  1. Taronga Zoo then just up the road to the Mosman Hotel for a $6.50 steak and a few beers....
  2. If you are looking for a cost effective coilover, you might also consider Just Jap's G4 coilovers. Flexibility with spring rates and fully supported locally. I don't have them but they are a forum sponsor, have run discounts on the forum. and I suspect you will find someone who does have them. As Salad suggests, check out Sydney Kids's group buy. Also read what SK has said in the forums around suspension. He knows his stuff and his recommendations might change your approach to upgrading your suspension.
  3. In and a vote for the Fiddler....
  4. pictures are usually helpful
  5. The reason you get bothered is because of the other muppet P-Platers in here who think they have a right to drive illegally. If P-platers wonder why older drivers aren't sympathetic - it is because a large number of (though obviously not all) P-Platers in a Skyline act up and make life difficult for reasonable car enthuasists. I think those guys need to discovery the power of VTEC......
  6. So I get to the office this morning and have a conference call. Guess who's headed to Brazil the week on May 6th? Yup, lucky me. There goes the DECA Trip.....
  7. Seriously - congrats. Now the fun begins
  8. and the exciting news to go along with that is?????
  9. I'm planning on being at the ANZAC day event. Will be my first track day. Should be fun.
  10. Nice job putting it together Jess! Good putting names with faces.
  11. I'm definately in. Send the details on where to send the money. I'm going solo so I'm looking for roomies and if someone needs a ride down I'm sure it will beat the company of my IPOD by a large margin.
  12. Came across the Circuit Club web site the other day and noticed they were having a track day on ANZAC Day coming up. Anyone have any experience with these guys or their events? http://wp.circuitclub.com.au/?page_id=3
  13. I don't know anyone else either so we'll wander around until we see some likely suspects, but if you are seriously shy hang by the parking lot / entry way as I suspect most people showing up in Skylines might be a good guess as being someone who is part of the club. Worst case, walk around and listen for a semi-loud American couple (no - ALL American are not loud - contrary to popular belief) at a table with a group of people - That would be my wife and I... Alternatively, if you're a guy (girl), just ask every good looking woman (man) in the place if they drive a Skyline - might never find us but might not care depending on the answers.
  14. How is space - still have room for one more? I'll talk to the wife over the weekend but suspect I'll be up for it. Anyone need a roomie?
  15. If you want performance, get a GTR. The RB26 is the best 6 ever made and if you want to drop bucks into a motor it's a much better place to start. GTR's are also not just about going fast in a straight line - Atessa is amazing. Other lines can look prettier and with enough $$$ can be faster but why start with less than Nissan's best?
  16. How's inventory on the R33 GTR parts?
  17. KT Project Japan Clear Front Bar Indicators if you still have them I'll take them
  18. I dropped her a note - will let you know if I get a reply. Insulting someone who doesn't really understand the car culture really doesn't help. My guess is she was tasked to do this and did the best she could from 2nd & 3rd level sources of reference. You have to wonder if she had direct access to SAU and other car groups, if the paper would have been better. I'd think we would all agree that the "hoon perception" is an issue (personally to the extent that other's behaviours impact our reputation and impede on our ability to enjoy our cars) though granted, not as much as drugs and other crimes, and that we as individuals or SAU can play a role in solving the problem. So what can/should we do about it?
  19. How out of place would a total noob be at this (the driving part - not a noob to drinking by any strech...)
  20. Because people who own GTR's want to do more than burn rubber on the street....
  21. I spent the day developing a cardboard outline for an airbox to fit the Apexi intakes on my GTR. Next step is to get some aluminum sheet to start making the real thing. Any suggestions on where I can find some good quality / reasonabley price sheet aluminum? (yes that is the American spelling and you would laugh at my pronunciation of the word.)
  22. If you see a cop in a skyline, ask him to join SAU. Besides defects, which I think for the most part are pretty silly infractions (pod filters - a danger to society?), we want the cops pulling over hoons and getting them off the street. We should not be engaging in behaviour (burnouts, racing, etc.) that should make us concerned when a cop pulls up behind us. If you are driving like that, I hope you get busted, because you ruin the reputation of the the rest of us who don't. If a cop incites you to race him and you do, then you should get busted for racing. The point of being part of a group like SAU is we have events where you can safely drag, drift, race on a track if you want to see what your car can do. Guys, why antagonize the police? Off duty today - on duty tomorrow - then he sees you (or the next guy driving a skyline) driving down the street and pulls you over. Think he's going to treat you like you didn't tell him off? NO (gee, maybe he'll forget I told him off...duh). Think he wont pull over every 'line that he see 'cause "those skyline drivers are smart asses?" - He will. That type of behavious is simply stupid.
  23. Llooks like a great idea but just saw it this morning. Love to do it later thsi year some time.
  24. I have a pearl white 'line and have a problems with the bottom lip part scraping the street (like most). I took it off, sanded it down, and painted it matte black (spraycan). Look very JDMish nice and when it gets scraped a bit, is extremely easy to touch up. Don't think I would do the whole front though.
