  1. My shimmed stocker is still going strong, has worn in to the point where I no longer notice it but still turns both wheels hard and is super predictable.. best addition I've made to the wagon
  2. Personally I'd be looking at a tiptronic stagea box (series 2)
  3. JPC? Steve May?
  4. +11ty to everything said above. As a practical daily driver, I would have nothing else.
  5. Oops sorry, that was on 98 aswell.
  6. It still won't stop an officer on the side of the road from putting another defect notice on it. Even with permits, the cops only need to suspect that something has changed to send you back to the pits. But I'm not some teenage little shit so I don't get hassled and rarely get looked P.S. move to WA where RB30DET's are easy to legalise
  7. I realise this and appreciate that is why he is now leaning towards the 26. I was addressing the plazmaman plenum on an RB30DET purely from a spacial standpoint. At the end of the day, you can still get stickered for semi-slicks here in WA, you can get stickered for anything if the cops don't understand it. Hell, when my 32 was defected (just after I dropped the 3L in and hadn't legalised it yet), one of the items on the list was for my STOCK BOV!
  8. R32 GTS4 540awhp through one 044 mounted in tank.
  9. My bad Some big food for thought there! Keep us posted on reliability Does your 6boost manifold have the wierd oval opening in the turbo flange? Edit: Zebra, do they come in T3 styled rear housings? My setup was originally for a GT35R but have moved that on and was considering a custom built Holset until I saw this.
  10. Looks like it's making 15psi about 4600rpm and creeps up to 24psi?! Impressive result for a cheap turbo! How do you reckon it would go on a 3L? do they have many housing options? P.S. take me for a drive!
  11. Any competent transmission place should be able to do it, if you have some basic tools and know-how you could do it yourself. All that needs to be done is to drop the valve body out, remove the accumulator pistons/springs and insert a welsh plug (50mm IIRC) in each hole, then reassemble.
  12. I know you're leaning towards a 26 now but just going back to your original proposed setup, I'm not sure a plazmaman plenum on a 25/30 will fit under the bonnet.. there's not a lot of room and the plazmaman plenum retains the factory runners (it bolts on top of the runners). Better bet is to go with a GReddy plenum, I couldn't find one for my setup (R32 RB25DE head, so RB20 style) so made up a custom plenum with GTR chamber welded to RB20 runners.
  13. Apexi N1 cannon is on the end of the 3.5" system on my 32, mate has the same setup on his GTS4, they sound mint.
  14. Mine is faster and more economical in RWD. Think about it.. instead of engaging the clutchpacks to drive the front wheels, the front wheels just become parasitic losses. It's not going to be as efficient as a pure RWD though. You would also have less wear on clutch components as there is less traction which means less load and less stress. I don't know about the M35's, but I regularly bounce the limiter in 1st in RWD and 4WD and the wagoon is still going strong. It constantly surprises me with the abuse she takes, just laps it up and asks for more! Our 4WD systems are quite intuitive, while there may be only a 5% split normally, under heavy acceleration and heavy breaking the system will feed more torque to the front. So really, any form of spirited driving is stressing the system. That said, there is a surprising amount of traction still available in RWD (I do have a fair bit of suspension work though).
  15. If there's not much on on Monday I might make an appearance.
  16. +1 for Hyperdrive, I've had them install injectors and fuel pump before, along with tuning (remaps and NIStune) - good service and good price.
  17. Aww cmon.. nothing beats smoking up the rentals car!
  18. Another option is NDC, that's what we run in our 30s.
  19. Ring Hyperdrive or Allstar Garage and go with NIStune and GTR injectors for probably 1/2 of the price of the Haltech and Sards.
  20. So much easier to build an RB30DET.. RB25 turbo on my 30DET spooled from idle (had to tighten the bov right up as it was pushing open at idle), made 12psi by 2200rpm and 183rwkw at ~4600rpm (compared to the same turbo on my old 20DET which made 12psi by 3500rpm and ~180rwkw about 6500rpm).
  21. Once kitted the tiptronic B boxes aren't that bad. It's not even expensive or hard to kit them.. a basic job is removing the 1-2 and 2-3 accumulator pistons/springs and replacing with welsh plugs. That's all that's been done to mine and it went from MASSIVE flare on 1-2 shift and wouldn't go in unless I lifted the gas slightly or bounced the limiter, to just getting the fk in there. If the wheels are spinning, you don't even notice the shift except for the extra smoke Getting a shop to fit the welshplugs cost under $200 including fresh fluid, best bang for buck thing done to any of my cars. As a daily, I quite like the semi-auto, manuals are still where it's at but grinding around in traffic in my heavy clutched 32 was just a PITA, much more casual in the semi-slushbox wagoon of skidness.
  22. There are only two restaurants in Perth that I regularly frequent: Italian - Capri in Fremantle, best Italian restaurant in Perth, not flashy but awesome food, my family has been going there since before I was born and it is the benchmark I hold all other Italian restaurants up to. Chinese - Chu Sing Chinese Restaurant in Stirling, again the family has been going there for over a decade, it is the benchmark I hold all Chinese food up to.
  23. That's not a steak.. that's half a cow! P.S. I've had the Wagu steak up at Frasers and I wasn't that impressed.
