  1. Need part numbers mate... i had them some where, will check soon. (maybe ask big JC, )
  2. IM really keen on this. Need some coldness on my L24 turbo Can you get a quote for postage. Im in Ringwood,Victoria 3134 Cheers.
  3. The shafts from the diff to the wheels will need to be custom, as im certain the R31 is wider, you will need a customised driveshaft too. to get IRS on a R31 is a BIG job... the trailing arms need mounts to pivot in and things like that. If you have a car stand and rip out the old live axle shit and then put the IRS stuff in the approx location you want to mount it, you will see alot of custom mounts will be needed to make it fit... A Z31 (300zx) has IRS with a mutha R230 diff, (nissan equivalent to 9 inch) the track on them is wider (shafts are longer)and may be more suited... you would be looking at more fab work and dicking around than putting the RB in!
  4. well they ar probably alot better when they have a few mods etc... the one i was in was just imported, and was in need of some serious TLC i think if the price is right i would consider one, then drop a silver top in
  5. PM me with details on how to pay etc.... I'll take a set of $10 White cheers
  6. have you ever driven one??? i have driven R30, R31, (including the HR31) and R32.... the R32 was so easy and loved the corners, the R30 was similar, just not as much power, but very well balanced, absolute shitloads of potential and the R31.... mate these things are a boat... it was like driving a massive falcon or something... now even with a turbo R31 they are good in a straight line, but are actually difficult to corner predictably/in total control. just find one and drive it, if its what your after great! but i know what i would get if i had the cash....R32 with RB25det fo shizzle i ended up with a kik arse RM30 as it was $400 and i couldnt pass it up...
  7. Go on www.fastmagna.com they are a pretty good bunch, but its hard to get on their forsale enabled user list.
  8. AARRGGH!!! i had it allout on my workbench last night, and the cat knocked a oil filter off the shelf and it landed on the compressor wheel..... bent a corner of a blade like it was playdoh..... i tried to bend it back with pliers... SNAP!!!! ( plus it was 3am as the wife hates it when i work on stuff) so now there is a 3mm x 4mm piece snapped off.... the rest of the blade looks the same as all the others.... Now is this areally bad thing? or will it be fine? Im only looking for a nice upgrade from the 80 or so kW i have now, so guys im not after massive power (yet). i seriously wont be running stacks of boost either.... probably wont get any bigger than 2.5 exhaust too
  9. yeah thanks, i guess it would be cheaper for me to buy whats left and get new bends put in than to buy a whole new one.... Im building a R30 with L24/L20et setup... nice simple torquey daily driver.... but with a 3" at lest it will go a bit better!
  10. so your saying you had a Rb26 in a DR30??? where is it! gotta show some pics! can i have pics of lights and dash...might get them both from ya... and what happened to the catback??? need more details mate!
  11. SCRUFFY??? mate it will buff out... And what the hell is a J series! man it looks like it was pulled out of my grandads fishing boat! along with the battery (Look at the size of it!!!) is it powered by the battery, and the engine to charge it up??? (joke!) It would be a great project... red/white leather interior, white wall tyres, polished chrome everywhere, chopped springs... if it were mine i would chuck in a L series, (cos there are stacks of em around) but the sump configuration would be interesting! goodonya!
  12. What other DR30 parts available??? (List whatever you have, as it will most probably sell REAL quick...) Im interested in the tail lights aswell...
  13. make that 2 of us..... I surely am intersted too!
  14. So it aint all that good then?? I only paid $150 incl. pipes and some boost sensor looking thing is there anything i can get done to it to make it perform better or is it not worth it??
  15. here is the only pic i can get... its exactly the same as mine, even from the same year 300zx turbo(my mate is stripping one..wont sell me anything though) we tried to un-bolt the exhaust section off the back... and it is the most hardest thing to undo, we soaked it in WD40, hit it, blow torched it, and those bolts will not come out.... how do professionals do it??? is there a recommended way of taking one apart? (im stuck as you can probably see...)
  16. i will get some pics asap... it was from a 120,000km 1984 300zx turbo (Z31) wreck... it is eventually going on my hybrid L24e (2.4lt 7.6:1 comp ratio) the turbo outlet doesnt have a flange on it, just a lip on the end of the 'pipe' im not after massive pwer, just some more grunt...
  17. I picked up a Turbo, dump pipe, intake system, wastegate... everything basically from a 300zx turbo, for a very good price. The plan is to make a L24e with some fancy stuff done to it... the question is, What is this turbo?, it has a water cooled center, oil inlet and out, ball bearing.. its almost the same size as a R33 turbo, Can anyone help me? it is really hard to find info on it... like what does it flow, the AR etc...max psi (17 i think...) its in mint condition thats why i bought it straigh up, without researching it... at the price it was too good to pass Cheers, MAG86
  18. Factory 5

    Thanks Mag86

    relpy posted on relevant topic.
