  1. This looks very interesting, the replacement to the Murcielago... http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/AllCars/246530/
  2. If you're looking to buy an R33, you'll notice many of them are Vspec's anyway. If they're modified (which most of them are to some extent), then the differences between the two models become largely irrelevant. Are you looking to buy one or is this just a general question?
  3. Lol the R34 is something that I'll get later. I had the car insured for $27,000 agreed value so it wont even come close to covering the cost of an R34. I'm moving to Sydney so I'll have to keep the cash on the side to buy furniture and have some reserves for a rainy day.
  4. Just an update guys. Shannon's has decided to pay me out instead of repairing the car. The interior was completely stripped (except the dash), boot was totally stripped, boot lid and rear spoiler were gone, bonnet and front bumper were gone, some of the engine bay had started to be taken apart. In other words, the thieves didn't waste any time. On the bright side, at least the two thieves were caught red handed and they will likely get convicted. Oh, and this might be a good excuse to get an R34 GTR sooner rather than later. All I have to say is that Shannon's was a pleasure to deal with through the entire process. They had top customer service and I will definitely insure cars with them in the future.
  5. Car engines in boats have been done before... so I'm with Mark, why not? http://www.boatpoint.com.au/print.aspx?Tab...p;ModID=1612404
  6. Mate, from my own experience, don't buy a nice car while you're studying full time. You'll be putting yourself under enormous financial pressure. Just wait until you finish uni and then get your toy
  7. I'm not getting my hopes up yet, but I'm moving to Sydney at the end of January to start a job up there and I am desperately hoping that I can take the skyline up with me. I'll keep you guys posted.
  8. Quick update. The car was found in Avondale Heights by the police. I'm still waiting to get details from them. Apparently they arrested a drugged up female that was sitting in the car at the time and all they would tell me was that the car was "partially stripped" whatever that means. I'll let you guys know what happens, I'm just waiting to call Shannon's to put in a claim tomorrow.
  9. Yes I had it for sale a while back but decided to keep it. I've finished uni and I've found a good job so I thought I'd do a few mods that I'd been wanting to do for a while. I had just replaced the clutch too! What a pain in the ass this is!
  10. Yeah I found the post you were referring to, thanks. By the sounds of it isn't my car though :-(
  11. Done.
  12. 0433 236 389 If someone spots it, I'd prefer if they call the police, only because it's already on their system and they would be able to chase it down/tow it away if they had a chance. Thanks though.
  13. I arrived at my cousin's house at around 10:45 pm Christmas eve. We went to bed around 2:15am and when I left the house at around 12:00pm on Christmas day to go home I realised that my car was not out the front. It took a few seconds to realise what had happened, all I could think of was "Where is my car?". I had to double check that I didn't forget where I had parked it - I've never had a car stolen before and it was surreal so I wasn't sure if it had actually been stolen or if I had parked it somewhere else. Then I got over the shock and understood that it had been stolen. Merry farking Christmas.
  14. The car had a viper alarm and immobilizer installed. I was spending the night at my cousin's house (I actually live in the northern suburbs), so I left it parked on the street. Otherwise I keep the car garaged at home. Unfortunately, this is the first time I've left the car parked on the street in about 2 years :-( I've got comprehensive insurance with Shannons and I've already notified the police in the area. We didn't hear a sound. There is no glass on the side of the road. My only guess is that the car was towed away and/or pushed down the street before being stolen. It's the weirdest thing and it sucks big time. Perhaps I should have installed a better alarm with GPS tracking. Fingers crossed the car is found soon and with no damage.
  15. Hi all, my R33 GTR was stolen from Caroline Springs on Christmas Eve. The car is Silver Sonic with a carbon bonnet and SAU stickers on the rear windows, so it should be easy to spot. The registration is RTC 430. If you see the car on the roads please call the police and report that you've seen it. Ray
  16. What more do you guys want? The GTR was given equal first with the R8. Reading this thread made me think that the magazine hated the GTR.
  17. Falcadores are built in Australia, so it would seem logical that the Government would want to purchase locally made cars to support local manufacturing. As for the taxis, things are changing. I've seen several hybrids being used as taxis around Melbourne.
  18. I think that Clarkson has loved all of the 3rd Gen GTR's (R32-R34).
  19. It's all a question of preference. Ferraris don't really do much for me, so I would personally take the R35 GTR. Having said that, if we were talking about an old Lambo like a Diablo or something similar, I'd take the Lambo in a heart beat. So, if you love Ferraris, get the 360.
  20. This definitely depends on whether you're a Ferrari person or a Lambo person. I've also loved Lambo's much more than Ferraris, so for me the choice is easily the LP640. Which make do you prefer?
  21. As bad as the super sedans are, they're infinitely better than the V8 utes that so many people think are sports cars. Having said that, the recent HSV sedans appear to be good products, and while note being comparable to supercars, they're definitely evolving. But, I can't say the same for the utes. It seems all they're good for is circle work and burnouts.
  22. Hell yeah, it was kicking some a$$ back then. The cars it managed to beat on the track are some mighty impressive cars.
  23. Clarkson hasn't changed a bit
  24. I couldn't agree more. I watch Top Gear UK because the three presenters have an incredible chemistry and they are very, very entertaining to watch. If I want to watch a car review then I'll hop onto www.autocar.co.uk or I'll watch 5th gear (incidentally, the Jason vs Tiff segments are very entertaining also, and those boys can DRIVE!). The aussie Top Gear just didn't have the same chemistry as the UK show.
