  12. Car idles normally, no smoke, but I've got head noise which wasn't there before, like a light knock at the rear of the engine.
  13. Well it appears mine is leaking oil (bottom of the turbos covered in oil), and the two times I tried to boost it (just after the nice big bang) I was getting metallic noises, all other vital signs were ok though. so I guess the turbos probably lunched itself, plus I was getting some light knocking sound from the head when I had it idling, this arvo. Best thing to do is a compression test?
  14. I'd like to know if you can f**k a turbo and not have it blow white smoke, as thats what my cars doing, no boost, bad metallic noises when it tries to boost.
  15. Anyone have a good compression tester guage I can borrow for a week or so?
  16. Okay have some noob questions, My turbo's not boosting and leaking oil, now I don't really want to go down the replace the turbo route, if my engines f**ked. So whats the proper way to do a compression test?

  18. on a 32 the torque guage, only activates when required, if your 4wd light is on, then most likely theres a problem. Open the boot, stick your head under there, and find the box on the left hand side under the parcel shelf, it should have a site glass which is flashing out codes over and over, write down the flashes till they cycle through ( theres a pause between each one) then do a search on the codes, theres a few threads on the codes.
  19. checking your attessa codes would help..... somethings wrong with your 4wd, thats why the lights on.
  20. Hi all, well late last night coming home, accelerated up to 5000 rpm or so, and heard a high pitched ping, backed off the car and let it coast, oil pressure was normal everything else seemed ok, tried to see if it would boost, and everytime it was just about to come onto boost could hear a metallic type grinding noise, and car would not boost. Was only about a 1km or two to home , so drove it like a granny and parked it. Did notice last night though that the car was dripping oil around below the turbo, put an oil pan under it and checked it this morning, theres probably about 5 to 10mls of oil there. Had a bit of a search here, I'm assuming a have a blown turbo perhaps? Will try and have a go at pulling off the intake to look at the turbo wheel, for any obvious other probs. Just wondering what else it might be? Best to trailer it to a shop if I'm not doing it myself? Best not to start the car? Have not started to car since last night. bottom half of the turbo also appears to be covered in oil. Havent checked the turbine wheel yet.
