  1. If anything happens to my bottom end I will be throwing a 30 bottom end in there, we've built a few 30's now including a 4wd one and IMO the Stag could really do with the 3L (especially with my laggy turbo) as opposed to my 32 where the abundance of torque really isn't needed but makes for a lot of fun! heheh
  2. I'm running 327mm discs with dogbones and 33gtst calipers on my 32, barely fit under the 34GTT rims I had. Those discs with Ferodo DS2500 pads was a hell of an upgrade over the 296mm 33 discs and Bendix pads I had previously.
  3. Very handy to alert you to goings on around you
  4. WGMG is having my posts deleted
  5. Will do. +11ty The Stag is good fun and a nice cruiser/tourer, just doesn't have the same level of sideways fun as the 32
  6. Not a pain in the ass in WA, mine was super easy to register.. just don't rock up with a new RB30 with a massive highmount and external gate and expect to pass first go..
  7. My bad Mine also alerts me to emergency vehicles with their lights/sirens on.
  8. 32 is officially in pieces so I'll have to come along in the Stag.. won't be quite as fun but you get that
  9. The RB30 only gets revved to 5500-6000rpm at the moment as the turbo is WAY too small, that's still at least 3000rpm of usable power.. Limiter is set to 6800rpm but never gets hit as the power drops off rather dramatically after 5800rpmish It was a direct comparison between spool and peak power.. anything else is pointless because the turbo is so undersized for the engine. If the turbo was big enough to let me reach redline then the RB30 would win in your above comparisons. GT35R will be on soon.. unfortunately I don't have an RB20 that I can strap it to aswell and do some more testing Oh and an RB20 will die.. didn't adams' die? yes it lasted quite some time making the power it did! but it still died! but anything will die with enough abuse.. P.S. yes the RB20 was faster (due to not being able to wind it out in each gear) but that was countered by making use of the extra torque with some 3.9 gears. The RB30 is an alround nicer engine to drive on the street though. P.P.S. the 30 is also a LOT better for big smokey burnouts, which is afterall, the most important thing
  10. I killed one with 183rwkw RB20 and one with 183rwkw RB30 (2nd one went a lot faster with the RB30). Could have been the button clutch and too many 2nd gear clutch drops though..
  11. I know I didn't have a 26 but I pretty much did a back to back with my RB20 and RB30 with the same turbo. On the RB20 it was making 12psi by ~3500rpm with peak power ~6500rpm. On the RB30 it made 12psi by ~2200rpm and peak power ~4600rpm. That's what a whole extra litre does.. Draw from that what you will
  12. I would think that the hiflow'd 33 turbo would have had the exhaust housing machined for a larger wheel so swapping on the stock neo exhaust housing isn't going to fit... I have a hiflow'd neo turbo on my stag and it seems to be a bit bigger than all the other hiflows I've read about, it's making ~240awkw @ 12psi when the others I've seen make 240-260rwkw @ 16-18psi..
  13. Don't forget that 85% of statistics are made up on the spot.
  14. *could* be one of many reasons.. Mostly likely is tired engine with excessive blowby.
  15. The RB20 head flows roughly the same as the RB30E head so there's not really much benefit there.. RB25 (DE or DET) or RB26 head would have seen much better gains! The head is where all the emissions crap goes on though, for a straight swap conversion retaining factory manifolds etc there is pretty much no difference whether the block is a few years older.. RB30's were also in R31 Skylines released here up until 1990.. my block is out of an '87 VL though (mates car that got punished severely, still in the family and going strong! lol). Isn't the OS Giken 3L something like that? uses a spacer?
  16. Did you skim the rotors before putting the new pads in?
  17. This rates up there with stupidest posts of all time.
  18. I would probably leave it.. I hated it but that's probably because my car is rwd and spends a lot of it's time sideways, I don't need some computer attempting to steer the back wheels when I don't want it too
  19. Uhuh. Nice one.
  20. Unless you have misfiring issues already, then there is not really any need to gap down to 0.5mm. Many of us are still running stock coils fine (and some are making a fair bit of power with them).
  21. Yes it is my opinion, aswell as many others. More power and torque earlier means more average power, which makes for a faster car.
  22. I beg to differ. I feel there is more pride and class in building something different and why would you balk at more torque, earlier power and better drivability? Better yet, hands up all the cheque-book racers! Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!
  23. All these naysayers, have you been in a car powererd by a twincam 30?
  24. NGK BCP6ES-11's gapped down to 0.8mm if needed.
