  2. i am interested in the RB20de.... just as long as its going for a BUDGET price! i need something in my R30 while i rebuild the L24 to turbo spec i am in croydon during work hours, can come by to inspect after 2pm thisarvo??? will call to discuss etc....
  3. somehow scored a complete R30 sedan, 5 speed with a L24e, ported head, custom cam.... not running. $50 bucks pickup just spoke to a workshop, the said they will get it towed to their place, put the engine & box on a trailer for me, then keep the car for parts... now i'll have enough engine spares to start a race team! im still looking for a place that i can strip all the goodies out then give it to the workshop... as im still keen for some more bits but i can store any more 'wrecks' at my house anymore (there is actually a clause in my lease that i do NO mechanical repairs etc on the property....) but the landlord is a LITTLE sympathetic, having owned 2 280zx's in the past he love his dattos still (he said if it was a holden or falcon he'd evict me...) anyway anyone have a paddock or workshop i can borrow for a weekend???

SHIT! for the price of all that you could of got a L24 EFI with a turbo setup..... sometimes you gotta cut you losses and just drop the lot, but if it means this much to you just take it to a dat rally shop of somesort and give them a few weeks with it... let them know you'll pay by credit card adn just pay off the debt... id fkn burn the shitter if it was mine.

  7. wowzers! daily driver for sure! some origional extras too! I'd say its an 82 or 83 (the thin back bumpers have the black strip in them) could be a massive job getting it back to standard condition very interesting though!
  8. hybridz.og has had extensive postings and communication about the DOHC L6 concept there is one fella who got 3x KA24de (2.4 litre nissan bluebird) heads, chopped em up, and bolted together etc. $15,000 doesnt seem to go far in this concept either. it isnt even running yet! for the same price you could get a single cam L6 to produce more power in the first place. it all comes to dollars....

  10. i spent 9 hrs on stripping the wreck yesterday.... i have the m'bar layin in the spares bucket... i can measure it for ya when i get home? the most frustrating thing for me was i could NOT get the diff off.... the bolts are FUSED tight... i even tried grinding the nuts off... (then a spark got past my glasses and burnt my eye lid...fkn!) the landlord has given me until lunchtime tomorrow to remove the wreck and associated shit piles... so i been really busy!)

  12. looks ace.... gets my brains ticking! i have spent so much time and effort on the L24e idea/project i just gotta follow through for now.... but one day that will be taken out and rebuilt... so i guess i will have to have SOMETHING rumbling away while im rebuilding the L24et aye! dad reckons a CA18det would be good as fuel will be pretty $$$$ in a few years... but it will be a bit too "tame" off boost...
  13. i have seen caps come off definitly! can you get some pics of the engine setup? ive been toying with the idea of an RB30 powered daily driver R30 sedan... the old fella across from me is probably selling his business, eventually he wants to sell the R30 he got back in 1986 (had front end damage, so he was one day gonna fix it) i keep thinking of getting another R30 and put in a nice lightly modded Rb30 in it... they are just hassle free and easy to work with! plus millions of spares for them (unlike the L6 dotto engines grrr...) plus every aussie bob auto shop has a pile of engines out the back.... (so theyre not considered fkn GOLDMINES eh! dont have to pay $300 for a decent flowing head....)

  15. i know they are pretty easy to replace, as they arent in the tank itself. they are underneath the car above the right cv shaft area. one from the wreckers could be a quick fix, but keep an eye out for a bosch 040 or similar. $700 is the most fkn useless qoute to get from repco... fk heads! even pumps from RB30s are meant to be able to fut... i will find out soon enough!

GTR30 (the fella with the blackR30 turbo) gets all his work done here one of the mechs there used to have a worked FJ20det (DR30).... he knows his shit! im getting all my steering upgraes done here (bushes, alignments, braces etc) once i have the cash! if they cant post the parts to you let me know as they are 1 km from my office... i can sort it out!

  18. yeh i was lookin at the black thing!...SHINY!!! there are alot of R30 available for minimal cost, but hardly any are good enough for compliance, and thats where the money is for the importers! i do know of an importer with 15 DR30s, one with a FJ24det....... but thats his personal one!
  19. go on ebay, adn find an ebay store called "Ringwood Auto Parts" adn a guy called Rob will help you out. he has the part numbers and nolothane aftermarket catalogue, or know of a suitable replacement.....
  20. if someone was after a true one of a kind (in australia) then this would be it.... harldy anyone out there actually knows what this is (or recognise it!) if i was fully loaded, i would bring it over, take out all the running gear and rebuild it all and then put it in a shed, then drop a nice Rb30, CA18det, RB20det.... L28et whatever the budget desires one day (like 10 years) this car with all the origional gear in it would be worth SHITLOADS (so make it last till then, and put the z18 thing back in etc...)

  23. ive tracked down a P90 head with turbo cam etc.... also tracked down a N42.... im kinda confused which is the best one to use! i might just stay with the N47 until i bust something on it, as the big D once told me about a N47 equipped L24et that kept up with a WRX!

  25. i can vouch for these lil rockets.... looses a CBR250 RR with ease.... can keep up with my uncles VFR400 in the twisties too... for under 4k you wont find more fun... good luck with the sale!
