I would really like to see it get to a stage where it is registerable and engineered, even then 8k may be achievable.

This thing is like the village bicycle! In tassie there is no engineering requirements (well not all that enforced) and no safety check upon sale so basically anything goes. This was a HPI car i think a few years back , had a PUPMING fj20det in it, then Josh Priseman got his hands on it and used it for drifting, then he did an RB26 with a big single on it, then that got canned and sold to a kid that put the SR in it, has changed hands at least once since then. it isnt too far gone, it is 'restorable' but at cost.... but once a car goes to tassie its alot of work to get it back. not a bad unit though

Nice R30 there Rob, unfortunatly the asking price for these old birds are pretty sad these days. i couldnt sell my MINT hatchback for $2000 last year, and that included about another $2000 in spare parts (as well as a full turbo setup, manifilds, injectors the lot). Most commonly they go for $500 or so, give or take. the Import L20et powered 4 door HR30 sold for about $2500, that was a record high price so far!

Ok by now we have read th usual of lowlifes breaking into our cars. Mine is just another in the long list... The fubard the passenger lock with screwdriver or scissors, got in, pulled everything out of cernter console and got sprung by ME. jumped into their car and drove off I proceeded to follow. Engaged in an at-distance pursuit, ending in Coyone Street Gowrie. (I assumed the guise of a normal driver, melt into the traffic, no laws broken) I withdrew because I wasnt familiar with the area. Got numberplate, occupant description, car make/model. Went to Woden Police station, there was another lady in there giving statement that her car got broken into around the same time, she had a white serII R33 manual. got her cd's and ciggies gorne but the security got to her car befor they could disable the alarm. Police actually have a list of known skyline breakers, will get back in contact with me tomorrow. Now Im reseacrching paging alarm systems. and air compressors and slim-line truck horns

i scored a set of 300zx (z31 turbo) seats off ebay for 450, THEY ARE A BUGGER TO FIT, DONT BUY THEM!

you can carby an RB! I have seen a tripple carbie RB26de... sounded insane. although it did have a titanium exhaust..... in south africa the R31 was released with a single carby RB30s

ahhh the age old RB coversion thread.... it isnt overly complex to do, about 6 or so members here have done it, 20/25/30... I think we need to get the mpderator of this sectio to make the rb convo a 'sticky' thread that always stays at the top of the list/. Basic outline. Use R31 engine x-member and gearbox x-member need shortened tailshaft to suit, or a Nissan Bluebird TRX (RWD) 'need to confirm' use RB engine mount on passenger side, l-series on drivers side cos i havent done it myself (yet) this is all just what i remember over the last few years if you get a Ti Hatch, you get disk brake rear end, there are plenty of threads on here, just search...

Rocky Auto in Japan made a Kenmari skyline, had a highly modded Rb26 Non turb, had individual throttle bodies, custom tuned stainless extractors, looks like a work of art. puts out 300hp too. my plan of attack would be to get a ratty old R31 with RB30e, drop that into your car (would only take a few weekends) then drive that abour while you buy a 2nd RB30, but have it on an engine stand and build it up to a RB30DE (rb25de non-vct head) twin cam 3 litre, nissan (starting to sound like a 1JZ) once that franken moter is built, replace ratty engine with hipo twincam you can turbo it too if you wanted uber power. although i have seen the RB30de put out 150kW at the wheels with no mods except an Adaptronic ECU (very versatile, self tuning)

if i remember correctly the N47 has 8.7:1 comp, and the E88 has8:1 or near to that... E88 flows higher CFM too.

few weeks ago at braidwood a 75 y.o. man was in front of us in a jeep cherokee, he basically just went straight off the road and head on into one of thoes tall arse popular tree. my wife is trained nurse, and me with all the battlefield first aid training from the army, we got straight into helping him. he was fairly well cactus, 110km/h into a thick tree doesnt give you much chance at all. he lasted 7 minutes, as the ambulance pulled up he was gone. i then spent 5 min pulling fuses out as the fuel pump was still pressurising and leaking EVERYWHERE.... about 6 cars stopped to help, 100 or so went past (incl. a hot as Grey R34)
