Apparently my car was close to being a write-off with 8k damage when it was insured for ~16k with JustCar...? (this is hazy memory here, I know it was 8k damage but not 100% that it was 16k but would have been close) Maybe JustCar does things differently?

I think another thing with Texi is you're not getting the free-flow air into your intercooler that you would on a track; might account for it. But also on a track you're going up and down the revs, but when you hit a skid you bounce off 7k At least I was for a bit... heh.
