Mysterious Pfc Missfire In An R32 Gtr
GTRAAH replied to itbmils's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
LOL funny you should say that, Its been weak since I can remember I bought it in 2006 first buyer in AUS Build Date July/1994 68k Speedo. It used to sit on about 12.6-12.8v then slowly dropped .So even then it was weak, I was told it should be between 13-14v while driving. Anyway now it varies between 11-12v Not very good the other day the volts kept going up and down 10.6 -11.5 And then all of a sudden my power steering cut off until I stopped the car waited a bit then drove again. Went back to normal and voltage stayed around 11.5 but this is when I went online and ordered a hyper alternator. Anyways So the mysterious missfire any one manage to get rid of theirs completely with the PFC? -
Mysterious Pfc Missfire In An R32 Gtr
GTRAAH replied to itbmils's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Not sure where the miss fire occurs? What do you mean Have you looked through this thread its the same weird thing some people have with PFC, its like a microsecond surge of NO POWER. Hiccup..etc...... o2 sensors are not old at all, this is not a daily.. I basically changed all the wear and tear bits at 90k now its 96... dOne the 100km service and I am pretty sure the 02 sensors were changed whilst getting tuned either way I have not anyone talk about old 02 sensors in this thread. How ever my alternator is Very week its on 11.5V whilst driving I wonder if this may be the reason... Then you would think it should keep happening constantly not ev every 200-600kms right?? neway I have a RH9 130A Hyper alternator coming in the next couple days. Has anybody solved the problem?? -
Mysterious Pfc Missfire In An R32 Gtr
GTRAAH replied to itbmils's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thread Re-birth 21/4/2013 and still no official fix? Car R32 GTR 1994 JULY build... Mine only happens maybe once every 200-500km or 3-6 days Very random and unpredictable. It happens rarely which is why I have not been so keen finding this problem specially when I see so many people having it and not one person finding an official solution. Guys my aim is to one day fix this issue, whether it be changing to a D-metro or a whole new computer all together. Is there anything which is better then the PFC for the GTR other then the D-metro? I am slowly changing every nut and bolt in this beast But ofcourse my aim is to get rid of the bugs 1st if possible. Car is not stock , -5s , Cams, AFM, Injectors, Fuel P, Coil pack-SF's, Gearbox etc... All internals are still stock and I am running at a Safe/healthy 330awkw. I really want to get to the bottom of this now.... Im in sydney is there anyone wanting to chat about this seriously? -
I managed to replace the steering wheel with a Momo corse And I have used A HKB Boss Kit Hicas Compatible.... Now I really dont get it... How sensitve is the Steering angle sensor? WHen I am cruising down the highway and give it a hit which activates the HICAS... It must detect that my steering wheel is not straight and the HICAS light now comes on.. Stays on until I turn the car off. When I turn it back on it only comes back when I am driving straight for awhile and give it a hit. I am confused as to what needs to line up there are no proper instructions All I see on the boss hub is an arrow pointing UP and it says TOP next to it. I tried to line it up while the car was In park position .. the wheels did look straight but I found out when I started to drive that it wasnt It was pointing at 1 o Clock.... My question is is this what is making the HICAS come on ? How sensitive is it? I am practically doing this blind as I cannot find any documentation saying how to install a HICAS steering wheel back on a r32 gTR Can someone help please ??

Taking Someone To Court And The Success Rate
GTRAAH replied to jays r33 gtr's topic in New South Wales
I have heard of people winning. And fair trading hardly cost you a thing, I have discussed this type of thing with them. There is no if's about it if the workshop has done wrong by you for-sure do not let ANYONE change your mind they should not get away with these things otherwise they will keep on doing it. Simple as that. Good Luck -
No damage has to be straight and never hit.
-
Got it woohoo.... I found If you hit the steering wheel with your palms left and right like your playing the drums.. It wedges it out of place,. Anyways thanks for this I managed to get it even tho one bit was abit confusing
-
This instructions are not correct, I am trying to follow these in my 94 Gtr and first of all the metal thing doesnt come out before the 19 inch nutits slotted underneith the nut so how can you pull it out with the nut still on there?? and i am up to the part where you hammer the steering heel off slightly and how bloody hard to you have to hit this?? I am trying my hardet to pull the thing and its not budging

