive been recommended the bosch motorsport 390 pump
does anyone else have any ideas
yeh i understand that happens at 0.8bar which is around 12psi but why not find some middle ground ie 10psi cos at that boost the car would have run fine and you could have run a better time....
maybe just have to wait for wednesday nights to come back!