  19. I hereby express my gratitude for the time you took to check this car out for me, and the pics are great, they showd me exactly what i needed to know... I apologise for not contacting you earlier , and for not giving the correct details in the first place. And yes, i do have dyslexia, and it is no fun at all. I cant remember names or numbers or what day it is, how old i am , it takes be 20 sec to tell the time on a watch... so instead of badmouthing me on a public forum, please contact me personally.. im sure you still have all my details. Shit mate ive only been on this forum a few months, dont give me a bad reputation already, its not like ive screwed you over or ripped you off or anything... Cheers, Andrew
  20. I think VL turbo injectors are a good replacement too, at least you wont need to worry about pinging, and i was told that L20et injectors were almost maxed out on the 2lt... so it might be a bit dangerous on a 2.4lt especially since it will be under more boost than the 2lt too i found som VLt injectors for $150 for the set... not too bad i think
  21. I reckon i wouldnt have a problem with that... I have been married for 6 months, got no reason to go over 180km/h... yet! need brakes first! (AND FLIP UP NUMBER PLATES...) I have some good Eletronic Engineers here at work (we design mobile networks, private (telstra, 3G etc) and government...) im absolutly positive we could bypass it....(the limiter that is...) i think there would be a relay that receives speed intput, so i could just bypass that, and run a different sender to the dash... I dont mind what i use, but the L28et definitley runs better fuel maps, and i wouldnt have much problem with detonation/pinging etc then eh!.... attached is my interior...
  22. Thanks D, That helps out alot.... I am wanting to go with a L2Xet ECU cos i dont have the cash for a full system(and tuning...) I have a fuel only computer in a kit, it adjusts the signal from AFM to ECU, so if the mixture goes under 14.7:1 or whatever it is, i can up the fuel at the revs that its happening at... there is a way to have different fuel maps on a pc, and change between the ones i want ie. Fuel economy mode, street mode, and animal mode!! But this is fuel only, not ignition adv./retard (i got another idea for that...) A good thing about this kit is i can change the AFM to whatever i want...even a RB25 hotwire ! (for example not actual figures of course...)if a stock vane type AFM puts out a signal of 1v at 2000rpm, 2v at 3000rpm 2.5 at 4000rpm and i install a hotwire, and the output is all different... like 0.8 v at 2000RPM, all i need to do is adjust the signal to compensate for the drop... so add 0.2v at 2000rmp to match the origonal output of the vane type.... Personally this is a hell of alot of dicking around, with the same result as useing a L28et or L20et vane type AFM. the only possible benefit i can think of is less intake restriction, which means quicker throttle response and quicker spool up?? With the sedan from canberra, i would love to buy it and transfer the parts/engines etc but his car requires many more dollars of road worthy repairs than mine, plus the drum brake rear end the sedan has.... And i dont really have a spare $1800, plus whatever it takes to bring it down here! I could part out the rest, but i seriously think i wouldnt get much more than $400 in parts...(that might cover the towing...) I just need to save more, and hope he doesnt sell it before i can pay for it! Its probably worth it in parts, since its all there apart from an intercooler but i dont have the cash right now. I might start thinking about a loan of someone or something like that... But hey if anyone needs parts (apart rom the turbo stuff) let me know... we might be able to help each other out Cheers to ya! P.S. (yes this is me 25km of the coast of Tasmania... looking for this giant red shrimps that hide under boulders....)
  23. im interested too! (not actually contemplating) the NEO 25 has more torque than a Rb20det (I've heard...) brillinat fuel economy too if driven nice...
  24. I already have a Ti Hatch! It has disks all round yes, I was just unsure about insurance or engineering etc... The reason the brakes feel so crap is the master cyl. is leaking, and i guess it could do with some good pads. I found this the other day, sounds pretty interesting... This guy got his LPG L24et running some serious figures...(and killed that many parts its almost funny) http://homepages.picknowl.com.au/wardr/ <----- SAVE THIS PAGE, VERY GOOD READING "...I have put in KYB front inserts from a z31 300ZX and a standard KYB R31 rear shocks. This has brought the car lower by 30mm which is almost un-noticeable, and improved the handling substantially. I also added a strut brace of my own design. The difference was astounding. I also needed a brake upgrade, and with that a wheel increase to accommodate the larger diameter discs. A visit to my local Datsun/Nissan wrecker had a set of R31 discs and callipers in hand for $130. These fitted straight on, after a precautionary rebuild, without modification. A chance call into Jap Parts at St Marys had my eye firmly fixed on a set of 15 inch Skyline R32 non turbo 11 spoke rims. As these are 4 stud rear wheel drive they would bolt straight on. My decision was made easier when the price was cheaper to buy these rims (with tyres) than to replace the 195 x 75 x 14 tyres on the car!...." END QUOTE And keep us posted Stagefumer, I have some things lined up, but it all takes time. Let me know FIRST ok! oh and the L24et Sedan in Canberra, well i got someone to check it out, it was all a big rush... But the car looks shagged, the engine looks like a 'whack it together and see' kinda job no way is it worth $1800, 324,000km plus... ripped out interior...the paint is cracked, faded, and scratched beyond repair... cracked windscreen, ITS A SHITBOX.... but i still wantsome engine parts, but i can jsut fork out all that cash right now, especially since i cant do shit with the body etc If anyone wants to crack a deal with me for sure... its got a 5speed which is a plus...and a 2.5 inch exhaust ( which is melting the cv boot ) attatched is a pic of my hatch, which i payed $400 for (AND IS SUPRISINGLY QUICK FOR AN AUTO!) , then his sedan, which he wants $1800 (and i only want some of the parts....) 100_5083.MOV
  25. i better be careful with what i look for then... i will request a part number from seller, to clarify. someone told me R31 disks and calipers are an easy fit to the R30, is this true? i read something about toyota hilux fit too, I know the breaks i have now will NOT be enough with a turbo setup...
