  1. rich.
  2. hmmm.... maybe I should have taken more time to give it a proper go at the time.. I'll leave now then..
  3. Hey man.. you can't come in here and quote real life experiences. especially if it's against skylines. you're going to ruin peoples dreams. No way a Pulsar hatch can beat a skyline. Skylines are sports car's y0!
  4. You can't go wrong with a late model R34 man. the 5MT is one of the strongest you'll find on a road car. Id say the only down side will be the stock turbo on the R34. if you leae the car stock, it's all good. but to make it lag free, nissan have used all lightweight shit like a type of plastic for the compressor wheel and ceramic for the exhaust wheel. which is all good and gives the car a lag free driving experience. how ever, increase the boost to around 12psi and they tend to let go soon enough. apart from that, at those boost levels, the ECU runs in to rich/retard issues and you need an aftermarket computer or some sort of AFM signal bending piggy back like SAFC. A hiflow, ecu, injectors and fuel pump and you'll be good for over 220rwkw before the AFM maxes out. Z32 AFm and you'll be on your way over 250rwkw. I'm sure the XR6T produces these numbers easily, but the R34 will be about 200kg lighter. I'm sure you won't regret getting an R34 GTT
  5. no.. just been.. you know.. hanging around. doin stuff... and things.. you know..
  6. If it is a repost, sorry.
  7. R33, 1 R33, 2 I'm sorry. I can't see the difference.. Can you?
  8. I think you'll find it's not because you have a whale.. it's because you admit to having intimate feelings/emotions about a vehicle. or it could be that they immediately assume you also like Fat chicks which is a sick thought on it's own. They're all like "oh.. you "love" your r33 skyline hey?" they're thinking "what a sick bastard.. I bet he get's his end wet in fat chicks too... *shudder*"
  9. GTR front bar will only fit with the GTR guards. you'll have to get a copy designed for the gtst guards. or butcher the GTR one.
  10. start by cleaning the AFM go for test drive. if it's fixed, leave it. if it's still doing it, take it back off and SOLDER it like mentoined. You will find a HOW TO guide in the DIY section.
  11. so what they are saying is
  12. speak to user CEFFIE on these forums about ibfo on re-mapping the stock ecu. problem with stock ecu is this. stock turbo's at 0.9bar will flow X amount of air. GT-SS turbo's at 0.9bar will flow Y amount of air. The new turbo's will provide different amounts of air flow at different rpm/boost/throttle position. I'm no expert on the ecu but I'm not sure if the stock ecu is smart enough in it's pre-programmed capabilities to make adjustments for the changes. there are GTR's in Japan running 10's with stock re-mapped ecu's. The reason I say to talk to user CEFFIE is that he is not a workshop and I don't think he sells the stuff. However, he has re-mapped his own ecu and some other peoples. with brilliant results. He may even have a re-map for a gtr already saved somewhere which might be a good starting point.
  13. wet compression or dry compression test? will show different results. (the variation won't change but the actual number will)
  14. I heard a rumour that if we all don't buy fuel on Wednesday from BP, australian fuel prices will go down let's all do it guys.. who's with me?
  15. Cool. thanks for your input.
  16. this is bullshit man.. hope it sells soon
  17. TRUST one might FLOW better. but still, if it's same size, cooling capability wouldn't be much better. the size of the stock unit can be found on here. search for it. EDIT: Shit.. 119 thick is definitely thicker than stock. so the cooling would be better. anyway, search for the stock specs.. it has been posted. search by user Sydneykid.
  18. nice sports car that is reliable and decently sporty and cheap to maintain and on fuel and light and nimble and brakes well and turns well and will keep you happy and be faster than the laser with the comfort of air con for under $20K??? Sounds like an S14 to me. Aus delivered. insurance is possible. get the camry spec series 1. no different mechanically to series 2 or the S15 for that matter. very easy to maintain. not as chatty interior as an S13 or 180. Considering series 2 S14's are down around the $15K - $16K region (there is one for sale on this forum for $14K), the series 1 which is less thrashed as they're not sought after by the hektiks, are priced well below $15K My old S14.. Interior made 175rwkw on 14psi, fmic, turbo back exhaust, S15 Cat, filter, SAFC. ran 13's. had S15 shocks and springs and 300zx wheels (they're wider than S14 wheels). back then (3 years ago), I bought it stock for $15K Mods cost me: HKS replica dump and front pipe = $200 S15 CAT = $30 Cat back = $420 filter = $70 FMIC = $500 Profec A boost controller = $150 SAFC = $150 Tune = $150 S15 shocks and springs = $250 never missed a beat. had 120,000kms on it. Only reason I still don't have it is it was stolen. Forget the GTR on a budget mate. The only thing BUDGET on an R32 GTR is the current purchase price. you will spend AT LEAST that much more to make it a decent reliable car. then ofcourse, you will sell it at a massive loss.
  19. I forgot about seating. Recaro buckets in the EVO compared to the lounge chairs in the VR4. or the EVO steering wheel compared to the VR4 Bus steering wheel. same same. I've had a vr4 as well. let's just say a mitsu from the 90's is not a nice vehicle to own. But any evo from say IV up is a good thing. 6.5 up is even better.
  20. keep the ford Laser or bike for regular transport.
  21. never heard of it but have you tried to contact VDO?
  22. hahahaha... beard. probably.. he has a VK with 2JZ using subaru turbo's. mongrel of all mongrels. drop him an email through the link I posted somewhere before..
  23. Was.. I sold it over a year ago. Colour is R33 GTR series 3 Midnight Purple. same colour as this guy's car who is trying to sell it in the sale section. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t188227.html
  24. lol... that's deep man..
  25. should be achievable under $5K. hiflow turbo - GCG would be most expensive at about $2K or cheaper is HERE.. about $1500 for a whole KIT of manifold, turbo etc.. fuel pump - GTR, Bosch, Walbro fuel injectors - GTR 444s with a GTR ballast to make them work fmic - Just jap kit will do fine, or GTR one. turbo back exhaust with seperate wastegate pipe - take a pick fro many options... Just jap/otomoto type ones are cheap and good enough for that power. Z32 AFM - $300 ECU - rechip or stand alone ecu (speak to user CEFFIE from these forums re: rechip) boost - probably about 16-18psi (Turbo tech bleed valve = $50 or electronic ones start at about $200) tuning - anywhere from $300 + that should give you a resposive rb20 with about 220+rwkw now prepare another $5K for brakes, clutch, tyres, suspension
