  2. I cant till my car is back on the road dunc, Zenon is a regular there, Not too many others from these boards. Dont worry bout your lap times. If you're running a new car in Just ask to be put in the slow bracket and go enjoy yourself.
  3. The cars may feel old but we who drive them dont. Time spent driving a skyline is not deducted from the life span.
  4. Was it a pump fuel or race fuel tune dg?
  5. My knowledge at this stage is very basic Jarrod. I believe from looking at the diff that what you are saying is correct. I have a diff mob up here going to take a bo peep at it with a view to shimming the clutchpak to extend its life so I'll wait for the verdict. The other idea I find very intriguing, When the giant boys (russel and Mark) purchased the 33 they are building it came with a manually operated ALSD. The system from Russels description over the phone involves the use of a drift style hydraulic handbrake with a master cylinder and a cock to lock off the return when the desired pressure is reached. In other words, pump the hydro handbrake to whatever pressure you determine and hold it whilst you turn off the cock to stop the pressure bleeding back off and hey, PRESTO! It sounds simple enough and once you determined the amount of pressure required you could set the diff as a 1.5 way or 2 way etc. If the diff boys tell me the clutch pack in my diff is acceptable I am going to explore this option further. An added bonus would be the removal of the motors pumps etc that drive the diff.
  6. Thanks for the prompt replys peeps.
  7. I am currently parting out what was left of a 96 model 33 gtst after a friends son kissed a tree with it. There is no abs unit under the hood but i am not sure if it was removed or not. However at the diff end there are no sensors and no visible pickup cog on the half shafts. I was of the impression that all series 2 were ABS equipped. Can any one confirm or deny this?
  8. The alsd does have clutch packs, We have mine apart atm. I want this diff working again as its a far bigger stronger diff than the stock gtst number but its around a thousand bucks for a new clutch pack. That may sway me to replacing diff and half shafts too.
  9. Ballsy brakes on the Gold coast did mine. ADR certificate supplied and under 200 dollars from memory.
  10. Well heres the damge bill from that nano second of shit and disaster Gearbox...chopped clutch pressure plate andflywheel....Chopped Engine.....chopped due to a chunk being blasted from the back of the block dump.....choppped starter motor.....chopped clutch slave......chopped bellhousing spacer plate....chopped Braided clutch line....chopped turbo water line.....chopped Tore down the engine on the weekend so we can get the crank and jun pump xrayed. I dont anticipate any props but i am not taking any chances. Now the madness begins all over again. Oh happy Days!
  11. In all honesty Amy lee. you would broaden your sales potential immeasurably by having the car retrimmed in more mainstream colours. There are few enough chicks in to high performance imports and even fewer (I hope) guys that want a pink interior. If you maintain this one like you did your 33 It will be an exceptionally clean and well kept car for the next owner.
  12. Lag is the shizzle so just mount them in the boot with some looooooooonnnnnggggg piping.
  13. What value do you place on piston oil squirters. Is there a quality difference between the locally produced older 30 blocks as opposed to the jap sourced 25/26 blocks? I dont have a horse in this race but i believe they are interesting questions. Anyone?

  21. I've had some success by grinding a large punch to the shape of the insert and flogging the shit out of it with a 5 lb dumpy hammer then trying to undo it a la normal. ( I really dont grind the punch but just use the 1/2 inch socket extension) Do this at your peril because chrome vanadium can shatter under impact

  23. My mind is open at this stage baron. I am only passing on what the man said to me via our first phone conversation. However, if the old adage "Talk is cheap" holds any sway then Jim is one cheap mofo for sure. He could talk the legs off an iron horse. We'll see what eventuates on thursday when I present the parts to him.
