got the car back....definately feels much smoother now and exhaust doesnt pop/fart anymore...but still a tad dissappointed coz there is still a dip at around the 80-88kph mark...tuner reckons could be a problem with the air flow sensor...or the turbo nearing rebuild stage....i think its definately the turbo coz it does tend to squeal quite a bit under boost. happy wif the fuel consump tho....drove back from o'connor to scarborough...fuel needle didnt move a mm ....last time i tried that lost about 1/2 notch of fuel greddy unit works beautifully....low 6-7psi...and holds high at 10psi without a flicker

yea...but everyone else seems to be running a high flow turbo..which should give a better power reading..atmo im quite happy wif the results...121awkw should in my pleb opinion equate to maybe 140ish rwkw which was my intended power figure. im a bit surprised that i was told that it was hitting boost cut at anything more than 10psi....but given my turbo may be tired and due for an upgrade..i wouldnt want to push it any more but next on list of mods is definately a FCD, higher flow fuel pump and/or regulator (depending on current injector cycle) ...FMIC (a definate must) and depending on whether i win a crossword scratch n win ....maybe highflo my current blower.

finally had my car tuned on the dyno ....it now runs 121.4awkw @ 10psi dont know about fuel ratios ...but I know that with Anthony tuning it ..i wont worry too much. anyone know if this is a good performance figure?.. given the only mods are the safc, greddy profec b (10psi high..8 psi low) and a 3 inch turbo back soo farkin excited..cant wait to get the car back

preference will be 14/15 Jan - hopefully by then the wallet would have recovered from the christmas shock....and if my safc gets fitted tomorrow...am definately hoping for better fuel economy...so distance wont become an issue Mandurah..sounds like fun esp if could organise some sort of treasure hunt

Good price on the intercooler....similar one was sold on ebay for $455 just couple of days ago. Think about it guys....cheapest china cooler $350 + $150 for installation and u need to cut a hole in the side of ur car for the piping to run through.....this will bolt to the standard piping plus u get a better core. GL with the sale mate....wish i had the dosh for the intercooler Free bump!!

well i know most car dealers will offer an 'extended car warranty' to 3 years or 175k at a cost of an arm and a leg... but its all a friggin scam...like they wont cover things such as sticky valves...it'll literaly have to break before the warranty covers it.... i had an extended warranty on my astra...and at 56k..the rear rotors needed replacement..AVG told me to get stuffed and that its 'normal' wear n tear ...i bought the car at 50k...and after driving for 6k's the rotors are unusable and its supposed to be MY FAULT

if it did....was prolly what clued the car jackers on what sort of immobiliser was installed.

bummer...i dont have mechanical insurance on my car....it came wif the normal 5k or 3mth warranty...anyone recommend a good insurance company that will do this...and whats involved..like do i need to bring the car in for a full check? ...but the again i dont think it'll be valid unless i leave the car stock standard.

had it booked to install the afc and profec b at xspeed ...only coz Ant is back and they quoted me a better price than hyperdrive and speedworks ...didnt get the name of the bloke i spoke to on the phone...but he reckons stock turbo and stock smic is capable of 13psi (although this is reserved for those "special occasions" rather than normal day2day driving)...will be upgrading to a FMIC soon though...just cant bear to part wif all that cash in one go

i prolly had more sludge in my motor Question for SK ( not that I doubt anyone else's opinion ) - I'm having a boost controller and afc fitted next tuesday...planning on running about 9psi low and 13 psi high boost...current mods is just a 3 inch turbo back i think its wise to change my plugs now ...so what plugs (make, model, heat range) should i get and what gap should i run? I've read on the other treads that you recommend BCPR6ES gapped at 0.8mm ....is this recommended for my planned setup? Cheers buddy. p/s: assuming my coil packs are in a 'fair' condition...i dont know for sure...i can have a look but its like asking me to tell the sex of fish...i wouldnt have a clue.

Yea i dont think its far off from the 5 liter mark...coz i had to add about a liter when i overfilled it...and drained exactly 1 liter to get it spot on. must say that the motul x-cess did get a dark honey colour rather quick and car feels slightly lazy compared to using mobil 1 the last time round... might try the pureone filters next time btw...how much does the pureone filter retail for at supercheap? ...i only managed to find valvolines there...are they stocked different?

checked ...confirmed overfill ...by at least 3mm ....and i know the reason too...had the front of my car on jacks coz i needed to go under the car to remove the plug...forgot to remove the jacks when filling in the oil..so i guess oil must have levelled towards the back of the sump....im such a moron!!! trick for young players.

yea ...sometimes a problem with these 5w synthetic oils is that its too thin that it hardly leaves a trace on the dipstick...should've tagged along on the cruise and get some expert advice

thats the part that scares me...oil that drained out filler 2 x 2liter milk cartons..slightly less than a liter in another bottle...and prolly bout 1/2 pint on my lawn when transfering the oil into the bottles...haha so guesstimate is bout 5 liters....didnt check level before draining out though so cant really say. will check level again this afternoon when i get back...hope the car doesnt overheat coz i've overfilled it

did exactly that...drained the oil...took the filter off and waited for bout an hour till every last drop had drained out...put the sump plug back on ...put in new filter...fill oil ...took dipstick...gave it a clean...put it all the way in...pulled out...no traces of oil on dipstick....filled another 1/2 liter...checked level again..small amount of oil at end of dipstick where theres a notch....emptied remainder of 5 liter bottle...checked again..was barely pass the low level....start the car up...let idle for bout 2 minutes then turned it off...checked again...below the low level...darnit..do i have a bigger oil sump?
