  1. You may or may not feel it. Some claim there is no difference. Others comment that a 40wt feels sluggish compared to a 30wt, especially for those who live in cold climates. Different people with different cars... so no guarantees but its definitely not a bad thing! Let us know how it goes...
  2. The ultimate would be to hook it up to your pool in the backyard! Now thats some serious heat sinking...
  3. For some reason I've found in general over cars of all age, FWD gearboxes tend to be smoother than a RWD counterpart. Why, I dont know (maybe because the gearsets are smaller and thus less syncro work) but the S2000/MX5/350Z are nice to use!
  4. LOL yes thats what the bottle says but they are just marketing it towards the ricers. Most new cars, 4 cyl or V8s run 5W30s/10W30s these days! In the USA the oil of choice is now the 5W20.
  5. cogs, depends on your budget. But something like Castrol Magnatec or Mobil Synth S would do the job. CCCP, Personally I would say take it back and buy the EDGE 5W30 instead. The 10W60 is pretty damn thick for a stock motor on the street.
  6. Its a big war. The best proof I've seen was a scan of a PowerFC manual, which stated the S15s having 444cc injectors. They are terracotta coloured.
  7. lol Cubes I'm suprised Antec would be so dodgy with using those caps? They're meant to be a top tier manufacturer. Speaking of caps, one of these caps blew on me last week on my car's ECU whilst driving in the country at midnite; Woohoo stranded in the middle of nowhere. Not fun. Bloody capacitors.
  8. You couldn't get anymore clear than RB30's reply lol. If the oils really left that kind of scar on the machine, your camshafts would be toast in no time flat.
  9. Its been said before and said again. The testing methodolgy is all wrong. Timken machines like the one used in the test are for greases, not motor oils. I wouldn't trust a single word written!
  10. The NEO likes to run a bit hotter though I've noticed..
  11. Yes 2530 would be the pick of the bunch. Have you considered the high flows that are available?
  12. Mainstream DX10 cards are still a while off (I bet the 8800GTX is crap anyway for the DX10 - more of a gimmick just like anything first gen), especially the games that will utilise it! I agree PCs are the best way to go but some games are still naturally better on the console and vice versa. Not to mention you spend far more money on PCs cos as soon as you buy something its out of date.
  13. Although I'm a diehard Sony PS fan and a M$ hater, I say the PS3 will be a failure for the following reasons - -Piss poor launch availability -Way too expensive -Too late to the market -Reports of it being harder to program thanks to the complex Cell CPU -No great advantage technically over the competition and you are basically paying for a cheap BluRay player whos format has a very shaky future. As much as I hate it, the competition will probably end up getting my money..

Yeah I agree with you Cubes. However there is one problem - you can only go so big in the center muffler! I tried to get them to fit the biggest one they could, but alas it still had to be a 5" hotdog style one. The rest would foul the tail shaft or would hang too low. I'm not sure how much room there is under a skyline but I'm sure it couldn't be much more than the Silvia chassis. I reckon the best trade off is when going externally gated, to have the ext gate to atmosphere and the main dump going to a nicely muffled exhaust with an ECV. Quiet on idle and cruise - animal when on the run with not too much restriction!
  15. They flow 444cc, not 480cc as per the PowerFC user manuals...

Hmmm I would say if the protruding holes ("clamshells") are facing the back of the car, there shouldn't be any additional restriction. However if you have the 'clamshell' holes facing towards the car, yes there would be some, but it should be quieter? I had this exact muffler installed into my car last week. Works quite well. No longer get headaches lol. I had them facing forward as I don't minding loosing 1 or 2 rwkw for a few more dB!
  17. Actually its interesting because Tsuchiya mentioned that the Mine's R34 had GT500 like acceleration when he drove it?
  18. How that thing didn't tip over itself is amazing...
  19. I vote tents as its not a real camp in bloody cabins!
  20. I'm too far away. Anyone up for an SAU cruise to my place. You'll need a full tank of fuel!
  21. Its to burn holes in your bonnet for that 2F2F look.
  22. 3x Tachos because 1 tacho doesn't cover the entire rev range of my VTEC-yo.
  23. AFAIK Disco the T04S compressors were also 76.2mm? Take a glance at the HKS GT2540 or the Tomei B8446...
  24. When an oil is spec'd for LSD use, they mean its appropriately friction modified for clutch LSDs. Most of our LSDs are viscous coupling (VLSD) which means they use their own internal fluid for the 'lockup'. So for VLSDs it doesn't matter if the oil is specifically rated for LSD use or not - just so long as its API GL5 rated. So you are safe with Syntrax.
  25. Castrol Syntrax 75W90 - GL4/5 suitable for both diffs and gearboxes. Castrol Syntrans 75W85 - GL4 for gearboxes only but tends to give better shifting than Syntrax for gearboxes specifying GL4 fluids such as our nissans. So you chose the right thing!
