  1. Are you doing this jacked up in a driveway or something? had my car up on the hoist which might make it a bit easier.. I've only ever changed the gearbox in my old HZ Prem. in the driveway.
  2. Seen a white R33 with an LS1 over here in Perth, was built by a guy that went to jail for kiddy fiddling I also found this photo somewhere on this site.. pretty sure I saw the car at Motorvation this year.. RWD 32 4door I think.
  3. I know the RB25 box is a fair bit bigger than my RB20 box but here we go.. was easy to remove but a pain in the ass to put the new box in. Had to undo the exhaust to let the back of the engine to sit lower and turn the box nearly 90 deg to get it back in, can't remember which way
  4. How soon after installing did you give it a 5k clutch drop? I was told to take it easy at the start with the new clutch we put in on the weekend, kinda bed it in.
  5. Cheers, upon further investigation it has nothing to do with the clutch.. it seems to be my engine pinging it's head off so bad that it sounds like it's squealing
  6. Try wind the idle up a little bit, like has been mentioned it's a very common problem with atmo's. The stock ECU is tuned to see the return air and I also think the stock BOV is designed to leak slightly at idle. Most people just wind the idle up to like 1000rpm and it's fine, some people just have non stop problems with them. My car never stalled with the R2D2 but it idles at 900-1000rpm.
  7. Installed a new (2ndhand) gearbox and a brand new heavy duty clutch/pressure plate and a new machined flywheel on the weekend.. the only thing that wasn't replaced was the spigot bush. There is now a funny squealing noise under acceleration, pretty loud in 1st but not so loud in 2nd and higher. Just wondering if this is something to worry about? could it be the spigot bush catching and making noise? When I picked the clutch up the guy gave me a spigot bush and said to replace it while the box was out as they tend to dry out, catch up and make noise but that's about it. Didn't have the right tool to remove it so we just left it. Clutch seems fine (pedal is really low and short now though), no slippage and bites nice when I drop it..
  8. I found a lid in my intake pipe when I re-installed a standard bov on my car..
  9. So you won't be doing an R32 GTST version?
  10. Sounds like limp mode, I think your car may be too old to have a consult port to look up any error codes Good luck!
  11. They tried to knock my mates R34 back from the pits when it was imported (WA), after mucho arguing they passed it with the UV Cut glass on the back.
  12. I'll be down for an R32 GTSt kit
  13. www.quokka.com.au www.autotrader.com.au or maybe r31skyline club or whatever it's called.. here's a cracker I found on quokka.com.au... SKYLINE R31, 1988, Silhouette interior, R32 RB20 DET eng, 5 spd manual, CD, intercooler, 3" exhaust, 17" mags, microtech LTX12 computer, pod filter, Bosch aftermarket ign, Veem custom tailshaft, APEXI RSM meter, boost gauge, lowered with king springs, Xeddy h/duty clutch, alarm, turbo timer, lic $5550. Wlsn. 0403-776-612 or 9358-0638 If I had a spare 5.5k I'd buy it just to beat up on
  14. Those short runners on an RB20 aren't going to be too flash for low down torque..
  15. How easily would I be able to reuse an RB20 setup to run an RB25 if I upgrade engines at a later point?
  16. I am saying have a search, R33 is different to R32. R33 being that it is electronically controlled via a motor on the HICAS rack, R32 is controlled hydraulically via a solenoid. I do know that if you just unplug/rip out the HICAS computer, you will lose your speed sensitive steering. Other than that, I don't know of any issues with removing the rack itself. Search, it is your best friend There are also DIY/Tut's on installing a HICAS lock bar.
  17. Are these still available?
  18. Pretty sure there is a difference, for instance the GTR has the torque split indicator..
  19. Have a search, there is a few threads about locking the HICAS and do's/don'ts.. i.e. remove all the hydraulic lines (for R32), leave the HICAS computer plugged in or you get heavy steering etc etc.
  20. Nice time, but does it really have stock ecu and injectors?
  21. I have a SARD R2D2 for sale but I think it's a piston type
  22. It certainly would defeat the purpose, but shooting people without getting shot generally either takes practice or lots of patience hiding under a bush hoping someone walks by and it's not as painful as it looks
  23. Where is it held? I might come down for a gander.
  24. Cmon guys n gals! don't be scared! Tell your friends and come out for a great day of paintballing!
  25. ECU tuned for that stuff? if you just whacked them on you may have busted something.. If so, have you taken the power or signal for the thermo from anywhere funny? checked all connections etc?
