My zorst guy (scotts rods) and I were discussing this the other day, He had what I considered to be a brilliant idea, Make something similar to a varex but run it off vacuum. the more you rev the wider it opens. Free revving with little or no boost would see it remain mostly closed and quiet.
  4. This place was even cooler when there was no flamin mongrel in it.
  5. Best give them a call and talk to them yourself. 07 32086533. John most likely will not be there (gone fishin) Just ask for will.
  6. Dont hold a gun to my head because i really cant recall the pricing but i believe it was somewhere around the 6/700 dollar range for the conversion, My bill was a fair bit more than that because i did some o/s valves, heavier springs and some major port work to boot. It worked out far less expensive than going to a 26 head because i already had a greddy plenum and himount manifold etc to suit the 25. Plus throw in the cost of buying a 26 head and you soon realise its very good value to convert the 25 head to solids.
  7. John Hill engineering here in Brisbane. I am with cartman, the tomei conversion is a donkey f**k. John did my conversion and head work and couldnt be happier.
  8. It was a standard 25 box dave. Without a doubt one of the best pieces of oem equipment on the planet. It handled the power without a murmer. Funny thing is i thought i upgraded every where I thought I needed to in the drive train. The diff is the GTR vspec alsd item, The tailshafts were custom made hardy spicer items with oversize uni joints. etc etc. Shit happens is about all you can say I guess.
  9. Oh you tried alright, You tried hard what with your little song links and barbs. At least one of the other dowels you are referring to is in my shed as we speak, As for the other, Who knows. Probably among the box of shrapnel i had to clean off the track at qr or still in orbit. As for the dust and dirt. perhaps if Berry got off his arse instead of waffling the clutch may not have sat in his workshop for weeks gathering dust and dirt. I did not and will not make a claim, The evidence is there and it speaks for itself. let him make the claim. The pressure plate according to all others except the erstwhile mr. berry is a dodgy pos. But then, What would they know. Mechanics know nothing and the other clutch makers are just jealous of him. (his own words) As an aside one of those clutch makers is very jealous of him. The way he explained it was that anyone who could con that sort of money out of the buying public for that product is a pure genius. Theres so much more paul but hopefully we will face to face somewhere in the near future at a drag meeting or similar and i will enlighten you a little further. As it stands for me to get satisfaction would involve litigation which i can ill afford. Thanks to good friends like dan and others the pain in the wallet has been minimalised to a degree that I can now look forward to more fun times with friends at a track or strip. I refused his offer for a replacement clutch for reasons i will detail you in person. I can and do sleep at night knowing my hands and concience are clear and clean.
  10. Knock yaself out there dirt man. Sorry but the knife you are trying to twist in Dan's ribs aint sharp enough to cut through his singlet. Dan DID NOT fit said clutch to my car. Michael Oshea of signature performance DID fit the clutch to my car Both Dan and Micheal advised me (independant of each other) To avoid this clutch at all costs. More fool me for listening to fan boiz on this forum rather than taking advice from the 2 mechanics I actually trust to build and tune my car. Both Dan and Michael do this for a living, They are not part timers, Dan has spent several years in a brake and clutch specific workshops dealing in all aspects of said field from grannys lazer to hipo applications. Michael is the proprietor of signature performance specialising in some tuff track cars as well as general high performance import work. Either of these guys have fited more clutches than you have had hot dinners Paul. What are your qualifications.
  11. I'm running a full bucket (sparco evo 2) and it is the most comfy seat I have ever used. The standard seat belt isnt an issue, it works fine. I will upgrade to a harness when the cage goes in but for the moment I am more than happy.
  12. Still on holidays.
  13. Check that your bov is working. Had a similar issue when mine stuck. Car idles and makes all the right noises etc but had no oomph whatsoever. Worth a try.
  14. This crowd (qld name plating) have done stuff for me over many many years. Anodising, chroming, you name it. First class work. http://www.kellysearch.com/au-company-901228164.html
  15. Did the Lions road and the bellbird yesterday. always an awesome drive.thinkin about a look at queen mary today. Too many sunday drivers during the hols tho. The drive around moogerah dam is another hottie. Not very long but some of the best shit.
  16. And even then she would struggle.
  17. I'll go against the mill and say GTR. I'm also betting that more "top end" cars inc porsche etc will follow suit and incorporate a lot more elctronic control in their cars in the near future. Bang for buck works for me and the gtr has it in spades compared to the porka. So what if less driver input is required, At the end of the day you still have to steer the beast. If it were street creds that did it for me I wouldnt even drive a skyline. Lets face it, only the ricers give a second glance to a line. The high end brigade look down on us and the bogans sneer at us. Which is why I take great delight in smashing the shit out of both of them at every opportunity.
  18. You do Paul. And you have spent the last 11 pages telling us about it.
  19. Think again. Link like most companys would prefer to sell 100 units to a wholesale customer than 100 units to 100 different customers. That isnt foolish, Thats just good business. If, as has been suggested, the vipec is a rebadge link wont give a rodents ring who has the unit in the market first. Either way its their product being sold.
  20. Had the same problem recently. Try this. Adjust the piston travel to the master cylinder under the dash. If your issue is the same as mine the piston is too deep in the master cylinder and is blocking the bleed hole. Screw it so the piston goes back toward the drivers seat. Take it out a good distance at first and see if that cures your problem. Once you have fluid flowing you can bleed and readjust accordingly. Hope it works for you. It did for me.
  21. The option of the mirror will always be there cowboy.
  22. I would like in a mirror.
  23. 2rismo put your cock back in your pants, We're tired of you floppin it out. If the task of being a moderator affects you to this degree I suggest you retire from the position and find something less stressful in life. I have never seen or read so much tripe and bullshit in all my life. If as you state there is a posibility of ltigation against the forum then why do you simply lock the thread instead of deleting it, Or, could it be you simply like seeing your name in print. Grow up and leave your egos at the door the damn lot of you. This would have to be the most ridiculous abuse of moderation I have ever witnessed on a forum. No one is suing any one for anything any time. You know it, I know it. Grow up, Cut the crap, Lock the thread. move on.
