  1. On a similar note, is there a wire down under the dash for reverse? Maybe on the TCM? My head unit has a dedicated reverse input and a wire to switch, and I don't really want to run the wire down to the tailgate...
  2. I'll write it up tomorrow Cam, knackered now. I got photos of absolutely everything, and it will definately be an idiots guide to doing this. So many things I wished I'd known in advance that will help the next person.
  3. Blah blah blah Fitted Scottys bastard cooling mod. Instructions and the whole sordid install tale to follow.
  4. Btw Loz, next time youre talking to Simon tell him to buy an M35, i've been trying to convince him for ages! I work with him in Adelaide.
  5. Nope, headlights are a physically different size between s1 and s2, as Cam (iamhe77) discovered...
  6. Looking forward to it. Picked up the care package edition from EB, apparently was shipped yesterday. Gives me a couple of days to finish MW3!
  7. If you really wanted to make it work surely you can cut the two bars and fibreglass them together?
  8. Thanks Cam. Options were grab the gasket, which would require making sure Scotty's bracket was completely flush (if it did warp when he welded it) or just using silicone. I have the silicone so I'll just do that.
  9. Finally bought an alloy fan shroud for the Mishimoto rad. Hopefully it won't need much or any modifying, but we'll see when it turns up.
  10. Ash, I think hes talking about the options listed on the D2 site. They say you can get sport or race pads with the set. Can I get a price on a 356mm rear 350Z or G35 set please?
  11. Hey, I got the cooling mod Tuesday! I didn't have any silicone otherwise it'd be in already! Intake is waiting for Andrew to get an opening, he's pretty busy at the moment. BTW Scotty, PM me your phone number, might try and drop by when I'm in Melbourne if you're about.
  12. Finally went round to Supershit and picked up a cheap mobile phone holder to mount the Informeter to the vent. It's been out of the car for over a year, so it's about time it went to good use. I think there are a few guys with them mounted this way. Bracket cost about $10, I think it should work well. Should be useful with the upcoming changes to the cooling system and intake, to measure the before and after. And while I was taking pictures, I don't think I ever posted any of the EVC setup... So I mounted the display over between the cluster and the pop up screen: Under the bonnet, I'm hoping that it's pretty subtle: With the stepper motor mounted under the new battery cover: The extra wiring you can see next to the stepper motor is for the F-con intake temp and MAP sensors. The FPR will be mounted on the left, next to the stepper motor. Saturday morning I'm going down to fit Scotty's cooling mod, then I'll hopefully leave the car with AM Performance next weekend to finish the intake while I'm in Melbourne.
  13. Great project. Makes me miss my Pulsars. Funny with the lowered springs, my N14 had the same issues. But little manual SR20DE buzz box was fun!
  14. Just get a PM35 and be done with it Andrew! You know you want to!
  15. Not sure anything is that bad Aaron!
  16. Interesting... Not an 05 though, it has a series 1 dash. I'm more interested in what the "400hp turbocharged V6" is. Is it just an upgraded VQ25DET? I like the look of the front end but it needs something around the rear wheel arches to finish it off. Also needs bigger brakes - they look tiny behind the 20s!
  17. What's that gasket called Cam? If I can get one today I will, otherwise I'll just silicone it. Cheers guys, I'll try and take plenty of pics for a writeup.
  18. Looks pretty good! Would I be correct in saying 330mm will fit over 18s, and 356mm will need 19s? Interested in a price on rears too. How easy are they to get replacement pads?
  19. I'm going to try and fit this kit up on the weekend. Would I be right in saying it'll take an hour or two to remove the plenum and get down to the middle of the V to fit the top plate, about half an hour to actually fit the kit, and an hour or so to put it back together?
  20. Funnily enough, I have one of those mug warmers. Need a coffee machine I can control via the web/smart phone.
  21. Cooling mod received today - thanks Scott! Will try and get it in this weekend. Radiator and hoses are due Monday, but will take a couple of weeks to get around to fitting. Once the radiator is here I also want to see if we can make up a custom fan shroud to run thermos before the radiator goes in.
  22. SSDs are ruining the computer user experience. I remember when I'd hit the power button, then have time to go and get a coffee before it had booted into the OS. Now my MacBook Pro with 128GB SSD boots in about 20-30s, and I don't have time. Dad's new Win7 machine with 60GB Vertex SSD is about the same. It bothers me.
  23. Interesting to see there are already 'fixes' for some of the changes in the interface, such as the Start menu, but everyone at work who has migrated over is about 90% in favour. I'll be migrating my sister's laptop on the weekend, fresh install since technically I'm upgrading her Dell from Vista. We've had a ton of charities getting donated copies too. Sounds like Win8 is a good way to get more life out of old computers.
  24. Erm... what? Found some new springs yet?
