  1. When will the Targa be televised?
  2. Well.. Picked up the head.. Dont be turned off it.. It needs a good clean but internally its in very good condition. Now.. I have a question.. Is this a VVL head? Because I noticed that it has the enlarged ends at the cam shaft covers. I noticed that my dads RB25DET VVL has these too. Below is my RB25DE head out of a Staggy or 33. Note that its Does not have the same bulges comming out of the the camshaft covers. Ideas? Thanks guys! Project is still alive.. just a slow build
  3. And whats so bad about this? The site is great!.. The pics are fantstic and the cars hardcore!!!.. Theres a couple of stunning cars on there.. "Rice" is not always bad.. Good to see there are people doing great things with function over form!
  4. LOL!.. Love it Cara!.. New lids look the goods!..

  8. After driving a couple of AMG 63's and a E63 AMG I can tell you that this car would be balll breaking stuff to drive. When I drove the E63. Its not really the acceleration that gets you (even though it feels like your breaking into hyperspeed throughout ALL rpm range).. its the brakes. They just rip your face off. I jumed on the anchors and the seatbelt snaped into lock and almost hit my head on the steering wheel. Clarkson always spoke about cooking Merc brakes after no time at all and never really being able to turn the traction control off. Thats because the brakes act as the first form of traction control to slow certain corners of the car to stop it from sliding. And then the car cuts off the trottle. By pushing the "traction controll off" button dosen't really do much. You need to put the car in "dyno mode". But its not common knowledge how to it. So not everyone knows. Just a bit of useless knowledge and criticism against Clarkson
  9. Head pics will be up HOPEFULLY this weekend.. Linda been screwed around by the buyer for a while.. But its still alive and well..
  10. FJ porn. Best of luck with the sale!
  11. Why not just upgrate to DET items? Saves you a HEAP of money!.. Money that could be spent on getting something that would acctually increase power/responce. I wouldnt really bother. Unless your planing or doing mods tht will require a higher rate of fuel to be used. Dont replace things for the sake of replacing them. Replace them because they need to be replaced. If they can be repaired of fixed, do that then automatically forking out a few hundred dollars for something new.
  12. wow. HARDCORE! Pics of brakes and engine bay! Any vids? Thats one PHAT 31!.. made oh so much sexyier it looks BOG STOCK STANDARD!
  13. You may need to soak the nuts and bolts in WD40 for a while.. And breaker bars are a good idea too. Save yourself a whole heap of effort, trouble and problems..
  14. Ideas on whether a ceffy cage would fit a 32 4dr?
  15. I also found polyurithane bushes help steering responce. The stiffer bushes stop some of the flex in the OEM rubber ones, which, especially in a car as old as a 32, are likely to be perished and soft as. just a thought.
  16. Yes and no. Attessa system adds 150 odd kg's to the car. Which is a fair bit in car terms NA's, especially heavy 4WD 4 door NA's, dont really create enough power to have massive traction problems off the line. I have launched my car quite hard in RWD and can honestly say that traction is not really a problem - unless your sporting el-cheapo tyres. With the take off, a little wheel spin is good. It helps you get your revs up to where the power is quicker. BUT! - here is the catch 22 With the R33's and 34's a constant 5% front torque is being sent to the front wheels. Through the twisties this creates a MASSIVE diffrence. I currently have shit for tyres. Going around corners in RWD, the ass just flys out without a problem. With the car in AWD the level of grip is hugely different. Attessa can also keep you out of sticky situations. If there is enough G forces applied to any of the 3 dimentions of the car the computer will assess this and send a certain amount of front wheel torque. If you keep your foot down the car will simply bog a little and pull straight and true. So yes.. its a good system.. but can be a disadvantage. Thats my rant and I hope it helped and made sence
  17. Cheers mate.. Much appreciated But what is the long red thing under the steering collum?
  18. What are you acctually asking? How to put on a 3L bottom end? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/RB...sions-f184.html (3L conversion section of the forum) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Po...sp-t194033.html (first page. A short rundown on how its done) Dont bother doing cams. It will have absolutely nothing to do with the block. Clyinder 5 - Is the PSI press 35? Or 35 PSI lower than the others? This could either mean Rings or Head gasket. Either way, the head has to come off. You could quite easily replace the block with all components for quite cheap. You could keep your block and replace and freshen it up - New bearings, rings, hone, etc. etc. In terms of converting a 3L block to mate up to the front diff, its not that simple. You need an adaptor plate. Cheak the RB30 section of the forums to see how others have done. If your going to take your engne apart you may aswell work it abit aswell. Again, see the NA sticky.
  19. Your a champion mate, thanks for the pics.. really clears it up now!
  20. Get a set of like 225's on the front and 235's on the rear. That may fill the guards enough and still be narrow enough to be low.. .. just thought ..
  21. Hmmm.. Personally.. Not a fan.. seen too many cars with these on them.. Wedssport TC105N, XD9's FTW! Do it it right and get something light.. Mine and your tuning perspectives may be diffrent though. Im all about function over form.
