  1. LOL So you like it there then hey?
  2. the lights are photoshopped right? looks nice and clean.
  3. there's a north side of brisbane thread just there heaps of people from your area.
  4. this is true. same reason people get radiator deflectors/air guides, intercooler air dam guides etc. it forces the air to go through where it should rather than the path of least resistance.
  5. dont forget the extra cost of rails... those seats don't have rails if I remember correctly. AND, they are rather heavy compared to the item they are copying.. ie recaro, sparco etc.

  7. sorry mr voice of reason!!
  8. there is no difference between the turbo and series 2 NA blocks. the series 2 NA block just has a hole blocked up by a bolt where the turbo one has the turbo oil return line plumbed in. I'd get the NA block as it has never had any pressure over atmospheric pressure. ie - none.
  9. I don't give a crap about pissing people off. If you want to be the type of person to consider peoples feelings when voicing your opinion on an open public forum, go right ahead. explain how? the twin system will be from the cat back as that is the only time it can be split. anything that aids spool up time is the dumpipe design. It will not make the performance of his car better in anyway. and he knows that already. he just wants it for the look. good luck with it.
  10. you said I thought it was a stupid idea.. however, I also said people are so f**king sensitive these days. you didn't like that I didn't think you had a good idea? Go have a cry emokid!! for f*ks sake +1 for meetup beatings.
  11. oh look http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t103095.html
  12. Hey man.. don't be so negative. it will produce more midrange torque due to the way it's designed. because there are 2 pipes it means more money was spent. this in turn leads to lighter wallet, a feeling of stupidity, and a the need to lie about it to people you don't know on the internet. therefore, applying the formula: need2Bdifferent + feelinstupiddue2xtracost = need2lie2intraweb. this forumula then manifests itself in to the theory we call "thefirstbullshitreasonyoucancumupwith" Therefore, twin exhausts = increase in midrange torque. You should know this man..
  13. please make sure you have full comprehensive insurance that covers all the mods. It's worth it. oh edit... brake shuddering usually means warped discs. if there is plenty of meat left on them, most mechanics can take them off and machine them. At this point you should get new pads aswell... the gearbox shaking feeling could just be the gearbox mount is worn or possibly one missing. Mechanic will be able to check it and let you know what's needed. How much fuel is "lots" to you? maybe fill up, reset the odometer, drive for the week or until you feel the need to fill up again. make note of how many litres you fill up with.. then check your odometer again. THEN: litres put in at refill / km's travelled since last odometer rest x 100 = L/100kms eg 45L at refill / 330km travelled x 100 = 13.6 L/100kms Also, you find that your first week or first few weeks you will use more fuel than you will later.. it's natural to do that with the new car
  14. you got the car back from insurance? I'm a little confused. if it was insured, then why are "you" doing any work? you pay your premiums. they give the car back to you good as new when something like this happens. I may have missed something though..
  15. Get the EVO 6.

there was one in the forsale seciton for $13900
  19. to help you out, I'll give you $50 for the stock shitty intercooler.
  20. sorry DICK. those things change emissions yes. but the altered emmisions are still going through the cat and somewhat cleaned up.
  21. bro.. you'll blow the ceramic piston wheel in to your ROD converter with that many psi's.. sorry if that's too technical but thats they way I roll.
  22. yes.. but bonnet up with open to air pod filters will obviously breath better than a sealed box with a small intake. bonnet down would have shown different results on the pod filters I'd say.. especially say after 2 WOT runs.
  23. correct. All silvertops were created equal.
  24. not mechanically.
  25. bov vents clean air that has been sucked in.. well it's not clean as it's got some fumes due to going through the pipework where there is most likely oil.. but the wastegate is gasses after it has been mixed with fuel and burnt. VB - stock turbo wastegate works different to an aftermarket external gate. Lets say on a series 2 GTST pretty new 96 model seems to be common. that is now 11 years old. about 100,000kms. OBVIOUSLY not going to be as tight as the day it left the factory. especially not a spring that has opened and closed over and over for a million times. heated and cooled just as many times.. runs a 7psi from factory. at idle, yes it's shut. lets say you are cruising along on 2nd gear at about 2700rpm, down (insert typical hangout street here), slowing down traffic while you build up a bit of space between you and the car in front. You see some chicks so you floor it. before your boost gauge swings around to 7psi, the waste gate has already started to open at around probably 1-2 psi to bring the boost on smoothly... so it doesn't come on real hard and end in stupid wheel spin. it's how the factory boost controller is designed. not to mention the 5psi spring in the factory wastegate actuator. if you add a boost controller to increase to 10psi because you want to start your own missfire at 4500rpm thread, the gate will start to open a little later.. say around 4-5psi and be fully open by 10psi. ANY 3inch exhaust (mandrel bend or press bent) will outflow what a stock skyline turbo can push out. any aftermarket 3 inch dump and front pipe will outflow what the stock skyline turbo can push out. Even those cheap 1 piece bell mouth dump/front pipe combos. by the time you get to aftermarket turbos big enough to require an external gate, you would have already got some sort of management, injectors, afm, manifold etc etc. external gates (plumbed back or screamer pipe attached) are adjustable. you can adjust the spring tension. you can swap the spring for a stiffer/softer spring. MOST have more than one vacuum/boost source to control the openning and shutting of the gate. the flap is larger in diameter also. all this is obvious isn't it? stock turbo wastegate port is tiny. it's like having a 1 inch exhaust with no muflers. being on a stock turbo, full boost of 7psi will be reached by like 2500rpm (or there abouts). at these revs, a skyline exhaust note isn't even at it's tastiest. and now there is this high pitched screech at those revs because it's already fully open to control the boost. AND, it had started to make a slight screeching sound a little before (this is the leak I mean) because it has had to start opening to bring the boost on smoothly as designed. I don't think I can make it any clearer why "I" think stock internal gated turbos with screamer pipes sound like shit.
