  5. firstly ...he should not have driven ur car without ur permission...but then again..think about what sort of legal compensation u looking for ...a full tank of fuel? the legal cost will outweigh any sort of compensation ur likely to get...so best is to just stay far far away from that dodgy business....and let ur relatives, friends, neighbours, footy team, local grocer, drunks at ur local...and anyone else u might bump into... to stay clear of that place...word of mouth travels far and wide...and given time...u might just hurt his business enuff.
  6. i'd suggest exhaust, engine management and a boost controller as the most basic mods...reason being ..exhaust mods will pose a lesser restriction on gas flow....better turbo response..and bang4buck power increase...should see ur boost go to about 8psi ...still no fun if u ask me...so a boost controller to raise this to 10psi (heard the $25 ones work fine for this)...then prolly a safc to see ur car doesn't R&R under increased boost.

  8. had 17*8 +35 on ...no problem at all..clears in/out very well. Not sure about 18*8 +40 tho...sounds to me like they'll foul on coilovers. Try looking for something in the +30 - 35 if ur going 8-9 inches wide.
  9. mine did that on several occasions on a cold start...didnt actually die..but when turning the steering..the revs will fall really2 low..then back up again ..have since replaced the battery and it hasnt done that again since...then again ..i have done up my AAC and coils ..so that could have contributed to the problem.

AFAIK factory speed limit is 180km/h ...sounds more like ur stock blower was running out of puff But seriously dude...if ur gonna race..do it at the track..chances are you'll get more attention/cred running a 10 sec pass on the strip than occasionally winning a street race against a mustang with a driver who couldnt tell a stick shift from his left elbow!!

  12. was after ur FMIC ...thats till i saw the pic of ur car...all i can say is god must luv u to survive a wreck like that. anyway...my shopping list. 1. Cat Converter - if its a highflow 3 inch unit and not damaged in the accident 2. all silicone hose connections for the FMIC - if not broken. Cheers buddy
  13. if your looking to replace just the broken coils...then maybe ask ur local nissan dealer for the original coils..otherwise if ur looking to buy a set of 6...then get the pricing from nissan and compare with a set of brand new splitfires afaik the splitfires are a better choice in terms of reliability and price I'd try the diy section on how to mend broken coils first...with any luck it may just be a minor crack as what happened to mine...cost me $20 to repair and my car now idles smoothly and can hold 10psi boost without any dramas.

I had to remove all 4 screws holding the console before removing the rectangle plastic faceplate...thats coz i found 2 screws at the bottom which attached the stereo surround to the metal center console just below the clips...if u tried to pop the surround off before removing the screws...might end up with a broken bracket.
  16. Do a search on the following. 1. DIY AAC cleaning 2. DIY coilpacks 3. changing Oxygen sensor It should be one of these causing the erratic idle That or if ur using an atmo venting BOV ..if not then check for vacumm leaks too. If ur using an atmo BOV...then the unstable idle is normal...u might want to use a safc to correct this ..or a cheaper option is using the HKS EIDS (i've got one in the for sale forums -- free ad )

  24. this maybe a stupid question to ask ...but how do u wind back a digital odometer?

Come to think of it...my car used to do that ...always in 1st or 2nd and when under load..eg uphill ascent...always thought it was uneven road...but apparently was caused by a faulty coil ...hardly noticeable but gradually reared its ugly head...solved now with some high temp silicone. even if ur coils arnt shot...might be worth doing ...look in the DIY threads.