Difference Between Straight Cut And Hellical
GTRAAH replied to Nizzzm0's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Convinced? Who knws you 2 can debate this if U ever find him... But you know how you said "But IF you were comparing equal materials, face width etc, the helical eats a spur gear" Does this mean automobile straight cut gears usually have a bigger facewidth to make them stronger? because why else would they be sold and marketed as being stronger -
Difference Between Straight Cut And Hellical
GTRAAH replied to Nizzzm0's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I found this comment on another forum interesting >>>>>>> Yup, There may be more "teeth" in contact on Helical. But there is Less Contact Area on those teeth on contact. With helical, its contact in the center of the tooth, or on the ends. But never the whole tooth and the added up contact area does not equal the contact area of a straight cut gear. Take some gears, and put marking compound on them, then mesh them You will see how little contact there is at any one time. Ya contact might be on 2 teeth, but its 2 little sections of those teeth, at the ends, or one section,in the middle. And that middle contact section works out to roughly 2/3 of a straight cut gear. Depending on diameter of gears Real life has proven it over and over. Like Luvmyhelis, I too have performance cars with a lot of HP. Helical gears do not last in my trannys either. Swap to straight cut, and they hold up just fine. Noiser tho. Same gears, same thickness metal etc. Heck, look at the transmission gears in real heli's. I bet there straight cut too Straight cut is stronger, Helical is Smoother. Incorrect on the teeth contact area, actually there are MORE area in contact, the reason that high HP racing cars go for straight cut gears is improved efficiency and no thrust loads. The reason that car gearboxes fail with high HP setup is that the box with helical gears was never designed to accomodate the higher thrust loads, so fitting straight cut gears eliminate the thrustloads and the stock box can handle the increased HP. Rule of thumb is, HELICAL GEARS = quiter, higher torque loads, decreased efficiency STRAIGHT CUT = higher noise, increased efficiency and elimanates thrust loads. -
Unfortunatly the price range are close its not the money issue here I mean the other brand may have been 500 more in total but You can find didferent prices around and some places sell t cheap, Thats why the money issue is not the way to go... unbeleivable how ppl can get away with these things No wonder why most ppl have to take the law in our own hand

Not yet soon as I get my car back..... So know one knows what the down side of taking to fair trading is , maybe there is none hmmmmmm
-
Thats the problem it was only verbal. The receipt only shows the type of part doesnt state ANY brand I never in the world thought this would happen so I didnt care but now I have had to pull the engine apart and I can see it cleary and its not what was told. It was 1.5 years ago and He recons he has witnesses such as his ex workers that say yes it was the brand that was in the car right now. Thats 100% bullshit anyone can make witnesses I can even create witnesses if I wanted. His is the biggest snake to walk this planet this is my baby I know for a 10000% fact what he told me as I have been speaking about this part everytime someone asks about my car I know everything about my car and what I purchase The frustrating bit which I cannot beleive is he is the one that stated the brand first and then I researched and agreed! we are talking about something thats over a few grand. Lets just say Its my word against his if I loose what happens?
-
Ok so you know a workshop has scammed you and you have 1 problem is that the receipt shows the part but no brand written on it when its meant to have the brand you wanted. Problem is you find out its another brand thats in your car but like I said the receipt does not show EITHER brand... Now scenario: You take it to fair trading.... what then, can someone fill me in what the steps are... What is the downside for me... Im not going to spend on a lawyer or nothing as Its not worth If I loose I will state the honest facts to the judge and hope they beleive me. What are my down sides to this if any? If its only that I loose then thats fine Atleast I tried , I more worried about whats my expenses at wrst case scenario

Difference Between Straight Cut And Hellical
GTRAAH replied to Nizzzm0's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
So even tho straight cut is stronger, A helical OS Giken would be the choice. That equals WOW.... They must be really bad in that case as a straight cut is roughly 35% stronger then a helical. So if an Os GIKEN helical is stronger then a Straight cut PAR, then basically a helical PAR would be around 70% weaker then a Helical OS Giken. LOL -

Ok How about this one, PAR Straight Cut VS OS Giken Helical? What would be the stronger set? -

How strange is that, people who try to say that nothing is wrong with par ... Like look at the above comment... I just cannot believe it NOT 1 person can say they have a PAR and its great NOT 1 how can they be a good brand if this is the case? -

I notice Par not having a great name, there has to be people out there that actually have a par set and are happy with it. -
is that kw abit too low? my stock gtr made 202rwkw with stock boost all stock except exhaust, hmmm
