  1. i could be wrong, but arent the r34 smic only good for 200rwkws, so in your case and your power goal..the r34 smic cooler may not be sufficient. i second that!!! time for a just jap special
  2. i'll second that! easy to drive as well ideal for street use with the occassional spirited spurt. they are pretty cheap as well..$500 for the whole clutch kit cheers
  3. hey there, after a drive do you smell anything burning? if you do, it could be clutch burn. a few months ago my clutch started to slip in 4th, but the longer it went on, it started to slip in 3rd...2nd then finally it was starting to slip in 1st. once its gets to 1st gear, the clutch is on its last legs. i think if you can? take ur car to the clutch specialists in your state, and ask them to check your clutch for u. it really shouldnt cost you anything. got my clutch changed with a xtreme heavy duty cushion button. they are 25% heavier than stock. they are grippy and require an "on or off" engagement. not too bad for street driven cars. cheers
  4. Congratulations mate! all the best! 300rwkw as a daily driven car! hehe.... damn i think alot of us would also love 1.8 bar damn! your kids are lucky.
  5. i agree, i think the cop doesnt know what he is talking about or maybe he didnt have one of those decibel meters on him at the time so he thought to just defect and make something up. i figure if he had the decibel meter he would have done you for excessive noise level. these kakimoto cannon type exhausts are pretty loud. ive got one on my car, they look crazy and i love the sound. though cops dont like them one bit! imo, fill the cannon up with steel wool to quieten down the noise and then contest the defect. after u get off defect, remove the steel wool and enjoy the wicked exhaust note again! goodluck with clearing the defect mate! cheers
  6. spotted r33 series 2 near ingle farm shopping centre around 4:30pm, with fmic, rear wing, rims...have a feeling it was Adz2332. but i could be wrong? eitherway nice ride mate!
  7. i am not a mechanic by any means, but another sau member on here told me this Undo all the plugs on the box. remove the like slave cylinder. Remove box cross member bolts and box bolts. Access the top ones using an extra long extension. If you can't get it in, use a transmission jack with rubber on the sump to tilt the motor slightly. Rotate the box to clear the starter, and pull it backwards. hope that helps, cheers
  8. PROEVO for the win! love that game! konami have done well. those soccer games are awesome. fifa is getting abit better each year, but proevo has always been good
  9. yeah i dont mind if we invite other car clubs, but since this will be SAU's first YSA cruise, prolly better if we just keep it as sau only. i would be up for a sunday cruise relatively soon! i think within the next few weeks is sufficient notice. i mean it doenst have to be too big! i think the sooner the better! cheers!
  10. My vote is for a sunday cruise! yeah 11th or 18th march would be good. April is abit too far. but hey i am up for anytime. cheers
  11. count me in for the SAU cruise! that would be awesome and besides its for a good cause
  12. damn! your post just beat my post by two minutes! but yeah i agreee with ya mate
  13. Congratulations on the r33 buy, you must be cheering! the r34 smic (side mount intercooler) is different to the r33 smic, its a bit bigger, thicker in diameter. hence i figure is better for cooling and flow as compared to the r33 smic. r34smic you could prolly get for about $200 bucks and whereas fmic + piping ($345+ delivery...those justjap coolers). i could be wrong but ive heard the r34smic are good upto 200rwkw....anyone wanna shed some light on this? IMO if you have the money, go for the fmic because sooner or later you will be hit by the "power bug" and will want more and more power. ...just my 2cents cheers!
  14. spotted yesterday [sin031] in magill campus car park, nice car mate! are u on here?
  15. In my opinion, powerfc for the win, value for money! great features etc... forgive if i am wrong, but i believe Apexi have ceased production on these power fc's for the r33, hence since their is a still a demand for these..unfortunately they can cost abit more. anyone can shed abit of light on this? i think maybe other members will agree though, the standalone powerfc is the way to go for an r33. cheers just my two cents
  16. hey all, the idea of the switch is a good idea to control when you want highboost or when u want two stage boost. ANYONE got pics of their switch, or installation of the switch that they could post up. assuming you cut the black wire and ground it, without using a switch. just a quick question? is this mod reversible? like if u want the two stage boost again without using a switch. further down the track could u reattach/solder the black wire through its original path again? or is stuffed once cut? hopefully someone can help? Cheers
  17. D1 garage... for the win!!! Vivagarage is apparently under new management, their gear is getting abit too pricey!
  18. true! good point! Again an interesting thought... my friend overheard the conversation with the commo driver and the cop. the commo driver told the cop that he was travelling 70 odd. the cop asked him "did you know this is a 60 zone?" the commo driver quickly changed his story and claimed that he was only driving 65km/h. still it really depends on what the witnesses say because at the end of the day its one persons word against the other. To make things worse my friend copped a fine as well ontop of damaged r33, not sure what the SS driver got. The ss driver has full comp insurance while my friend only had third party. The cops only write the report, i think its up to the insurace company to determine who was at fault. isnt it done by percentages?? cheers!
  19. hey mate, sorry i really dont know if it was still orange when the commodore came through, the cop reckons if the witness on the motorbike can definitely say that the light was orange, then they can pin the commo, but thats still a lil sketchy. all i know is that its going to be a pricey repair bill. cheers
  20. agreed! i dont think there is any problem with jump starting the r33, ive done it a few times and yes from the front as well. Hope that helps! cheers
  21. hey all the white 33 was my mate, poor guy! his bad luck just doesnt end. i wasnt there though, apparently my friend was waiting in the middle of the intersection at the lights waiting for the oncoming cars to stop so he could turn right. the lights went orange and a truck booted it through the intersection. Out from behind the truck was a white SS VS Commodore driver booting it as well. as my friend turned right. "bang" IMPACT ON HIS FRONT LEFT guard, TYRE, spun him (r33) 360 degrees around. air bag popped out and pretty much saved his life as the impact propelled him forward with his head nearly hitting the steering wheel FUEL started leaking out of the SS, the battery in the ss Commodore shorted and create the explosion and subsequent fire. though at this early stage the details are alil sketchy. From all reports the SS driver admitted to my mate that he was travelling 65-70 kms in a 60 zone. Result: No one injured, SS written off. r33 sedan impact on left hand side. engine not affected. just thought i would update everyone, cheers
  22. hey mate, got a mate who might be interested can you get any pics of the box? cheers
  23. Update! just an update the car has been found and was retrieved last monday. Not too sure about the details of the condition. apparently the car was dumped as it ran out of petrol and the thieves/ joy riders couldnt be bothered filling up. cheers!
  24. hey mate, what sound does this bov make? any soundfiles/clips? cheers!
