  1. So the following car is for hairdressers?
  2. Merc is onto a winner with their new designs. They look very tough.
  3. Would you have a sense of humour if you had a shitty job and got payed shitty money? I wouldn't, lol.
  4. If you're going in there with your lawyer then just shut up and let the lawyer do the talking :-) The whole thing will be over very quickly so if you're on your own then keep your statements short and to the point. Explain that there is a second car in the photo and that the police can't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it was you who was speeding and not the other car. If you're pleading guilty, I doubt that you'll get to say anything anyway.
  5. This has to be the reply of the year! OP, you've lost your license THREE TIMES and you're getting offended because people are making fun of you? Don't you think you need to change your attitude towards driving? It's one thing to enjoy a car, it's a completely different thing to lose your licence three times. On your red p's. Meaning that you haven't been driving for very long and you've already lost your licence three times. By the way, if you've lost your licence, why do you need to get another car? Do you plan on driving without a licence?
  6. A State Roads inspection is a good starting point. You'll lose $250 but at least you'll know what the mechanical condition is like. IMO, every single import should be checked with a fine-tooth comb. You can't trust anyone these days and a lot of them have been smashed at some point. It's always a good idea to ask if the seller is willing to have the car inspected at a reputable workshop. If they have nothing to hide then they're generally willing to compromise and have someone look at the car. Worst case scenario is that you take it to the workshop and they say it's no good, in which case you just don't buy the car. If the seller is hesitant at getting the car looked at, then usually that's an indication that there's something to hide. I would suggest at least having a look at the car. You've got nothing to lose by just inspecting it. EDIT: I just realised the car is up around the Central Coast, which means it will be a pain in the ass to get it inspected by anyone other than State Roads.
  7. The rear quarter panels look like they were just stuck on as an afterthought. "Oh shit, the front is a lot wider than we expected. Quick, lets put some panels on the rear to make it match". Fail. IMO the front of the R35 it too rounded for an R34 rear. I'd like to see this conversion on an R33 - they lend themselves better to rounded bodywork and wide body kits.
  8. Lol. As far as cars go, you can't beat a highly modified AWD car for the perception of gigantic G forces. For example, highly modified GTR with AWD coming on to full boost is a wickedly frightening experience. It's absolutely awesome. The problem with this style of non-linear power delivery is that you get the feeling that you're really just hanging on for dear life and hoping that you don't lose control. I can only imagine how much more pronounced it is on a sportsbike.
  9. He should have gone with a 4G63 mated to RWD. Still, an awesome effort.
  10. One thing we're forgetting is that owning a 1000hp GTR is actually within reach of mere mortals, whereas owning a Veyron is basically impossible, even if you're rich enough (they are limited numbers after all). While I would love to own a Veyron, realistically, I'm more likely to own a 1000hp GTR. I can live with that :-) Cool vid btw.
  11. Beer Baron, you've made many, many good points. I'm personally sick and tired of the governments demonising motorists and misinforming people about 'safe driving'. In fact there was a great article on Autospeed about safe driving and median speeds. http://autospeed.com/cms/A_1234/printArticle.html And for those people saying that this is the law and we should be punished if we don't abide by the law, THE SYSTEM ALLOWS US TO DEFEND OURSELVES AGAINST LEGAL ACCUSATIONS! So think twice before saying something to the effect of "don't whine like a b*tch and just pay the fine/lose your licence". OP, good luck mate, I'm interested to see how this whole thing pans out.
  12. I finally purchased a R33 GTR and it's exactly like the real thing! Right down to the way the ATESSA-ETS catapults the car the other way if you counter-steer mid-corner with your foot on the accelerator! Not too sure about the sound of the engine though, my old rb26 didn't sound like that, lol.
  13. OK, I'm very impressed with the physics of the game. The in-car view on the S15 is awesome and it feels like the real thing. I can't wait to get a R33/34 GTR and a Legnum VR-4 to compare them to the real thing. One thing I've found though is that I've forgotten the layout of most of the tracks because I haven't played a GT game in a few years! So I have to relearn everything now like a noob, lol.
  14. Well I gave in and purchased the game today. It's a decent game for $77. Having played it more, I can say that the driving physics are definitely much better than previous games. Not sure how long i'll stay interested, but it will be good for casual gaming after a long day at work.
  15. I wasn't expecting an entirely new game - I was just expecting something considerably better/different than GT4. It might simply be that I'm over video games, but GT5 doesn't do anything for me at this stage. It seems like they were so focused on the 'details' that they lost sight of the bigger picture. I might be judging it very harshly but I think they have dropped the ball with this game. From what I've played, it doesn't really bring anything fresh or new to the gaming experience. Each to their own I suppose.
  16. This has to be the thread of the year! And, I just want to say that Mr Bean's mini owns all other cars. Including the R35 and the VN Commonwhores. Lounge chair on the roof FTW.
  17. I just played it at JB for a few minutes and it felt like... Gran Turismo. The graphics weren't as good as I thought they would be (though some of the cars look fantastic). I felt like I was playing GT3/GT4 with HD graphics, which is a big FAIL in my books. I think I'll wait for it to go platinum before getting it. I'd be interested to hear what the guys that purchased it think of the game after they play it for a while.
  18. Picsorban when you get back to Aus! Congrats on the car. They're amazingly driveable on the freeway aren't they?
  19. All I want to know is: Where's the XF Fairmont Ghia with the EFI 4.1 and the broken door handle? If there should be any Australian car in GT5, it's the XF!
  20. Ah f*ck it, all governments are about revenue raising. At least NSW will be marking the mobile speed cameras. So if anyone gets done for speeding (if these changes are ever made) they deserve it.
  21. I think the guys whinging about this should go live in Victoria for a while. At least the NSW government is willing to identify the mobile speed cameras. The Victorian government seems to make them increasingly harder to notice. As a motorist, would you guys rather pay a $200 fine or lose some demerit points? I would rather pay the fine, because I need my license.
  22. Are you guys ready for a Friday arvo laugh? http://au.ps3.ign.com/articles/113/1132522p1.html
  23. You better put it in storage.
  24. The DULLARD code was better than the blood code. Down Up Left Left A Right Down Start and you got access to all sorts of neat codes and cheats. Can't believe I still remember that!
