  1. I guess so. Nankang's not bad. What they put on mine is I've never heard of. But it looks directional tread. How much did they charge you for tyres? Mine's just a few $ short of $900. if they only charge you $5-600 that might reflect even cheaper quality... although price is not always the main indicator.
  2. If it doesn't rotate with the steering wheel then probably it'll be better to just re-wire the up n down gear shifter so pushing forward is downshift and pulling back is upshift. That's probably a more worth it mods. Might have to get some nice + & - stickers to stick on top of the original ones.
  3. possible but don't hold my words 100% as sometimes the courier can be real quick can sometimes not as quick. maybe just hold out till friday afternoon if there's no sign of it arriving then reschedule your appointment.
  4. Update to Group Buy 28 orders: Most rotors will leave the warehouse today or tomrrow, except russky's V35 rotors will leave early next week
  5. It really looks like OEM equipment, will be one very cool gadget to have...
  6. Maybe in KL... I was in Penang, just full of Proton Sagas...
  7. How r u gonna open your boot? with a key? Is yours a series 1 V35 Sedan with the 'doggie door flap' on the boot?

  9. No Chris - that was a coupe I saw in the local Malaysian ad. If only I could live there for 12 months then I could've bought it and bring it in as a personal import. But again - it's an auto trader ad it could've been a non-premium model and thus might pick up lower price - still a 350GT though
  10. hopefully it's all pre-wired behind that steering wheel column cover... as was said with cars without dealer fitted sunroof already had the sunroof plugs pre-wired in the roof...
  11. Do you think you're gonna be able to provide a supplied ready to install kit in the future with instructions to install?
  12. thats great news. Nissan should've done it properly then the car would be squeak free as good as a high class euro cruiser. oh Warren, will send your cable n lights asap, battery went bloody flat again and that thingy you want is in the boot and the electric boot release dun work with the battery flat.
  13. Unfortunately these are some of the pitfall that will happen to you when importing an Import yourself under SEVS... Edit: In exception if you live in japan for 12 months or more and owning the car there, you may bring it in as personal import scheme and you may get away with not having to convert the HID lights - just the basic RWC - but I am not 100% of the rules - they change the rule all the time. Haven't given it a total comparison but according to some people the headlights in 350GT didn't perform as well after being converted to H1, compared to original xenons. Regardless when this will deteoriate the headlights' performance, the law just don't care about it and the xenons need to be removed anyhow. If your manage to get your original HID ballast, you will have to reinstall the xenons again with risking the car deemed as unroadworthy for registration. This is a pain in the bum job as most cases you need to remove the bumper to get access to the light, or put the car on jack and remove the rims & inner wheel guard to get access. Either way it's not gonna be easy peasy. If not then the HID ballast would have been destroyed during compliance, and you'll be left with an option to either hunt the original ballast from local Nissan dealers (who may not be interested in sourcing the part for you at all), or buy an aftermarket HID kit from China/Hong Kong which sometimes creates more problems than glory. My bro in law's WRX has one of those chinese HID kit, and now he must turn his headlight on high beam all the times or the HID will flicker like a christmas tree light on steroids. So now he only have his high beams aimed low enough to become like a normal low beam and no 'higher' high beams. Pretty crap. I'm sticking with my H1 globe at the moment, cbf bothered to swap it for now. And before anyone ask - no I will not sell my original ballast - I'm keeping them.
  14. It just doesn't meet ADR. You will get your car with a normal H1 globe. No escape. You're not searching hard enough as there is already a thread about xenon headlights on the V-Series Skyline forum section.
  15. being less popular & rarer on the road can be a double-edged sword. on one side it can be as you said - hold the value better because it's just rare, on the other side it can mean low in demand so people are flocking them off for cheap prices in 5 years time in desperate measures to sell, or dealers are pressing the prices so low on trade-ins because they can't sell them. While I was in Malaysia I had a look at local 'auto traders' magazine, and spotted a V35 there that was flocked off at a very cheap price just because no one wants to buy it. rare like an F1 McLaren is good, value is up there (although we gotta be super rich to afford one). but rare as in parts are unavailable can ward off buyers.
  16. what is it on the right? OEM phone or cruise control?
  17. I thought they were all 206kw only for manual (or the most is 213kw) with the auto model going for about 196kw slightly less? Only the nismo 350Z I know is tuned for 230kw. Value will always drop especially as an imported cars it is such a niche market that you'll find a hard time finding buyers. In 5 years? You buy now for $35-40k for a manual, in 5 years you will be lucky to get $19-25k. To gauge this take a look at Toyota Supra TT 5 years ago they would cost $40-45k which I could never buy so I settled for a R33 gtst for $23k. When I sold my gtst last year, a TT Supra only cost $25k (a drop of $20k in 5 years) and I only managed to get $11k for my gtst (a drop of $12k). That said in 5 years the value will drop by about 50%. Taking that into account, in year 2013 the V35 predictably will cost possibly $15-17k for an auto, or $20-22k for a manual if using the same formula, add the fact that the car has no turbo, IMHO it will always be less popular than its turbo predecessors like the R32, R33, & R34. Mate, if you want good resale value, buy a used BMW of the mid-range 3 series e.g. the 320, 323, or 325. They held their value well compared to other brands despite the higher running cost, as it all came down to brand image. Stay away the high end 5 or 7 series as the more expensive ones tend to loose their value quicker as there's not much demand for them.
  18. Yesterday (easter monday) approximately 12:50pm spotted another silver V35 coupe on hoddle st & albert st intersection in East Melbourne, going northbound towards richmond/collingwood/clifton hill... was going the opposite direction, I was waiting at the intersection to turn right into albert st...
  19. if not end of this week then early next week.
  20. I don't have it on mine as that's where the boot release button sits. On yours it looks like a master bypass on/off switch to either your GPS system or the ETC (Electronic Toll Card). But I could be wrong.

  22. I hope you realised that during compliance the exhaust fitted by prime garage in japan must be removed and replaced with standard item, so I hope it's not a waste of your time and money getting it done over there before compliance is done...
  23. if the unit has an aux in that can be connected to another dvd player yes you can, if not it's probably not worth to keep. the dealer fitted cd changer is also known to get stuck on some cars, so might save you a lot of headache in the long run to actually replace the whole unit with australian model that works with local FM frequencies, local Region 4 DVD (I believe Japan got different DVD region and our DVD won't play in their players unless it's been 'hacked')
  24. is it a DVD movie or a DVD ROM that only reads japanese map software? if it's DVD rom then you're out of luck. won't play any DVDs. Carrozeria is normally a dealer-fitted optional audio system and it's very hard to find any info relating to their products. if it's not a built in dash Bose audio (just a normal double DIN) it's probably better to ditch it and get a new local one.
  25. who is your importer / supplier by the way, how come you all got pics from japan while I was told mine was sent straight to secure storage and therefore no pics were able to be taken?
