  1. Cool. Which company provided the insurance? Was it Shannons?
  2. I'd imagine it would be very difficult to get an insurance quote from the majority of companies at this stage. They're always loath to providing insurance on imported vehicles. Maybe a broker is your best option.
  3. I use mine as my daily driver when I'm on uni holidays (otherwise I walk to uni most of the time). Obviously things will greatly depend on the level and type of modifications to your car. Mine is fairly stock; only things are pods; exhaust and suspension. The cabin gets hot. There is minimal airflow with the windows down and your back eventually starts to sweat due to the relatively tight and narrow driver's seat. The engine bay generates a lot of heat and it seems to seep through to the cabin if the interior fans aren't on. The ride can be incredibly harsh depending on your suspension. The lack of off-idle torque makes it a pain in the ass to keep up with slow traffic. The submarine-like turning circle makes it difficult to park the car in many parking spots. Fuel consumption can be frightening (most owners seem to average around 400Km from a full tank). But I gladly put up with all of that because it is such a fun car to drive. Plenty of interior space, a decent boot that can take in a fair amount of luggage/items. Did I mention its a fun car to drive? Summary: The car is a pain in the ass in many situations but I'm more than willing to put up with it because I love driving the car.
  4. lol this post says it all:
  5. Blowing cars up? Just kidding. 400AWkW is quite astounding if the only thing changed was the ECU. So does that mean the car could have reliable and comfortably ran 350AWkW by changing just teh ecu without many dramas?
  6. even then i think that all 3 models of GTR were geared to hit redline in top gear before 300kmh. i could be wrong but i believe you'd have to change the gear ratios or to extend the redline to get a R32-R34 GTR to hit 300kmh.
  7. rim's aside, that's one ugly mofo IMO.
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't R34 GTR's have bigger fuel tanks than R33's? Anyway, my (stock) R gets an average of 380-400KM from a full tank (~50 litres). And that's mainly city driving. I've noticed that highway economy isn't actually that much better, driving to geelong and back I'll use half a tank and its about a 200Km return trip from my area.
  9. The driver and passenger should go purchase several lottery tickets, it's obviously their lucky week! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10...graph-pole.html
  10. Jeremy clarkson gave an opinion which presents yet another thing to think about. If a car s limited to a certain speed then it only has to be engineered to cope at that speed i.e. brakes, suspension, tyres etc that can withstand 180kph or 250kph for example. If a car is allowed to run to 200mph (around 320Kph) then the whole car will need to be engineered to hold up at those sorts of speeds. Maybe its the law of dimishing returns? Unfortunately I can't remember which episode of top gear he said that on, but I do remember that he was talking about why Mercedes chose to limit its CL cars to 155mph or something.
  11. The southbank Esplanade along the Yarra is a nice spot to hang out. Right next to the CBD, plenty of restaurants and not too far from albert park either (plenty of public transport to get you around).
  12. Damn that's one ugly mofo!
  13. He'd just gotten off a plane flight from France though, so we should cut him some slack. It was quite an impressive documentary, National Geographic were the right people for the job.
  14. Lol I guess I used to read too many car mags instead of doing my uni work... that's changed now of course :-D
  15. if you're going second hand you can'e beat SAU for sale or wanted to buy forums. it's amazing what you can find in those forums.
  16. Except the special neglects to mention the worst thing about the GTR - I can't afford one!!! ...yet :-p
  17. isn't the LS3 in HSV's only at the moment?
  18. Just watched the latest episode, not bad but they need to replace that Warren fag.
  19. maybe he's jealous he doesn't earn as much as you and has to put in hours that can destroy family life? Having said that maybe they earn more than we think... does anyone actually know what the salaries are for different police ranks?
  20. Wouldn't it be cheaper to just purchase an R34 GTR? :-p
  21. IMO the best part of the site is the for sale section - makes it easier to find all those hard-to-find skyline parts Hell, some GTR parts are as rare as an honest politician.
  22. From memory there were R32 Nismo GTR's, but I don't know if they had nismo badges in the interior.
