  1. atm ive got a 3" split dump/front pipe into a 3" fujitsubo catback and an fmic i dunno wat kind of management im going to get yet but ive got gtr injectors waiting to go on, gotta get a fuel pump and im looking into some gtr cams to get it spooling earlier. cant do much about it right now, guess ill just have to live with the lag for a while
  2. Hey guys, just got an RB25 ball bearing highflow put on my RB20 just wondering how many of you guys have them and how do they go? like how laggy are yours? Wheres your power range? and how much boost are you running? Atm ive got mine on 12psi n i dont see it till ~3500-4000rpm but after that it goes pretty well i havent gotten it tuned yet coz im still looking for some engine management. its heaps different from the standard turbo since i used to see 12psi by around 3k i spose a good tune will get it spooling quicker?

Hey guys, the crappy mechanics i went to today didnt do up my intercooler piping properly and on the way home one of the pipes popped off and my car wouldnt hold revs. Luckily i was near my work where theres another mechanic i know and i borrowed his tools to put it all back together. Anyway in the process of pulling it all apart to get to the loose pipe i noticed that the inside of my turbo elbow and silicone joiner was coated in oil. Could this have happened in the few minutes that i was continually starting it and limping bit by bit to get off the road? Or is it something that would have been happening for a while and really need to worry about? I havent checked the rest of my intercooler and piping for oil deposits yet but i'll have a look in the morning.

  6. i dont see any reason for them not to be the same, a pipes a pipe but im sure there are many ppl here that can correct me on that as far as the cat goes, its always the most restrictive part of an exhaust system, have a look at it, from the flange its like a bottle neck. even if u just upgrade the cat itself u will get some gains. check out this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...2&hl=batmbl
  7. batmbl ones seem pretty good for the price gutted cats r illegal as far as i know (not worth the $10k or so fine), unless ur in NZ and yeh the exhaust will b louder, but the turbo will spool faster
  8. yeh the compressor clutch coil is gooorrne... coz the same things happening with my car. im getting the coil replaced. theres a DIY about it in the Faq section

Heehe, thanks for all the input everyone i went into GCG today to ask them about it and pick up a gasket kit 100% been hiflowed, steel wheels etc hope it goes alright on the RB20, im sure a good tune should see me 1 bar+ at no later then 4k...well im hoping so anyway The guy said they pretty much spool around the same time as standard so im hoping he's right. But then being an Rb20 i guess lag is just one thing ill have to live with

  13. i got mine from bearing industries in yennora yesterday $82.50 for the pair no idea on the part numbers tho, the guy at the shop knew what i was looking for straight away edit: for an RB20 by the way

  15. alot of mixed opinions here lol it has a gcg plate as ive already pointed out, i looked at their website n it does look the same. i did call them aswell but im waiting on a call back i might just go in n see them myself

Well lucky me then this is really going to put a hole in my wallet now since im going to have to get all the supporting mods to really make use of it i was onli going for a little bit more power which is why i was looking for a standard turbo the guy i bought it off was using the engine to do a conversion and already had a turbo for it, he thought this one was standard, well that was until we pulled the manifold off and saw the ID plate thanks for the input
  17. hey all, just picked up a new turbo today. was expecting to get a standard S2 RB25 turbo upon closer inspection it seems that its got a GCG ID plate stamped onto it, which leads me to believe that its been rebuilt/high flowed. Having never seen a standard turbo in person, i have nothing to compare to. Can anyone confirm this?

  20. i had this problem too in the beginning it was just going around corners it wud 'clunk' then it started happening more often over every bump turned out to be the radius/tension rod bushes my shocks were on the way out too so i replaced them aswell
