I'm in Ashfield, just off the Tonkin at Guildford Rd.
I gotta stop in at chuckies at pick up a jack on the way (Champion Dve) then I'll be heading up the Brookton Hwy.
Interesting but I don't think it will be high enough, I think I'd need 3000rpm to get it on to boost (or put my 3L in the wagon heh)
Can you PM me what it cost to get that stall built? Cheers
Also, is the torque converter the same between R33 and R34?
GTS4/GTR are the 4WD models.
If you are looking are model codes (i.e. HCR32, HNR32, BNR32 etc) the 'N' signifies 4WD, HNR32 is an R32 GTS4 with an RB20DET whereas a BNR32 is an R32 GTR with an RB26DETT.
All 4WD Stageas and Skylines are like a part time AWD..
R32 GTS4/GTR runs 100% torque to the rear until it needs to feed torque to the front, up to 50% split (also feeds torque to the front under braking).
R33 onwards run a 5% split to the front then more when needed.
With R32's, you can just pull the fuse to make it RWD.
R33 onwards you need to either drop the front prop shaft or pull the bleed plug and hit the brake pedal 5 times after you start the car.
I need an AWD box and cbf swapping internals (box is still going strong though and was squeaky clean when we did the welsh plug mod).
How big is the stall you got from MVs?
R32's have the speed sensitive steering too.
Heavy steering is usually a HICAS fault, common causes are removal of the HICAS control unit and incorrect alignment of the clock spring behind the steering wheel (steering angle sensor).
P.S. ditch HICAS, the car will be more predictable and safer on the edge.
Where is that?
And who are you riding with Chuck?
Oh and rough numbers of attendees? don't want to end up with several kilos of snags I have to eat myself
+38 is gtst offset..
They will sit 32mm further out than say 33gtst rims (16x6.5 +38) would and 21mm further out than 34GTT rims (17x7.5 +40) would.
And 30mm further out than 32GTR rims (16x8 +20?).
* Figures have been rounded, I don't care about .25 of a mm
+1 to buying locally
My s2 C34 cost me 14k and it came with coilovers, fmic, full exhaust, hiflowed turbo and a Haltech.. bargain!
P.S. the WA subsection of the forums has info on importers and workshops in the Consolidated Workshops thread.
Any chance you could take some more pics of that plenum for me please mate? didn't know Nissan made such a thing!
IMO, if you were to +T the DE, I would use as much of the DET stuff as possible.. try score the whole intake/exhaust setup that someone is selling cheap after they upgrade their own bits.
I need to find a bigger stall as my stock 2300rpm stall just doesn't cut the mustard with a highflow that isn't making any serious boost until 3500rpm.
I have heard that 34GTT's are 3000rpm stock.. is this true?
What other bolt-up options are there? (car is a series 2 C34 Stagea, pretty much same box as 34GTT)
My 32gtst has a 32gtr bonnet and while I considered the same thing (going back to the GTSt bonnet so I could hack it up) they are so obscenely heavy compared to the GTR bonnet that I just couldn't do it.
