  1. It aint workin, Have a look in the classifieds and see how many big hp gtr's are languishing unwanted in the "cars for sale" section.
  2. I fail to see what the todo is all about. Blind freddy can tell you that an extra 500 cc of capacity is going be a torquier engine than its smaller displacement counterpart all things being equal. The 2.5/2.6 is also going to be the same in relation to the rb or sr 20. So what? They can all be made to go like the clappers and embarrass the hell out of much more fancied machinery in all venues, street.strip and track. Does that mean that everybody should ditch their sr's, 25,s 26's etc and run vl engines, I think not. I made my choice and wouldnt swap for quids. A hot 25 that bakes them in all 4 gears and makes full boost by late 3's is plenty of fun for me. It purrs around the streets and becomes jeckyl and hyde when i nail it. What the hell more do you want.
  3. And dont forget the oil drain bung. (looks for same sarcastic face)
  4. I'll let you know later today. Back a few years ago when mine finally died we searched the country for a running replacement and couldnt find one. A rebuildable stuffed jobbie may be a different proposition tho.
  5. its an RD angus. The D designates deisel obviously. And it has a sohc. I did 750 thou on one. great engine. Apparently it can take the twin cam head with some minor mods and is a bombproof engine with cylinder walls way thicker than the usual rb to withstand the high compression of the diesel. I believe the Rb crank drops straight in as well. Definte potential.
  6. Correct. Lots of other upgrades too.
  7. Why is it always the gold coast. That place is a vermin infested flea hole.
  8. Most of them yes but the norma high power i have reused may times with no issues.
  9. Tried most of them except the wiggins. Too pricey for my blood. The best clamp for money is the Norma high power. It looks like any other worm drive clamp but you can really give it to it with a socket and ratchet without it stripping. The problem with some of the bigger tbolt clamps according to one hose guy I spoke with is they spread the load over too wide an area and end up with less clamping pressure. The norma being a narrower band bites down harder on a more concentrated area for better grip. The other clamp I have used albeit only on the air intake side is one I found at super shit a couple of weeks back, Its a billet alloy clamp hinged in 3 places. According to the blurb the hinges allow a more even spread of pressure around the diameter of the clamp. Its working fine where it is so I am going to grab another and try it on a cooler line where theres a bit more pressure. They look neat too.
  10. Yes it is the TB 4.8 litre.Try 1000 to 1200 hp in the land of sand. Crower makes a neat stroker kit for them too. 5.1 litres to be excact. The peeps talkin dirty thirtys because they want torque could do a lot worse than have a look at one. Over all engine size is not much bigger than an rb. As soon as it cools down enough I am going to measure mine for engine height width etc. The Patrol gearbox,s are already designed to take stupendous amounts of low range torque so they can handle a fair bit. Always the option of upgrading to ppg etc as well. At first glance the head looks straight from a neo 25. No doubt that isnt the case as I'm sure bolt patterns are different between the 2 engines but i am just as sure that the design has been lifted from the neo.
  11. Have you looked at the 4.8 twin cam engine. Theres no inventing the wheel there either. Its basically a giant rb with a neo head.
  12. There is 4/5ths of flack all difference between an rb 25 and a 26. Bore the 25 40 thou over and you have a 26 anyhoos. Both have a better rod stroke ratio than the rb 30 and all of them can be modded to make ridiculous power and torque for such small displacement engines. The one given is that they are not making any more of them and as they get thinner on the ground more people will turn to the more readily available 25 as a viable alternative. 26 and 30 engines are being destroyed on an almost daily basis so the well is going to dry up sooner or later. The only limiting factor to the 25 has always been the hydraulic lifter setup but its an inexpensive exercise to convert it to solid operation so that argument isnt valid either. For those piss moaning that they want more torque why limit yourself to the 3 litre. Go straight to the front and swap out the 4.8 litre twin cam patrol engine. Got torque! Game over.
  13. I hate lawnmowers hung over in church while i'm trying to sleep.

it is a mean looker for sure but that rear wing looks like a painters plank. function over form I guess.
  15. That could be why his nut sac is hurtin. They're growin.
  16. Trust me I am trying Dano. I want this stuff bad.
  17. Just got word that theres a hipo workshop in brisbane selling it in 205 litre drums. Only wants 460 dollars a drum. lol
  18. Totally damn frustrating. Car is ready to go back on the rollers but this fuel still isnt available to us up here and i cant get an answer as to when it will be. This is Ipswich for gawd sake. Home of willowbank and qld raceway and more tuff streeters than you can poke a stick at. The market is right here right now.
  19. Batman comes to time attack. That monster will intimidate the opposition off the track Russ.
  20. You didnt imagine it NYTSKY. I felt it on both my skyline (chrono V) and the 4.8 litre patrol (redline). I thought i was dreaming but the patrol was the real test. On my way to Darwin to visit older bro the big mofo wound out to 176 kph and wouldnt go any harder. My brother talked me in to redline when we did an oil change proir to returning and Lo and Behold it woundout all the way to the speed cut (184) kph on the way home.
  21. Chrysler have always had the happy knack of taking a turd and covering it with icing. Its still a turd under the sugar. The old adage still holds true. If you cant afford a ford dodge a dodge and rev a chev.
  22. gret stuff mate. could you direct them to the thread to check out the new starting point. local police have directed us here to avoid roadworks. cheers.
  23. You're in mate
  24. Thats a hot lookin car mate. Seems like every time someone with a nice ride decides to sell they get on to a magazine for a feature and use it as a commercial for the for sale ad.
  25. You're on the list arsn.
